1001 Albums Summary

Ok, here’s a little secret. I love big band Jazz. I kinda wish I lived in this era. This album is one of the best of them. Basie’s comeback that rescued the whole damn band! Makes me want to watch baseball where they use a giant glove that actually looks like a hand and wear baggy uniforms, eat a steak while drinking liquor and smoking a long cigarette blissfully ignorant that all three will kill me, and wear a cool hat.

More swing jazz! Let’s go! Any album that starts “I’m just a Gigolo…” is gonna hit. Add an OG dis-track and you have a killer album.

Every song just like the last. Just never got these guys. I so want to like them and so don’t.

Enter Sandman is 5+ min long? I liked this album better than I expected and less than I wanted to.

Reason this one is a standard.
