Central Reservation by Beth Orton

Wake up, babe! New coffeehouse playlist just dropped! In all seriousness, I don't see what sets this album apart from all the other female singer-songwriters of the 90s (Sarah McLaughlin, Paula Cole, etc.). The only exception is the "Central Reservation - The Then Again Version". If the whole album was more like this, I could see including it here as a 1999 release.

Bummed by Happy Mondays

It's definitely 80s. First track was horrible, second was OK.

Knew many of the tracks on here in advance, but really liked a few of the deeper cuts (She's Leaving Home, Good Morning Good Morning). This album would get five stars from one of the greatest songs ever recorded (Day in the Life) regardless, but impressed with the depth.

To finger paint is not a sin...

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jul 23 2026

Funky seasoned with funk and a side of funk. 4/9 songs are covers, but funky. BASS. Still, can't give it a high ranking.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Jul 28 2026

Can definitely hear the influence this album has had on other rock artists. A thirty year old writing a love song to a sixteen year old is creepy.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Jul 29 2026

7/10. Couple of classics on here, bit of filler, bit of experimentation.

Timeless by Goldie
Jul 30 2026

18 minutes for track one seemed a bit excessive. Not that it was bad mind you, but it wasn't 20 minutes long good. That's pretty much the theme of the album for me. Couple of tracks I might go back to for racing games

1984 by Van Halen

Grew up with a lot of these tracks as a kid that listened to a ton of classic rock - Hot for Teacher sounds great even 40 years after release. Not the best VH album, but still pretty damn good.

Guero by Beck

It was fine. Some cool tones/fuzz, some cool parts.
