1001 Albums Summary

'm not a Metallica fan at all, but I can admit that this album is undoubtedly a legend. It's not my favorite, though. I still think that they made better albums, such as Ride the Lightning or AJFA (my personal favorite). I understand why everyone kind of collectively agrees that this is their best one. I mean, the riffs are heavy and iconic, the lyrics are solid, but for me, it seems a little bit all over the place. Will I listen to it again? Probably not, except for a couple of songs (the title track and "Battery" — I do actually like them). But I respect the impact, so that's why it's a 4/5 and not lower.

I'm more of a rock/metal fan, and funk is far from my usual taste, but damn, what an enjoyable album this is. I never thought I'd like it so much that I might even listen to it again someday (maybe even more than once :) ). Lyric-wise, it doesn't seem that interesting to me (except maybe for the title track), but I tend to focus on the music more, and musically it is amazing, so I don't really care about the words that much. Also, it's a perfect record for relaxation. I see a lot of people here complaining about some songs being too long, but I listen to prog a lot, so I'm used to long forms and still really enjoyed those songs.

Sorry, but I don't know what the f it was. I guess it's just not my thing...
