Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Apr 04 2026

Slick and funky but all a bit samey not much range in terms of vocals or instrumentals until rip off which is great more like that wouldve been really nice but the middle of the album felt like a slog at points... all feels a bit one note. Highlights are get it on (obvs), monolith (guitar work and interesting lyrics), planet queen (catchy and just a jolly little track) and rip off (much needed variety high energy and aggressive delivery) Generally a decent/good listen but personally nothing to write home about as an ensemble if I want a glam rock album id always put bowie on instead but in terms of individual tracks theres deff some highlights.

Queen Of Denmark by John Grant

a couple of decent tracks; Marz, Silver platter club. But on masse just not my thing and considering this it was difficult to listen front to back eap given the length of the album.

Fun album, few standout individual tra ks which isnt per se necessary in a great album but doesnt help. The albums is also incredible bloated at 21 tracks with many hitting 5 plus mins feels a slog in places to get through. Overall however i do love the 90s alt rock vibe of the album and respect the influence the front woman had on what would go on to be some of my fave artists... Paramore, evanescence, Florence. Personally however barring the female front woman i dont feel this brings much of unique value to set it apart from contemporaries

Stankonia by OutKast
Apr 11 2026

9.1 a near no skip just 1 or 2 goofy tracks (call before...). Solid lyricism (with the odd exception), slick style and great production. Doesnt fall into the same issues as other classics of the era namely reliance on features which it obvs uses but tastefully, cee lo and killer mike in particular work great. Just doesnt quite reach the same heights as aquemini (BOB, So fresh, miss jackson all great singles but cant rival aquemini, return of the g or art of storytelling) and has one or two far lower lows (call b4...). Overall however an amazing album in its own right and as much as ive compared it brings something different to aqeumini

Pink Moon by Nick Drake

7 flat love nick drake and the title track is perhaps his best single but i feel like the overall album lacks consistency especially toward the back end. Much prefer bryter layter overall

In Utero by Nirvana

7.7 great grunge instrumentals and a good bit of range in kurts performances but peraonally just not a big fan of kurts voice some good peaks like very ape and heart shaped box like and very constistent
