1001 Albums Summary

I used to like this album quite a lot, but listening to it again it feels a little meandering and low energy. The lyrics are still the highlight for me, but the whispery vocals don’t convey much emotion.

Noisy, chaotic, layered beats and samples that still sound great today. The conviction in Chuck D’s vocals really sell the messages. I like the raw sound compared to the polished production you usually get now.

She has a good voice, but not dynamic enough for me
