1001 Albums Summary

What an album to start with. The sound of the album is very strong for its time, and was fundamental to a lot of modern rock. The influence of Bowie as the producer can be heard, but the most striking thing is obviously Reeds distinct vocal performance. I'm still not 100% sure I like it, but its obvious its key to the success of the album. It's hard to not let walk on the wild side overshadow everything else, but there are some solid others in sons like satellite of love or vicious. Overall a solid listen, fundamental to the genre.

Quite funky, and an enjoyable listen. I dont think id go out of my way to listen to any of these songs, but as a progression of steely dan they are notable. Quite musically complex featuring many studio musicians gives the album a polished feel. Overall pretty good.

Really interesting. I went into the album with high hopes having enjoyed everything I heard from them before. Some of those aspects came through in the album, particularly in Uh Oh Love comes to town, pulling up, and obviously psycho killer. But besides those individual highlights was actually quite mediocre. I would still listen to again, as their style absolutely matches what i like to listen to in my free time, but would probably prefer to pick and choose than the project as a whole.

Of the time, and one of the founders of psychedelic pop. Sounds like it and works well. Not my style, but still an effective album

I feel like there isnt a lot to say, stellar album. The core of the titular track into with a little help from my friends into lucy in the sky with diamonds is some of the best music ive listened to. I am nostalgic for the Beatles as a whole, but even among their catalog, its one of the best.
