I'm not sure if I like it yet, but of all the songs from the album I quite fancy 'Since I've Been Loving You'. I personally haven't listened to many 70s albums so this is one of the very few, I will listen to more! I'm only rating it low because I'm not used to the genre.
I'm not a big fan of this genre of jazz, very experimental and unpredictable. I would much rather simple cafe / slow jazz. I also don't like how long each piece is. The longest piece that I would willingly listen to would have to be under 10 minutes, not 20. However, I do think this music would be fitting in a jazz bar, I would be very keen to experience that sometime!
I’m not a big fan of the lead singers vocals, however I will argue that it sounds fitting in the song Animal Nitrate. Admittedly, I did add that song to my playlist, but I don’t think I’ll be adding more. It’s good, just not my cup of tea.
As soon as I heard the melody of the first song I knew I wan’t going to like it. I’m open to a lot of music genres, but this type of rock sounds very country to me, which unfortunately does not satisfy my musical palette.
When I heard the first track I thought… yes, I’m gonna LOVE this. In the middle of the album, I began to slowly get bored of the repetitive tracks. However, when Halcyon started playing I instantly recognised the melody and my love for it. This was electronic at its peak and it got me thinking how albums like this would have sounded much better while being drunk in an underground rave during the 90s. This album has been the best album I’ve listened to on this website so far and it’s reminded me of the diversity of electronic music, which I love so deeply. Also, I especially love how the album gives a futuristic, galaxy-like aesthetic, (although it is in the band’s name)
It’s a bit repetitive. Tbh it’s a very particular vibe, I would’t usually feel like playing this type of rap all the time. I do love 2001 by Dr. Dre but this album does not hit as hard. The only song I love from the album is Let Me Ride. I rate it 2.5, but I have to round it.
I’m open to all kinds of music, however the music fanatic within me has to draw the line when it comes to listening to live albums. I’ve never listened to The Who before and I think it’s not right for me to approach the band’s discography without even listening to a proper album. Don’t get me wrong, after listening to the first song on the live album, I did find the song enjoyable, however when listening to the second track I felt as though I was missing out on important lore that I have no clue about. To sum up my rambling, I cannot appreciate live music without liking the studio version songs first.
It sounds nice but this era of me is not feeling this type of music at the moment.
The music is good but how am I suppose to like a soundtrack of a movie that I've never watched before??
Please don't make me rate more Springsteen music. I can't mentally bare it anymore.
Genuinely wasn't expecting this album to be so good. Might be the start of my latin music era. I give it a solid 3.8.
Words cannot describe how much I love this album. It’s the definition of whimsical and weird. I own many c-d’s and I can say first hand that my c-d of this album has one of the best art and illustration. It’s so insanely creative and that’s the biggest thing that I look forward to when collecting physical media. It’s also the main reason why I decided to listen to the whole album and really unpack it. I could be biased but I believe the Smashing Pumpkins really do deserve 5 stars for this one.
