day 1 — The White Album — The Beatles (1968) genre: rock? 😭 some pop and folky sounding songs too runtime: 93 min rating: 2.5/5 not for me personally but wasn’t a total waste of time fav track: while my guitar gently weeps thoughts: some of these songs do not gotta be here lmfao this is a double album and the first disc was promising but by the second disc i was soo over it man it does have some gems tho overall it ain’t awful i just think it’s one of the weaker albums from this band maybe im being too critical ill give it another listen someday oh shit and blackbird is in this album loll i couldn’t stop thinking abt boss baby

day 2 — Get Behind Me Satan — The White Stripes (2005) genre: experimental rock? lots of blues influence as well runtime: 44 min rating: 1.5/5 fav track: 🫩🫩 idek LMFAO thoughts: i don’t know much abt the white stripes besides their song seven nation army err this one wasn’t really for me. not the type of sound i usually listen to and i wasn’t a huge fan of the vocals which kinda held it back for me. i wanted to give it a chance but none of the songs rlly did much for me and i don’t see myself coming back to this one much. from what i read this album is considered one of their most experimental works and seems to be a bit divisive among fans so i’d still be willing to check out another album from them.

day 5 — Frank — Amy Winehouse (2003) genre: neo soul runtime: 54 min rating: 3.5/5 fav track: know you now thoughts: maybe unpopular opinion cuz i see a lot of ppl dislike this album 😭 this is my favorite album of hers. the jazz influence is so strong and these songs are just great. i think for a debut album this is some of her best work

day 6 — Hunky Dory — David Bowie (1971) genre: art pop runtime: 42 min rating: 2.5/5 fav track: life on mars? thoughts: i think i need to listen to more of his music to rlly get a feel for it. life on mars? is prettyy good and overall this wasn’t a waste of time. i think i will revisit it bc some of the songs didn’t click for me on the first listen

day 7 — Violent Femmes — Violent Femmes (1983) genre: folk punk runtime: 44 min rating: 1.5/5 (dnf) fav track: thoughts: dnf 😭 i got through about half of it and just wasn’t enjoying it, so i skimmed through the rest and nothing rlly clicked but i added a .5 cuz this album sounds pretty modern despite being from the 80s 🤔 just not my vibe
