Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Dec 11 2025

THaNK GOD we started off good, I listened to this on my own a little over a year ago and it has to be including as one of my favourites from Miles' discography. (Thanks in part to my lovely king Gerry Mulligan) I remember transcribing Jeru and a couple other lines from this album way back then. It is cool jazz so easy on the ears compared to the avant-garde stuff that I blast while playing plastic trumpet in the shower Two 10s on this album and it never really drops in quality. Well I'm showing these to my friends so guess its time to actually write real reviews (Hi Eugene) I still think this project is better than Bags' Groove (And tpab). Bishop gotta listen to some more jazz this is overground twin ✌

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Dec 12 2025

When the strings came in on the first track I started ascending. The horn lines the vocals its perfect holy shit. Probably my favourite soul album ever and top 20 albums of all time. I was so close to pushing this to 100. I got up out of chair started dancing cleaning my room gAD damn. Worth 3 listens its so damn good. Me and @bishopbnm were spamming damn on discord for the entire runtime. Im showing this to my bands guitarist and she might give this a 100. LORD ITS SO PEAK UGH

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Dec 13 2025

I'm not a bluegrass fan, nor am I familiar with the history of this album but from my perspective, it sounds average. The chords are painfully stagnant, the guitar and piano lines seem dull, and the vocals are alright. Its not bad music by any standard but the repetitiveness is what kills the whole album for me. Check out a few tracks but the full album listen might become boring. 58/100 aoty

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Dec 14 2025

I would say as an album, its fairly standard. Its never stale due to the switching artists. Due to that same fact, it becomes INCREDIBLY inconsistent, with my ratings going from 3s to 9s. Its worth a listen dont get me wrong. Its just not my personal taste. I find some of the vocals corny and the instrumentals to be repetitive. 63/100 aoty

Ive heard this album as a kid and I remember loving it The symbolism is what makes it and maybe im just too much of a posh nerd to understand but I feel like this album is slightly overrated. Its good. Nirvana is great. But top 5 greatest live is kinda much. 49/100 aoty

Back to Mystery City by Hanoi Rocks
Dec 16 2025

lowkey we got this album and dipped for like a month lmao our asses did not wanna do this well, for 1001 albums you MUST hear im surprised this is here because there are 1001 albums that have this sound that are slightly more engaging in summary its boring and i wasted 41 minutes. Every song was average, and me and bishy wishy senpai shanky pookie pie had the same opinion

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Dec 17 2025

The baboon has now become dinner. First electronic album ever??? Its really cool to hear where it all originated from and I can see how this album helped shape the modern day. Lena Raine, C418, and some fishman connections were made. the first track was the standout as natural but the shorter songs felt like padding more than anything. i LOVE my eb tuning drone. The connections to the german highway were very apparent and were made very clear. I found it cool how they mimiced train bells with keyboards depitched and cars with well, cars. The last song hit though because me and this dumbass were talking bout some chinese baboon getting eaten by a leopard. that last song was STRAIGHT national geographic music . the baboon has now become dinner
