1001 Albums Summary

Might be the first heavy metal album I've listened to front to back? And it's epic. Definitely had a misconception of what this might sound like. "Black Sabbath" sets an ominous, "doom and gloom" type of tone. Church bells in the background? First song on their first album, what a cool way to intro your sound. LOVE "The Wizard" - the harmonica solos are sick. Sort of blues-y? Catchy guitar riff and memorable solo in "N.I.B." - cool song from Lucifer's POV. Overall Rating: 7.5/10

“China Girl” is definitely the standout for me on this. Cool to learn that this was made with Bowie. Overall Rating: 7/10

Hadn’t heard most of this record beyond “Superstition.” Enjoyed a handful of songs, but didn’t stick with me like I thought it would. Overall Rating: 7/10

I loved this - right up my alley. Overall Rating: 8.7/10

"Devils Haircut" is a track I'll definitely be returning to. Lots of experimental sounds on this, and some work better than others imo. Overall Rating: 5/10

Wasn't really my thing. Liked "Only Happy When It Rains" and "Stupid Girl," but not an album I'll be returning to. Overall Rating: 4.3/10
