Some really great tracks on this album.
I was not looking forward to this album. I’d heard a lot of JT as a child of a dedicated hard rock dad in the 70’s. I really enjoyed the gritty hard rock tracks like Aqualung and Locomotive Breath. I did not enjoy the folksy tracks. I can truly appreciate this as a pioneering album that seems pre-metal, pre-progressive rock. They definitely paved the way for what came in the rest of the 70’s and 80’s. This is a long review for a band I don’t like!
Very British Invasion. I was not overly impressed by any track, I felt like I was listening to a movie soundtrack. I don’t think I’d ever heard most of these tracks before, Nothing to Say seemed really familiar. The one thing I will say, this album was much more cohesive than all the other albums by the Kinks. They seem all over the place later on.
Great album
This album was okay. I’d heard Toundabput and Long Distance Runaround when I was younger. I was never a Yes fan. I would classify this as experimental. Lots of jumping around from one genre to another. I’m sure my dad is still listening to this on his way to the store…
Cinnamon Girl is a great opener. The rest of the tracks are okay. I’m not a Neil Young fan, I can appreciate his musical and songwriting talent. Not a bad listen.
Great album with some great tracks. I could easily skip Mother as well as some others.
This album challenges and soothes my ND brain. The beat is predictable then shifts with complications afford in. Mini explosions within each song provide hits of excitement. Brings me back to the 90’s when I was young and athletic and all the other 20-something’s were at raves loaded up on X, not me though.
I love Bjork’s voice. I think the music is great and creative. I do not think the two combined well. This album seems experimental, like someone finding their niche.
Very 90’s. I’m not sure how this band got so popular back then. This whole album was so bland. This is the band playing in the background of a teen house party in a 90’s movie. Even worse, I had to suffer through all the songs a second time but the DEMO version.
Much better than I expected. I could picture my mom listening to this.
If you listen to this, you definitely listen when you’re getting busy with that special someone. Not my style but I can see the talent in the music.
A classic. Immigrant Song is a timeless classic. This album seems to be the band’s slow dhift from old blues to their own rock style. A great listen.
Very folksy. Exactly what I expected. A good album overall.
Much better than I anticipated. Nice mix of styles, well done. I feel like I’ve been listening to my dad’s 8-tracks.
