Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jan 07 2026

It’s okay. It’s got 2 or 3 songs that get me pumped, even more pumped if I’m 2 or 3 drinks in. I didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t love it.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Jan 08 2026

It sounded fine. The 2 singles carried it for me. I prefer The Beach Boys cover of “Do You Wanna Dance?” I don’t know if I would ever come back to this album though…

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Jan 12 2026

All of the songs blended and felt like one unit to me, which enjoyed. The one that jumped out was Dreamer. It sounded louder and a tad different- it was also the one song I knew before listening to the album. I enjoyed the sound, and I like Supertramp.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jan 13 2026

Now it let’s me add notes… I think the music sounded good, and I think there’s a time and a place for this music, BUT I gotta lay the hammer down. This is a 2. It’s just not my style, and I don’t ever see myself going… “Oh, I gotta throw on some BVSC” (unless I’m doing some sort of Spanish thing).

The Slider by T. Rex
Jan 14 2026

I liked the sounds and the bass lines. I like this type of music, but I don’t know how often I’d seek this specific album out. I had heard of this guy before, mainly for the GONG. It was decent, but my socks are still on.

Jan 15 2026

“You’re Gonna Miss Me” was a song I had heard before, so it jumped at me. Everything else kinda just felt like simple standard 60s-70s movie hangout background music. That’s not a dig, just an assessment and feeling toward the music. I enjoyed the vibe, but nothing stuck with me after listening.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jan 16 2026

This one did not do it for me. I like weird and different stuff, and I can appreciate that this was potentially the first of its kind when it released, but I don’t think I’ll ask someone to throw some Depeche Mode (at least this album) on for me.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Jan 19 2026

I like Bob Dylan, but I am self aware enough to know that it is surface level. Most of his songs that I like (and know) are his big singles; that being said, I enjoyed listening to this album. Would I purchase it, not quite sure. Would I listen to it again, potentially.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Jan 20 2026

I did not expect to feel this way after listening to this album. When I saw “nine inch nails”, I initially wrote it off as screamy music in my head. This is felt like a redefinition of an album. You don’t experience this album as individual slices (except for Hurt, maybe), it has to be consumed as a collective experience. It felt like a movie, and I felt moved. The techno-y drills, the atmosphere- I felt sci-fi, dystopian, apocalyptic, introspective, blah bleh bloh. I do not love any of the songs, I didn’t even necessarily enjoy them, but they weighed down on me. I would buy this piece of art. I would never play a song on this album for my friend. I would sit down and listen to this album through. That’s the only way to really do it.

Devotional Songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Jan 22 2026

Reading about this guy was interesting- the “King of Kings” of qawalli music. A shame he died at 48. I recognize his talents, and that there is beauty in his music. But you could argue there is beauty in all music. This will may to suffer the same fate as Buena Vista…

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Jan 23 2026

Hmmm. I don’t know. I only knew about Robbie because of his 2012 song, “Candy,” which I really liked. Nothing on this album grabbed a hold of me, but nothing turned me off- that much, at least. I could see myself listening to songs again or maybe even liking them if they found me in the right circumstances. Not great, but not as terrible as I was expecting.
