Not the style of music I lean towards but I can see how it would have influenced later bands.
Some music makes a splash and the provides a subtle influential undercurrent for the next several generations. With Lust For Life you can still see the ripples above the water. The title track has been samples several times over and has been reused in film and commercials, along with The Passenger, for decades
Punches above it's weight. Enjoyed more than expected.
Starts strong with solid dance floor worthy funk and disco beats before transitioning to a slower more relaxed vibe. You can start to hear the "familiar" Michael Jackson rhythms and intonations most associate with him taking shape. Solid album with 20 million copies sold, a feat any artist would be proud of. Amazing to know the follow-up would sell over 3 time more copies.
This album doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. An eclectic mix of beats and rhythms across genres. The album is polished enough to keep you listening but not entertaining enough to keep you engaged.
