1001 Albums Summary

As much as I love classic rock, I have to say I never really understood the hype around Van Halen. They are good, the guitar riff on You Got Me Now was excellent, but everything else on the album is just kind of...generic. They are good, just not a group I would get excited over.

I had this album on in the background while I did household chores, and honestly it was just right for that particular activity. Wilco feels more or less like most modern day indie bands, to me there's nothing particularly outstanding about them. Doesn't mean they don't make music that's pleasant to listen to or keep on in the background!

I actually know and really like Teach Your Children and Our House, I didn't know this was the group that did those songs! It definitely captures the general feel of the 70's, that's for sure. Good background music for work, maybe not an album I personally would choose to actively listen to.

Very gender neutral voice to my ear, I have never heard her music before and legitimately thought I was listening to a man for most of the album. Songs are nice and short and to the point, very easy to listen to. Nice mix of mild tribal with country elements (I'm probably wildly wrong on that, but that's what it sounds like to me)

Never heard of this man before today, at least I don't think I have. Good background music, gives me folk/praise/hippie vibes. Again, not my normal genre, but still good. It's just a bit hard to understand the lyrics further into the album. Almost makes you think he was high when he recorded some of the songs (but then again, it was probably the norm for his time period).
