1001 Albums Summary

I prefer this to the other Neil Young I've heard but something just misses with Neil Young's vocal style and writing for me. Best Tracks: Down by the River, Cowgirl in the Sand 7.5/10

Already listened many times. Tonally brilliant, stand out tracks are excellent. I feel Hendrix struggled to make cohesive album length projects, in this case it would've been so tight at a standard 45ish minutes. So many double lps of the 60s and 70s Rock albums went way overboard on length imho 6/10

Personally more of a SMILE enjoyer and actually like the beach boys a lil less coherent. its truly pretty beautiful and has very few duds on the list but sill manages to be one of the most over rated pieces of music ever released. Best tracks: Wouldn't it be nice, I'm waiting for the day 9/10

Its super pretty, and I couldn't possibly give it a bad score but I don't see myself returning for more solo concert pianist's live albums anytime soon 7.5/10

Nice, this is the last pre 2000 Kate Bush release I was yet to listen to. Its pretty good, as expected but not one of her strongest releases. Some of the tracks stand alongside her best while other segments of the album began feeling somewhat drawn out. Best track: Rocket's Tail, 6/10

Yeah its fucking good, it is less good than I remember it being but I guess I just like New Wave less than I used to Fav track: Mongoloid 7.5/10

Absolute fire, not a dull track, some of the most distinct and recognisable electronic music of all time This fits with the list better than many so far in that it really is essential listening. The Prodigy have a super deserved spot for actually bringing this kind of break beat to the mainstream. Glad its here but it really highlights the short comings of the list for me, like how is this sitting amongst Kate Bush and Neil young's less known records. So many game changing albums excluded so we can fit entire discographies 70's artists Best tracks: Break and Enter, Full Throttle 9.5/10

I feel like the jazz albums are less over represented on this list and also cover so many sub genres. As such I think ill end up giving most of them near/perfect scores Glad this prompted a re listen, love the chaos this brings compared to some of his other work. Fav track: Bitches Brew

Stylistically this is my least favourite LCD album pre American Dream but holy shit it flows together so nicely. So well thought out as a whole project. Dude really is the master of slowly building layers in a really satisfying way. Best tracks: Sounds of Silver, Get innocuous 8/10

Never was an Iron Maiden fan but its aight 5/10
