1001 Albums Summary

Automatically love the first song, added it to the Autumn playlist. Second song, White Winter Hymnal, has been a favorite for a long time. The sound of this album is consistent the whole way through, so would be good to listen to while getting stuff done around the house.

This album was a little too “noisy” for my personal taste, though I did like the song Teen Age Riot. I am glad I listened to it and can appreciate Sonic Youth’s contribution to the genre!

Really enjoyed this album and definitely will add it into my listening rotation.

Overall it just felt a little too cheesy for my own personal taste. I could not finish listening to it.

While I like some other songs from other albums more, this was a great listen and I enjoyed the album all the way through.

Just so fun and listenable. I knew I would love this one.

Though I didn’t personally enjoy this album all the way through, I can certainly appreciate the clear influence their sound would have in the music of the next decades.

Their radio hits, Use Somebody and Sex on Fire, are automatic skips for me. But this album? I enjoyed it so much more and was pleasantly surprised. Glad to have given it a shot.

Just not for me. Even my kids who like harder music didn’t really get into it.

Would really say more like 3.5

Liked more than Dreamland Nation.

Easy 5 stars. Loved this album since the first time I heard it!

I prefer The Suburbs, but enjoyed the sound of this one too.
