3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Mar 19 2026

I was really jamming and then it just keeps going, so much instrumental. I know the line from who's that lady and also the song "Listen to the music". The instrumental on Summer Breeze is so cool. It's a cover of Seal & Crofts, I like their version too, it's been in a lot of movies. I also listened to the cover by Type O Negative. It's a really dark and slow version. An interesting take. I think the Isley Brothers' version is my favorite. Reading their Wikipedia page I'm starting to understand their genius. My order of songs on the album: 1-Summer Breeze 2-Listen to the Music 3-That Lady 4-What It Comes Down To 5-The Highways of My Life 6-Sunshine (Go Away Today) 7-If You Were There 8-You Walk Your Way 9-Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight

Graceland by Paul Simon
Mar 21 2026

A good album, I enjoyed it. It might be some of my new go-to music when I want something to listen to while I'm cooking. I Know What I Know The Boy In the Bubble Gumboots Graceland You Can Call Me Al (sounds like another one of the songs) Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Mar 22 2026

Albie thinks it's rad, Brenden said one of his uncles used to listen to Sonic Youth.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Mar 23 2026

Some like classic rap, I enjoyed it. Seems like it had some important themes and messages, wish I had more time to delve into it.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Mar 24 2026

First song: Immigrant Song very famous been in lots of movies. Less metal than I remember.

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Mar 25 2026

Delightful little orchestra music with bass and keyboard and string instruments. Zopf: From the Colonies and The Sound of Someone You Love are really good. I really enjoyed this journey. Also, the composer has a son with his own group "Penguin Cafe." They have a very similar sound.

Mar 26 2026

Not my favorite. The singer's voice is pretty average and despite the meaningful lyrics I just didn't enjoy it much. So of the songs can be pretty cool, Brenden enjoyed more than me.

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Mar 27 2026

I like it, didn't like who he was as a person.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Mar 28 2026

Great jazz, not much to say. Made me miss jazz band.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Mar 29 2026

Recognized 'Sharp Dressed Man'. Definitely classic rock, just good music.

Moving Pictures by Rush
Mar 31 2026

I wasn't really into it. Sounds a lot the same and the songs are so long. Maybe if I found it at a different stage of my life I would like it better. I know this is Dan's favorite band. I thought I was hearing a song I liked, it was just Pink Floyd on auto-play.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Apr 01 2026

Of course we all know Seven Nation Army.  I don't think I've heard anything else by them, so I'm excited to listen.  I know they're not brother and sister from the kid's book we have. Well now I'm a bit like huh, I don't like it too much.  His voice changes so much throughout the album. I'm intrigued by them and their image, Meg White is very interesting to me.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Apr 02 2026

I mean it's good because it's Foo Fighters, but I feel like they had better albums.  This was a bit sparse and I didn't recognize any of the songs.  Didn't really hit for me.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Apr 03 2026

I thought there must be a woman in the band because of the name, nope. Lol the lyrics are pretty misogynistic as well but they're sort of funny and forgivable. Like Add It Up is pretty funny.

Odelay by Beck
Apr 04 2026

I feel like I need to stop reading the Wikipedia articles. I don't know anything about these people so I want to learn about them, but then it influences my perception. I liked this album, but knowing all of his background with his divorces and artistic parents and dropping out of school after junior high, I don't know if it makes me not like his music, but it just makes me think too much. I don't know.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Apr 08 2026

It's not what I expected haha I guess I was thinking of the cranberries. It's very like 60's boy band. It was fun to listen to but I don't know if I would listen again.
