The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails

like caffeine is angry with their father. Found a little bit hard to listen to at first with the sheer aggression Trent brings but once you settle in to ‘this is the sound’ the album delivers sonic gold. Not sure how quick I’ll go back for a listen but very much enjoyed!

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 09 2026

Some strong songs on here, carried mainly by the power Springsteen brings with his vocal delivery. However even though accompanied by some amazing piano and sax work, nothing feels like this album pulls you back in for further listens - 3.7

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Apr 13 2026

Sorta what feels like the Ed Sheeran of his time, popular in what he wrote and is catchy in certain parts but doesn't hold much substance when diving deeper

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Apr 16 2026

Again like my Zeppelin review, I feel like I finally get 'The Doors' and the influence / energy they brought to their times. Even what felt like a 'blues standard' had a rawness to it through Morrisey's growl and the sharp instrumentation supplied by the rest of the band. Everything sounded like a soundtrack to LA in the 60's, the production, songwriting and lyrics really paint a picture in your mind.

Melodrama by Lorde
Apr 17 2026

This goes down so easy, besides Sober (II) (sounding like a generic trap beat) even the less in your face songs keeps bringing your attention back with interesting production choices, unique melodies / phrasing that you can only hear from Lord.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jun 23 2026

I get it now! Never was impressed by LZ in passing but sitting down and hearing the sonics over a full album, its so easy to understand that they're all masters of their craft with a love for pop and experimentation in structure in their early stages. Look forward to when they come on again!

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jul 01 2026

Where are the dynamics on this album? Tracy's vocals at time sound sincere, by the end of the album having that same delivery on each record, you find it hard to stay with the emotions she is trying to portray through her lyrics. Everything almost sounds too in place as well, so clean ye flat. struggled to make it to the end of this one.
