Everything about this just evokes such a specific time and place that I want nothing to do with. This whole vibe is just so empty and vapid. I can't take this seriously.
Oh God. I worked for HMV the year this came out and this would be one of the five albums picked for the stereo every day. It still gives me PTSD. He seems like he'd be a lovely guy to hang out with, so long as he doesn't have his guitar, but the music is possibly the reason the term "toxic positivity" was coined. Spent the time I was re-engaging with this after 20 years out of body waiting for it to be over.
