Nevermind by Nirvana
Dec 31 2025

Incredible first pick. A all-time favourite album of mine that was due for a re-listen and a real think about. Some of the best guitars ever with a unique rage barely replicated since.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jan 01 2026

Such a creative sound across the tracklist. Mitchell's voice is an instrument along with the band and free-flowing rhythm and relaxed jazz-rock sound make for a great time.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Jan 02 2026

You can hear the influence in this album so clearly; that is to say you can hear why artists have been influenced by the album and the rest of Prince's discography. For me, it runs a little long and the songs end up blending in with one another.

Jan 03 2026

Masterpiece, completely unsure as to how I haven’t listened to it by now. Definitely an album and an artist I will be coming back to.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jan 04 2026

Good jams across the album, would have been a 5 but those last few minutes of The Gumbo Variations became a bit of a slog. Excited for more Zappa!

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jan 06 2026

Many have tried to recreate this kind of synth-tinted indie rock and very few have matched this quality. Stadium bangers and esoteric deep cuts on the same album and it’s so good front to back.

Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Jan 07 2026

Not my favourite of Steely Dan’s. Cool sound but a little repetitive and I prefer their jazzier stuff to this bluesy sound.

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Jan 08 2026

White British man with a strange and insultingly boring attempt at dub. Embarrassing that this is in the list, much better off having a genuine Caribbean album in its place.

Tical by Method Man
Jan 11 2026

Why do I need to listen to this before I die? Wu-Tang Clan’s stuff as a group I get, but while this was a solid album, and one I enjoyed, it doesn’t seem that necessary.

John Prine by John Prine
Jan 12 2026

Solid. Nice sounds and good to hear something other than rock after a while.
