1001 Albums Summary

My introduction to jazz. An expressive, pleading album. At times, the record reaches for uplifting hieghts and others dips into near-despondancy. The go to record I would recommend if anyone wants to get into the genre.

Have enjoyed slightly more on the second go around, however still have a hard time with this one. I appreciate the experimentation with sounds but the intended exuberhance comes off corny instead to me. Some good harmonies throughout the tracks

Not the best A Tribe Called Quest album but you can already see what a magnificent group they would become. This record is much more Q-Tip focus and therefore a little less dynamic in the storytelling point of view compared to later records
