Prince's creme de la creme, purple rain is just as funky, synthy and 80s as you could ask for!!!

Really strong funky and enjoyable introduction into the album with songs perfectly flowing into one another with an interlude here and there to carry the album on. Centre half of the album has a great groove and the features so far have been really interesting choices - beautiful contrast of slow and fast rhythms and grooves. Later half of the album starts to slow down the album with the one dud song with "of Montreal" which was a shocking misstep I feel in the overall direction of the album and was unlistenable. Closing out the album however redeems this with slower and angelic-like deeper cuts. I would definitively revist this album again and relive the groove of the first half of the album, overall a really interesting listen and album concept.

Perfect album by the Eagles. Could play the album front to back, side to side, left to right if I could!

Very up beat and well executed for the time period, full of energy and rich instrumentation which makes you want to get up and dance. Not an album I personally would revisit anytime soon but a great appreciation for the work as a whole.

Absolutely incredible album from Dire Straits and likely one of the best debut albums for a band of all time. Throughout the grooves and guitar licks Mark Knopfler completely runs free through all things fast and slow. Each song feels uniquely different to one another and thematic - it feels like a soundtrack I'd imagine cowboys would ride home to. Sultans of Swing? Do I need to say anymore???
