Moving Pictures by Rush
Jun 26 2026

instrumentally sound, vocals were rly annoying and offputting for the music. and how the songwriting works around them ruins much of the potential of the songs and instrument playing (even when the lyrics are sound and fine). it all sounds a bit too sanitized honestly (except for yyz). B-side was much more cluttered and tatters the consistency from the first side. H4.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jun 27 2026

the music begs for you to leave it in the background. elements are interesting at first glace. however, after about 10 seconds of focused listening, the brain wanders off... it's inherently interlude music: it sounds like the type of music in between the main musical numbers or when you're waiting for the main show to begin (which isn't a negative thing imo-- it sounds fine and it's well-played). but when it's entirely an album of just that, it doesn't make for a good listening session or a high-quality album. = highly repetitive and boringly inoffensive. H3.

a little one-note, but damn that does it sound abs gorgeous and soo infectious! L8.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jun 29 2026

nothing mind blowing but the music just oozes a sense of familiarity even on first listens. i expect this to grown more with time; there's a reason why this is an all-timer. H7.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jun 30 2026

genuinely a pleasant surprise. i was expecting to hate this but it's a good mix of electronic, rap, and heavy music that never felt overbearing or too cringy. a lot of it blended together and was hard to stand out between songs, but it was a great whole album listen regardless. i could def see it growin on me. L7.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jul 01 2026

truly bizarre. all over the place but truly feels like its own. i knew of zappa's character before this is absolutely more than i could have expected. genuinely shocking and ahead of the curve now, i can't imagine how it felt in the 60s holy shit. the type of album that'll def grow with familiarity. H7.
