Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Dec 30 2025

I enjoyed Blonde on Blonde (1966) (BOB?). Dylan’s voice is not what makes it special, but his ability to tell a story through his words is something infrequent in contemporary works — he is a lyricist in a tier of his own. The song I most enjoyed was “Visions of Johanna”, and I look forward to exploring more of his other albums.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Dec 31 2025

Good debut album (1996), especially with impressive given that Apple was only 18 when it was released. Favorite song was Shadowboxer. Of all of her albums, not my favorite, but I enjoyed listening to it nonetheless.

Smash by The Offspring
Jan 01 2026

Just okay. It has a couple good songs, but overall… eh. Impressive given its success with album sales produced under an independent label. Favorite song was Self Esteem.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jan 02 2026

Pretty good. Grew on me as I listened. Favorite song was “Out of Time”. 1966…BOB.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jan 05 2026

I really enjoyed this album. My favorite track is Ventilator Blues, followed by Sweet Virginia. The musical maturity and evolution, compared to their previous album Aftermath (1966), was cool to see in Exile on Main Street (1972).

xx by The xx
Jan 06 2026

Awesome. Feels kind of like a blend of Cigarettes After Sex, Lorde, and Arctic Monkeys. No-skip album.

Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart
Jan 07 2026

Pretty good. The hoarse voice somehow works. Makes me want to listen to more of Rod Stewart’s tracks. Favorite song: “My Way of Giving”.

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Jan 08 2026

Oh, Elliot. LOML. Like a warm bowl of soup. A warm day in January. Yes.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jan 09 2026

Background music. Boring. Unoriginal. I would rather listen to babies crying.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Jan 13 2026

YES. Perfect. THE soul album. Loved all of them, but of course Let’s Stay Together Most. Al Green is a POS, but, damn, his music is good.

Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney
Jan 14 2026

Very grungey. Wasn’t familiar before but honestly look forward to listening to them more.
