Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jan 05 2026

While I see it’s cultural impact, I don’t like this album all that much personally. Maybe I’m too young to understand just yet. Reminds me of the color cranberry, maybe because it is so* mid-90s in a way I can’t resonate with but immediately recognize. I caught my dad blasting it in the car once

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jan 07 2026

This was fun to finally get around to. While it isn’t really my favorite of the band’s work (Blaming my disinterest in thrash metal), it still holds strong. The mixing isn’t my favorite, To Live Is To Die deserves maybe a bit of a different take. Yet, what was done with One is spectacular. I think it may be a contender for the top five metal songs ever released. At a Korn concert some time ago, my dad and I moshed to a cover.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Jan 08 2026

God, I love the harmonies. This album comes immediately to mind when thinking of the period in history, like a sunny day on a roadtrip to California. Don’t understand the inclusion of certain instruments at certain times. Maybe I’d do a better job high. Also, as a lesbian, women’s voices on love songs about women is always appreciated. Rest in peace, Cass Elliot <3

Frank by Amy Winehouse

His voice is just so unmatched. Not my usual genre, and I really only think I’d listen again under specific circumstances, but I can’t deny just how good her work was. Nice to have this album to turn to when I decide I need it.
