The Bends by Radiohead
Feb 21 2026

This album is in the top 5 Radiohead albums for me. I remember hearing it for the first time as a teenager and it is difficult to describe how the sounds seemed to just be a part of me instantly. A lot of Radiohead is like that. Clearly I'm biased, but yeah, it's basically a perfect album for its genre.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Feb 22 2026

Really enjoyable 90s brit-pop Beatles melancholic clone.

Bossanova by Pixies
Feb 23 2026

I think I would have loved this if I had owned it in my teenage years. It's a solid album, but feels a little stale for me now as an adult.

Feb 24 2026

Amazing album. I absolutely hated the opening of the baby crying. Once I got past that jarring start I loved the rest of the album. I always liked Can I Kick It, but the rest of the album has amazing sampling, jazz vibes, bossanova in the background... I just really loved the whole thing.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Feb 25 2026

This album is such a nice vibe. I didn't think I would like it very much and it took me a few songs in before I really bought in. This is not music to challenge you, it is music to turn on low in the background while you cook dinner, or sip iced tea on a Summer afternoon. Very chill.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Feb 26 2026

Perfect album. I wish that every teenager and young 20 something in the world, throughout the generations has the chance to fall in love with Pink Floyd albums. Not single songs, but the whole album from beginning to end. As I get older I listen to Pink Floyd a lot less; they make me feel more melancholy now. But it doesn't change what a special place their music has in my life. Just thinking about some of the melodic swells in this album makes me feel emotional.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Feb 28 2026

This is one of the first CDs my Mom gave me as a little kid. I think it is my favorite of the mid-career Beatles albums.

The Score by Fugees
Mar 01 2026

Aside from a couple of the tracks, I don't think I would listen to this again. It's a fine album, but that's it. It didn't inspire me much.

Mar 03 2026

Beautiful Dylan album. I have to be in the mood for his music. The folksy sound and the sad subject matter can be a lot to take on some days.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Mar 10 2026

I thought I would like this one more than I did. The music is gorgeous, but I imagine this as a gold mine of tracks for a good playlist as opposed to a great single album listen.

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Mar 11 2026

I liked this more than I thought it would. I love the samples and the music. Other than the song about the gynecology visit was just kind of silly and juvenile, the rest of the album was a vibe.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Mar 12 2026

90s Brit-Pop but done really well. It's hard not to just hear them as a Beatles clone, but they are a very good Beatles clone.

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Mar 13 2026

Okay this one was really intriguing. It's a live album which can be tough for a first listen, but I can hear how so many other bands were influenced by this. The music is really beautiful and baroque. Too many things going on for someone like me to have words for.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Mar 15 2026

I love this album, listened to it twice yesterday. I had never heard it before and was more familiar with their later more pop goth stuff which I also like. This album was something I always wanted and didn't know existed.

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
Mar 16 2026

This was way too twangy country for me. I love Emmylou Harris' voice, songwriting is beautiful, arrangements and musicianship are excellent. I feel bad giving it a low score, but I just didn't care for it.

Mar 18 2026

On paper this seems like an album that I would like, but the experience of listening to it left a lot to be desired. The songs felt repetitious and uninteresting with the exception of the title track which I did enjoy.

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Mar 20 2026

I liked the opening, but the album started to lose me in the middle. I almost tapped out, but as I stuck with it I started to appreciate what she was trying to do. I still feel conflicted about what was being represented, but ultimately I think an attempt to show depth behind types of women who stereotyped and dismissed is a good thing. Loved songs like Pick Up Your Feelings and Lost One.
