-Love her Madly: DONT YOU WANNA BE HER DADDY?!?!
Okay in general love his voice. I think Hozier probably draws some inspiration from him? I think they are know for being "bluesy" so that tracks.
Fun electric guitar too just in general.
Riders on the storm isn't all that... lost me at "girl gotta love your man." Catchy tho
Idk overall i see how they're influential with the bluesy rock hoarse voice style. I liked it, but i dont think I'd revisit it frequently.
Hey! That's Eddie's tattoo!
More *listenable* than a lot of metal. Also, contagious high energy, I think good workout music.
Everyone was saying the prisoner was a banger... can't disagree
Overall I think this has a time and place, like the gym, or if ya just wanna jump around lol. Would listen again.
Never let me down: big gay vibes
I guess bo Burnham is trying to sound like them sometimes lol
This is early emo lol.
Sad boi hours.
What in the phantom of the opera. Why does it feel like im being inducted into a secret society. (Pimpf) (Upon further research "Pimpfe" refers to a subgroup of children recruited to Hitler's youth, so apropro i suppose).
Would make good sci fi music (Agent Orange) (LOL the Wikipedia article says they were asked to score "some dodgy sci fi films" and they declined)
I must say I am not looking forward to this, the man infamously dragged by Eminem.
Wait. Is he just... sampling people and putting it over electronic music? Stop.
Oh. Not just people. Black blues artists. Cool cool cool cool cool.
Porcelain: thats his singing and he wrote it. More acceptable. Apparently ASAP Rocky sampled it in "Forever."
Ah. We are back to sampling. Idk if I can continue this lol. This isn't for me. Especially not 2 hours of this.
Death on Two legs is new to me and I love it.
Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon sounds like it belongs in a horror movie.
Im in love with my car is an unsubtle gay metaphor and im here for it.
Drug a bit near the end but then we get the magical Bohemian Rhapsody, so strong finish.
Queen's amazing, every time.
Opening track is giving... rape culture.
I was reading some of the other reviews and someone said these 60s sockhop albums have simp energy, and that resonates with me.
Oh, Cathy's Clown is a banger, I know this one. (Again with the simp energy)
So Love Hurts covered by Nazareth later becomes famous... and hate to say it but they did it better.
Lucille is a little Richard cover. Went back and listened to it, and as Frankie said, "theres no way they did that better." Absolutely not. I will say it has more emotion and spice than any of their other songs, but thats not saying much.
The only thing this album accomplished was making me a Little Richard fan.
Probably wouldnt listen again, but Cathy's Clown is a standout.
Papa was a rolling stone- classic. Also this music is just so easy to listen to.
Aww love woke me up this morning is sweet.
Idk I'd listen to this all day tbh.
I thought they were a rock band?
I think his slurred voice thing only works with the title track. Otherwise he just sounds weird.
The electric guitar is 👍
Even in a gadda da Vida, which I've heard before, is meh. THIS SONG IS 1000 YEARS LONG. Also what's with the sound like a lawn mower being cranked? I know its the guitar but ouch
I LOOKED AND ITS 17 MINUTES. STOP.
How you gonna have a 36 min album and one song is half of it?!?!
Not my jam
Smile Please: Bum bum bum baby bummmmm... I like it! Reggae vibes. Drags a little tho
Heaven is a zillion miles away: I like the title lol love an unnecessarily long title.
somehow I was caught off guard by the religious overtones despite the name.
Love the background yells
Too Shy to Say: a sweet love song; also drags a bit to me
Boogie on reggae woman: naughty! Then *harmonica interlude*
one of the album singles apparently- that tracks
Creepin' was moody and dark, I liked it!
You Haven't Done Nothin' is a criticism of Nixon's administration apparently, and honestly a banger. Also- the Jackson 5 doing the doo de wop!
It ain't no use: doomed love with a bye bye bye chorus... not really my jam but does what it sets out to do
They won't go when I go: big funeral dirge vibes. Cool sound but not my fave
Bird of beauty outside my wheelhouse lol
Ending with "Please Don't Go" is nice creative choice
Ahhh yes the guitar hero bop. Very *mysterious* sounding
Its alright for you is catchy
Also, "Limp wrist, tight fist" should be a queer slogan and available on a tshirt.
Lol I thought they were saying "does everyone smell the way i do?"
Random intermittent reggae vibes
STOP THE ALBUM TITLE MEANS WHITE REGGAE
Idk its a good time but not my fave. Solid tho
I stan a singer songwriter
Also love a harmonica moment
Don't love songs by guys about virgins but I'll take my wins where I can.
This is nice overall but kinda boring.
Maybe I should just listen to harmonica solos.
Tears of rage was kinda a banger.
Oh, originally a Bob Dylan song about division over the Vietnam War. Cool.
I could see listening to this again, as like background chill music.
Chaotic but I had a great time
Very queen inspired. A little boring. Good nap music.
