solid 8/10, I get why they were you popular and still are today! The paved the way for metal and other sub-genres for rock, and they're totally iconic. What surprised me about the album was that there were a few songs that seemed to have no electric guitar, which the name "black Sabbath" suggests they're totally hardcore. So, A little bit of a shock, but I honestly enjoyed the variety. I think I'd listen again, the guitar is mad catchy.
woooow those hairstyles are something else. I surprisingly really like the singers, they sound ahead of their time. I thought they'd be a country band, but I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. The instruments sound really good together, and that female singer pulls it all together. Also, classical instruments in the cover? HELL YEAH!! It's the kind of older music that still slaps, it's aged well. Their sound is unique, and I love that :) some of the slow songs get a little repetitive, but some of those songs are bangers.
Hostestly, I wish I liked it more. I was excited to see this was by Fiona Apple, cause my mom likes her, but I feel like the album fell short. A lot of the songs felt repetitive and had a similar structure. I mean, that's fine, but not what I look for in an album. There was so major differentiation between songs, which can make the album a bit boring at times. I like variety, and when an artist can pull it off it's really enjoyable. I don't think Fiona really executed that for me. I wish there was some kind of climate in her songs, or more string solos accompanied by her vocals.
A few of those songs did hit tho, so it's not all bad. Especially the last one, Carrion, that one is good. Fiona's voice with the string instruments definitely brings the album up from a 2 to a 3 for me. Her voice has a nice range which is a plus. And once again, I'm a sucker for classical instruments used in pop music.
I mean, HE'S iconic, this ALBUM'S iconic, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN is iconic, I feel like a can't not give it a five.
Also really liked this album! Miss Gradenko is pretty good. I'd revisit this album, solid 4/5.
It's not my thing. The singer screams too much in the songs for me, and I just don't see myself vibing with the music. The songs are too long and too repetitive for me, and the screaming is something I can't really get over. It's not even the metal or punk kind of scream singing, which I have an appeal for.
The guitar solos are nice, but they happen so often I feel like they're not special, and it makes me appreciate the less. I wouldn't listen again, but I understand how other people would like it though, I'm not here to yuck someone else's yum.
Yea no, sorry but a five hour album is not necessary. If you listened to the whole thing, you're God's strongest soldier, because I could not do it. It just sounds like bad electro music at a club that would make me want to leave.
I definitely like this album more than the last one I got. I'm using not a super huge fan of blues kind of music, so this surprised me. I t sounds like the kind of music my dad would put on the car, and the kind of concert he'd drag me to "for the experience", so in that way this album feels "homey"
The guitar solos are quite impressive, although they do happen quite a lot so sometimes its a bit repetitive. But overall, it was enjoyable. and whoever was absolutely shredding on that harmonica, go you man, that's badass.
