This one didn't grab me. I put it on and it quickly became background music as I carried on about my evening. Not a big fan of the flute either, especially in 70s rock. Jethro Tull I'm talking to you

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Feb 02 2026

Nice start to my project! Fond memories of this whole album on repeat when it was released.

Feb 03 2026

Never been a big Dylan fan, save for a few songs from his 70s albums. I was pleasantly surprised listening to this album front to back. Being his "going electric" record I enjoyed every song on it. He sure can paint a picture with his lyrics

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Feb 04 2026

Used to play Fools Gold when it was new during my DJ shift at the college radio station so I could smoke a bowl at 3am with my dorm mates outside the building. At just under 10 mins it was a great smoke break song.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Feb 05 2026

Hadn't listened to this entire album since its initial release. After almost 4 decades I find that the singles from it are still amazing, but the rest of the album isn't as nostalgia inducing. It was nice to have on while I was working though

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Feb 06 2026

Always loved this album!

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Feb 09 2026

Good album, especially for a debut. Brothers In Arms is peak Dire Straits to me and this album certainly contains the DNA of that masterpiece

This one didn't grab me. I put it on and it quickly became background music as I carried on about my evening. Not a big fan of the flute either, especially in 70s rock. Jethro Tull I'm talking to you

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Feb 12 2026

Never heard of these guys before and I enjoyed this listen. 60s garage punk new wave with simple but good melodies and the singer's voice reminded me a bit of Jello Biafra with his vibrato. This is definitely in my rotation now

Doolittle by Pixies
Feb 13 2026

Already in my top 5 best albums of all time. Came out just before I got to college and I wore the album out repeatedly. For me there's before Doolittle and after Doolittle. After this album came out I don't believe I ever bought another Michael Jackson or Phil Collins record again (and I still love those artists, too!)

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Feb 16 2026

Love hearing the source of so many samples in hip-hop. Great feel good record

Bad by Michael Jackson
Feb 17 2026

It's MJ duh

You Are The Quarry by Morrissey
Feb 18 2026

It's funny that I love anything Peter Murphy does but generally turn my nose up to anything Morrissey puts out (solo-wise). This wasn't any different. A couple of catchy tunes but his lyrics and drippy arrogant voice just doesn't do it for me

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Feb 19 2026

Stomp Clap is to millennials what the Swing Renaissance was to us GenXers. It's embarrassing and does not age well at all. That said, I did like Fleet Foxes as an early iteration of this genre. The harmonies are undeniably good and ethereal

Quiet Life by Japan
Feb 20 2026

Not my favorite. A bit pretentious (which isn't always a deal breaker) and too much casio keyboard. I know it came out in the early days of new wave, but it doesn't hold up well. Japan walked to Depeche Mode could run

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Feb 23 2026

Such a great voice and attitude. Love this album

On The Beach by Neil Young
Feb 24 2026

Not my cup of tea. Never really liked Neil Young and I tried to go into this album with an open mind, but I just couldn't get into it

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Feb 25 2026

Was not hooked at all right away so I kept it on while I worked. While beautiful sounding and performed by clearly talented musicians I can't say it's music I would listen to regularly. I'm glad to know this beautiful music exists in the world though

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Feb 26 2026

A solid listen. Was only familiar with Life of Mars before and enjoyed the entire album

Raw Power by The Stooges
Feb 27 2026

This isn't proto punk. This IS punk. Iggy is a god

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Mar 03 2026

Loved it! Very easy to listen to, and is great both as a main focus or as ambient background music. Hard not to be happy while listening
