Hotel California by Eagles

- hard to swallow, feels like dad rock from another era. - saccharine - theres nothing to hate per se, it's just so slick and soulless for music that should be deserts and rough edges -HOW IS THIS SO EASY????? i really want this to end.

Melodrama by Lorde

Reed introduced me to this album in second year, at a time when I was allergic to the influence of others. A tendency I still have, that I cover up by saying that my lateness is simply slowness of memory. A gorgeous ballet. That Spanish guitar solo on Mode D is PERFECTION. Feels like New York.

- love the sampling on zealots -intriguing sample work - i wonder what the purpose of skits are in rap albums, interesting sonic texture and bit of drama--pushes what sound can be -lost me at times.

Faith by George Michael

Faith: crisp rhythm beats, something spacious and sparse about the arrangement until the guitars really come in ... it's such a clean sound. Father Figure: strains against the space that floats above the mix, cat like whisper -- vocals feel in the middle of the mix, piercing through. Sounds like a Prince song. I Want our Sex: oh the 80's cheese has ARRIVED! Do your best Prince Rogers Nelson. a lot of MJ impersonating Hand to Mouth is an oddly lush yet angular synth track that prefigures Sade in some way, some spanish guitar trilling -- compelling look at your hands: this seems like a bryan ferry track that was wrung out of all its requisite loucheness. it makes me sad. final track is boring but neat. close the bar!!!

THIS IS SUCH A CHORE TO GET THROUGH. Like it sounds like a charisma-free slurry of other bands.
