1001 Albums Summary

Consistent quality record, little too consistent in terms of sound.

All vibe. Almost perfect, dances with getting lost in the vibe over an hour in length though. Otherwise songs are distinct and meaningful, so many big moments and genre-transcendent song writing. It feels like a concert set, for a tour, meant for a crowd. Length adds - to a mainstream listener - a little filler - thus stopping a 5 star.

Clearly a talented Dude, the songwriting is peak. So perhaps it’s just something about that 80s synthesiser Beverly Hills Cop sound I just don’t gel with. Few songs from five out of five album, half to about maybe 2/3 just not quite there for me.

Nostalgia, but hanging heavy on the famous bangers (timeless rare writing gold). Kinda makes me think Blur are like a modern Kinks.

Why is this horseshit anywhere near this list?!
