Rumours by Fleetwood Mac

I remember this album being better than it is to be honest. There are still amazing songs on this album, never going back again, oh daddy and gold dust woman will always be stand outs and there are classic fleetwood mac tracks on this album, but as an “album” it doesn’t work for me as much as it used to. This is not to say that it isn’t an absolute work of art, and probably much better than 75% of the albums on this list.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades

I never really listen to salsa but this album is definitely staying around for me! The complexity of each song is so delicious (there is no other way to put it) and as an opening track, Plástico does absolutely everything. It doesn’t get five stars purely because I don’t really have a frame of reference, but it could easily be a five upon revision. Also trombone appreciation means it couldn’t possibly fall below a four.

Already one of my favourite albums of all time by one of my favourite bands of all time. Not their best, so will be getting a four, but that may change depending on what other albums end up on this list.

Love this album as well! Will have to be a five just because I can't think of another album from this epoch that I love more!

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Oct 21 2026

Has such a distinct early 80s sound which is crazy given the state of the london music scene in 1979. in saying that it’s not the most impressive thing i’ve ever heard. i would maybe go back to one or two songs.

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line

fine album. it’s not on spotify anymore and nothing to write home about. You can hear the influence of the stooges and the ramones and i’d rather listen to them.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Oct 23 2026

Just a whole lot of whining hooting hollering whimpering and whinging.

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Oct 25 2026

Gets better in the second half but is very monotonous in the first.

Rio by Duran Duran

I never realised how good this album is cover to cover

Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
Oct 28 2026

I was so happy when I saw this album come up on this list. Such an influential album. Do I listen to it a lot? No. Does it have a certain place in my life? Absolutely. I've never been able to listen to industrial and experimental music unless I'm in a specific mood but this album is always a go to. So unnerving and mentally stimulating. I would give it a 3 because of the fact that I only listen to it occasionally, but seeing how most people rate it, its getting a 4. This album deserves more love than some of you guys are giving it: you would have a conniption if you listed to early DAF or Einstürzende Neubauten.

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark

one of my favourite albums again! Just had such a great sound and as an album has really nice range without feeling disjointed.
