Parallel Lines by Blondie
Jan 02 2026

The 2 hits are outstanding, will need multiple listens to appreciate the rest.. takes me back to my college years. They were wildly popular thanks to Deborah.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Jan 03 2026

While the title song was way overplayed in the 70’s, this album overall is a treasure into the genius of Paul Simon. I’ve always been a big fan of ‘So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright’ and think of this song often when I see architecture I love. Many of these songs defined the spirit of our nation in the 70’s.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jan 04 2026

Classified as psychedelic soul, I was hopeful this genre would open some new doors, but nothing I could really latch on to. He has a decent voice, but not a direction I could get excited about.

The Cars by The Cars
Jan 05 2026

Some nostalgia here, this album takes me back to college in Dayton, Ohio, listening to this cassette in my '71 Mustang.. big thing in the 70's was to upgrade your rear speakers in cars and this upgrade did not disappoint. The guitar riffs laid out by the Cars were so new & clean for the time, as if they were inventing their own version of rock. Their best album, like many others, was their debut. They captured their own sound and American radio loved it. Takes me back to a carefree time, LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL became an anthem for American youth !

Revolver by Beatles
Jan 06 2026

One of my Top 5 Beatle's albums, so many of these songs are iconic and written into the social & artist fabric of the times. They NEVER get old ! Recognized as one of the greatest and most innovative albums in the history of popular music, its range of musical styles, diverse sounds and lyrical content stand tall all of these decades later.
