Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jul 23 2026

Not a very good Doors album. I think I can only take them in low doses too. He's very melancholy and his change in tempo and singing style mid song is jolting. Aside from the first track, Roadhouse Blues, I don't think there is anything good here.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jul 24 2026

While the titular track is immediately recognizable and I was initially very excited for this album, my initial excitement quickly waned once I realized with the exception of Mo' Onions, all the tracks on this album are just instrumental covers of popular songs.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jul 25 2026

Maybe if I heard this before Ok Computer is love it. But with that context it's just... Ok. Life in a Glass House saves the album. But it's still not great.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jul 27 2026

Who is anyone kidding, this is 10 out of 5 stars. And the crazy thing is this probably isn't even their best album. A joy to listen to. And as eponymous as the titular track is for Floyd and this album, it's not even my favorite on here by a long about. I'm not sure what is, but Mother and Good Bye Bluesky are up there.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jul 28 2026

Honestly, the album is great in a vacuum. I am not sure its the best album of all time as NME ranked it, but its good. The production it is incredible, and iconic. Johnny Marr is fantastic on guitar. On repeat listenings the vocal stylings of Morrissey grow on you, no matter how pretentious he is. *outside of a vacuum and in the context of the pretentious hipsters I went to college with, its a hard listen.

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Jul 29 2026

Is it worth hearing before you die? I don't know. Wiki cites the fact that several great musicians have studied this album as inspiration for their live performances, but that doesn't make something inherently great for general audiences. Is it important? Sure. Am I confused why its on this list? Yeah. I have tried to review albums, and not the list itself, but I am a week in and i've gotten 2 albums that are all covers and this.

Back to Mystery City by Hanoi Rocks
Jul 30 2026

This is the reason why I am using this list. Before today, even though I knew Hanoi Rocks existed, I can't say that I have ever heard any of their music. As far as the album, I am not sure there's much here, i'd want to come back to. I am in the middle of my second listen to it, and nothing is standing out to me. It's good background music, but it's hard to say that there are any ear worms here.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Jul 31 2026

This is the first album on the list so far that I have found to be a challenging listen. The first track finishes... weird. Shameika is discordant at times. By the time we get to Rack of His the album has found it's footing, and I even found the first tracks more enjoyable on a second listening. I am not sure what to rate this, so I am glad to have time to reflect between listening and rating. At the end of the day I enjoyed it, and glad I listened to it, which is the point of going through this list. To discover things I had never heard.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Aug 01 2026

Its Sabbath. Fantastic debut album. I don't think they have found their voice here completely, it's not Paranoid, but what is?

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Aug 04 2026

I have listened to this album more times than I can count. Tom Morello is one of my favorite guitarists, certainly of the 90's on. I don't think there is a bad song on this album. I can easily listen to it through and through, no skips. I was shocked to find out there were only 4 songs on this released as singles (40% of the album) and I feel like Take the Power Back and Know Your Enemy should have been released as singles too, at a minimum.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Aug 05 2026

Not my bag. Pink Moon is about the only song here that resonates with me.

Eternally Yours by The Saints
Aug 06 2026

I certainly enjoyed listening to it. I don't know that there is a stand out track for me or that I will be revisiting the album. But I enjoyed it.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Aug 08 2026

Do you want Jazz Flute? Cause this is how you get Jazz Flute. Also someone else left a review saying Hobbit Rock made by actual Hobbits I agree with their assessment, but not the 2 stars they left. Jethro Tull is awesome.
