A very nice surprise! Never heard of the artist or album, and it was very good. Lots of old Marvin Gaye and old Motown feel, but with modern twist. It's a keeper.
The songs from this album were everywhere on the radio in the 80s, so I did not listen to the whole album in sitting until this. Good, consistent album. Not really my style, but I'm on Fire is stellar.
If you can get past all of the misogyny and macho crap, it's an interesting album with great beats and some poignant lyrics. It's also pretty funny, and I laughed at some of the lines. I can see why it's in the list.
While not my top Jimi Hendrix album, it is still fantastic and a must listen. Great guitar work.
An ambitious album with a 20 minute opening song. The musicianship is excellent. Getty Lee can be hit or miss for me depending on the song. You can hear a lot of elements that will appear in later albums.
Despite a couple of not so great tracks (Girlfriend and Out of my Life), the rest are bangers. A very solid album that makes me rethink my distaste for disco music. Definitely worth a listen!
