I was already familiar with 'Time to Pretend' and 'Kids' prior to listening to the full album as I remember hearing them a lot when I was younger so, naturally, I'm quite fond of them. I just think they sound fun and unique. 'Kids' especially makes me feel super nostalgic because I had a phase a few years ago where I would listen to it on repeat. The rest of the album was okay, but none of the remaining songs stood out to me quite as much as the two songs previously stated. Maybe I'm just blinded by nostalgia. I simply found the other songs somewhat bland, like I wouldn't change the station if they were playing on the radio but I also wouldn't actively seek them out to listen to. Either way, it was a pleasant listen but it just isn't something I'd see myself listening to on the regular. I can see how people like this album though. FAVOURITE SONG FROM THIS ALBUM: Kids

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jul 21 2026

First thoughts: I'm not the target audience for this I like the crab on the album cover, and that is just about it. Outside of that, it was mediocre. I can see why people enjoy this sort of music, but it just really isn't for me. To each their own. I ended up feeling quite bored whilst listening to this, especially at the end when I practically had to force myself to finish the album in its entirety. The songs all just blended into one without any of them standing out as memorable. They also felt kind of repetitive, which isn't always a bad thing in music - however, this album spends 56 minutes being repetitive. It wasn't unlistenable, but I'm not going to lie and say that I would listen to it again.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jul 22 2026

Honestly, it was kind of a rough listen. I'd never listened to Led Zeppelin prior to this but I had heard so many people praise them and their music a lot, so I went into this with pretty high expectations and hopes. Especially when Led Zeppelin is considered as such an influential band. My only thoughts after my listen is they are overrated. I don't see the hype for them. It was just a bunch of boring repeated guitar riffs and high-pitched scream-singing (which got really grating after a while). It just isn't catchy enough for me. I spent most of the album thinking about what music I would play after as a sort of palate cleanser. It was fundamentally good music-wise, I guess. But just because something is considered good doesn't mean you have to like it.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jul 23 2026

I don't really have that much to say about this one. It was by no means bad but it just isn't my kind of music. I also have no complaints either. I actually expected to dislike the album and was pleasantly surprised by it. Still not for me though.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Jul 24 2026

I honestly could not finish this album for the life of me. I got 8 songs in before calling it quits. They all sounded the same and I had lost all hope of any of the remaining songs sounding even remotely unique. I just don't think that rock, as a genre, is for me. That's not to say that there aren't rock songs that I enjoy, but they are few and far between - especially in comparison to other genres. 'Black Hole Sun' was the only song I actually liked, and that's because I saw it used in an edit of Dark Souls 3.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jul 27 2026

It was pretty groovy, as I expected, and I enjoyed listening to it for the most part. Some of the songs were quite long though, alongside some of the guitar solos. There was just so much guitar. So, so much guitar. How much guitar is too much guitar? I appreciate that Jimi Hendrix is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and I completely agree with that statement. But I wish some of the overly drawn out solos had been cut down so that the songs weren't as long winded as they were, it would've made it an easier listen. I did enjoy listening to it, but there are so many other albums that I enjoy listening to more. It would be a 3.5/5, however that isn't an option and this album isn't quite good enough (in my opinion) to be a 4/5, so 3/5 it is.

Melodrama by Lorde
Jul 28 2026

I genuinely just didn't like it. The songs were boring and her voice got somewhat irritating about three tracks in. So I ended up skimming over the rest of the songs, simply listening to brief snippets of them until I had heard enough. Normally I like listening to them in full, but I just couldn't do it for this one. I can think of so many different albums that deserved to be on this list more than this one. There was just nothing that stood out to me about it. It was just another generic pop album. Better pop albums exist. There are other albums that I have listened to on this list, whilst they weren't for me, I could still see their significance and influence on the music scene. This one just felt forgettable.

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Jul 29 2026

This is my eighth album. It’s the fourth rock album I’ve had. Make it stop. All the songs sounded the same and followed the same formula: aggressive guitar, jarring vocals, loud drums. It just isn't for me. Not one bit. My mum ripped ass whilst I was listening to this. It sounded more pleasant than this godforsaken album. If hell was actually a real place and I ended up down there (for whatever reason) playing this album on repeat would be an effective method of eternal torture. No amount of tolerance training would ever prepare for hearing this over and over and over again. The lyrics were straight ass and the songs were straight nose pollution. ESPECIALLY the lyrics on ‘Jailbait’, that song alone would've given this album 0 out of 5. Unfortunately, that isn't an option, so 1 out of 5 was my only choice. I didn't even want to listen to it after seeing the title, but I remained out of an unwilling curiosity to see if it would be as bad as I thought. I stopped listening after that song, I didn't need to OR want to hear any more. Actual dogshit.

Entertainment by Gang Of Four
Jul 30 2026

It was okay to listen to. It just wasn't melodic enough for me; that’s just a personal preference though. Some parts of the songs were catchy, but the remaining parts weren't really catchy enough to make up for it. I feel like this album deserves a second listen, not sure when I’ll get around to it though. However, on first listen, it’s a solid 3/5. I like the album cover, specifically the three story panels on the side.

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Jul 31 2026

This was the shortest album I've had so far, and I still couldn't finish it. While listening, I realised that I not only dislike this style of music but I also dislike the singer's voice. I just don't know what to fully make of it. I didn't exactly hate it but it isn't something I’d willingly listen to again.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Aug 03 2026

Not much to say about this one. It was an easy listen, I have no complaints, and it was solid all throughout. I particularly liked the piano in 'Weep Themselves To Sleep'. Aside from that, none of the songs really stood out to me which is why I am rating it a 3/5.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Aug 04 2026

A pleasant and easy listen. It was a bit of a rocky start with the first song, but it got better in the second half and every song after that was pretty good. However, none of them were actually memorable. I'm writing this review a couple hours after listening and I only remember vague snippets from some of the songs. For a song/album to stick out to me, it needs to have me humming the songs after I've finished listening to them. It should have me wanting to listen to the song/album again. And whilst this was a solid album, I doubt I'll be listening to it again. Besides, I prefer a lot of Bowie's older albums. This one didn't have that same affect on me as the other ones do.

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
Aug 07 2026

I saw dream-pop, I like dream-pop, and I get mildly disappointed. A tragedy. It wasn't awful by any means, it just wasn't quite what I was expecting. So I kind of set myself up for this one. It just didn't hit the same way a lot of other dream-pop songs I like do. It was honestly a bit of a drag.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Aug 10 2026

Catchy and fun, I really enjoyed this album. I was hooked from the moment it started and was nodding my head to the beat all throughout. ‘Freedom’, ‘React’, and ‘Remember His Name’ all stood out to me, but my personal favourite is ‘Thin Line’. This is actually my first 4/5 rating - it would be a 4.5/5 but that isn't an option :( Will for sure be listening again!

I never really cared for the Arctic Monkeys prior to listening to this. I'd heard some of their songs from time to time and they were actually alright, but for some reason I was never enticed enough to listen to some of their other songs - like these ones. Upon listening to this album, I can see why the songs of theirs that I have heard are more popular. This album was totally fine, there was nothing wrong with it. The songs just weren't as good as some of their other ones.
