Moondance by Van Morrison
Jan 08 2026

Wavered between 3 and 4, didn’t completely blow me away but definitely some beautiful stuff on here. The hits are famous for a reason, the playing is beautiful throughout, and the production is clear warm early 70s perfection

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 12 2026

I could tell there was quality here and I enjoy a good amount of Nick Caves other albums. Would need a few more listens to really get into it I think, 4 stars nonetheless

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Jan 16 2026

Punishing even in 2026, I can see how this was a big deal in the 80s. Definitely takes more from the punk side of thrash compared to a band like Metallica, this album knows not to overstay its welcome. Unfortunately it’s also not nearly as memorable as Metallica’s best for me. Borderline 4, but I don’t see myself returning to it that much.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jan 19 2026

Overall not my favourite Dylan album, but has some of his best songs. Tracks 3-8 is a great run. Not a big fun on his 12 bar blues songs, he’s much better on tracks like Johanna or Sad Eyed Lady

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jan 22 2026

It’s good, borderline great (a 4 on a good day) but just doesn’t stack up to Lightning or Puppets, and also doesn’t have the hardcore speedy energy of their first album. That plus the weak production makes for a just okay listen overall, despite having some strong songs
