Probably a be of the best debut albums of all time. Besides the skits there isn’t a bad song on here. A much more humbler time in Kanye’s career. Also one of my top 3 Kanye albums depending on my mood. Could listen to this daily it’s stellar, exciting, fun, rhythmic. It’s just that good. 9.3/10 without skits. 8.7/10 with skits.

I don’t know how a cee lo green album made this list. He’s not very good. This album felt like it would easily forgotten during the 2000s. There were several better albums then. Only a couple songs on this album were okay. His voice and singing style is a bit weird. The beats and vibe was ok but nothing special. 3.9/10

It’s like a mix of moby and smash mouth except not a good combination. They have that 90s feel to it but it’s in no way a rap album. Nothing special here. 5.1/10

Excellent early rap album. Chuck Ds lyrics and rap style is among the best. The beats are hard and not overly funky like other late 80s early 90s. This album is far more influential than most other rap albums. Not my favorite rap album but it gets a bump for the legacy. 9.0/10

Probably one of my favorite albums. Van Morrison makes some of the most soothing and relaxing songs that feel personal. The lyrics are great. The jazzy instruments are wonderful. It’s a tough call between this and astral weeks but both are top notch. 9.3/10

Starts funky/ska style. Hits it stride in the middle. “I could have lied” helps the album progress through to their hits. Enjoyable. Longer album that covers several sub genres throughout.

Entertaining 80s pop rock. Title song is excellent but there are other enjoyable songs along the way. Very heavy 80s synth club feel which dates the album but possibly the best of its kind. 6.7

Not my taste in alt rock. Don’t love their big hits and the other songs aren’t any better. Started decent but never picked up. Fireplace is a bad song. 3.8/10

Not my style. Couldn’t get interested in it. Listened twice and both times I got bored by the third song. Apparently critics love it. I don’t get it. 2.4/10

Heavy ballad themed album. Meatloaf combines dramatic opera with rock music. I don’t find it interesting but it’s different. Two out of three ain’t bad is a decent song. Overall it’s just ok. 5.4/10

Bunch of casual beats which is great if you’re in a video game or high given the albums name. Not my type of music. 2/10

Enjoyable album of early hard rock, metal. Prefer this kind of Black Sabbath over their popular hits. A bit more raw. Songs are long and change up a bit which is unique. Slightly above average for me. 7.1/10

Pretty good album of guitar riffs and classic rock songs. Some of the songs get creative and pull inspiration from other genres. Longer songs that don’t feel too long. 7.6/10

Interesting album. Style is much different. The distortions and inaudible lyrics are unique and sometimes it’s easy to drown into other times it feels useless. A bit too indie for me but it’s definitely creative. Might grow over time but after two attempts it’s ok. 5.5/10

Excellent indie album. Fleet foxes has such a unique sound that is melodic and fluid throughout the whole album. 8.6/10

Songs drag on a majority of the time often reaching over 5 minutes except they just repeat the generic hook. Only a few songs are worthwhile which doesn’t make this Springsteen album much to come back to. 6.4/10

Trent Reznor creates some u inquest music and I’ve always enjoyed their bigger hits. The whole album is pretty good but just short of great. The songs are dark and instrumentals are experimental. 8.3/10

Above average album. Enjoy the beastie boys but this album had several instrumental interludes that didn’t seem necessary. Prefer their first album over this one. 6.6/10

Album starts as a unique indie song that is good. Everything after that is nothing special and a bit too indie for my taste. Overall not really pleased. 2.9/10

Always enjoyable finding a classic song that I never knew the artist. Some of the songs on this album are great. (Mambo sun and Bang a Gong) Some songs are ok but lacking that quality to get to the next step. Pretty good album just shy of great. 7.2/10

The third pj Harvey album and still not enjoying them. The mess were in is the best song I’ve heard yet from her only because thom Yorke sings with her. Still not an album for me. 2.6/10

So there’s two versions of this album. Uk and US. US has paint it black which is a classic but it also has the high hat going constantly on high and dry. UK is a little long and ordered differently. Overall it’s a good early stones album where they still have the blues influences but not their best. I’d say both versions are a 7.7/10

Great album from start to finish. Hard to say if there’s even a bad song on it. Many reggae classics on this. Listened many times before and will continue to listen to it. 9.2/10

The clash is a legendary band of Brit Punk Rock. I feel London calling is a better album but this one was still pretty decent. Nothing truly great but it was a good listen. 7.1/10

For an early 90s rap album Cypress Hill made something unique. Some of the songs are heavily weed based but that’s what they’re known for. The album is good but not as good as Black Sunday. 6.4/10

Janis Joplin is famous for dying before her times. She has a unique voice that doesn’t hold back. Some of the songs on this album are great. Bobby McGee is a classic. Overall it’s pretty good. 6.7/10

Pretty good album by ghostface. The features were solid. Interesting to have the same song on there twice but with different artists. Lyrically it was good but not great. 7.2/10

The album is better as a whole than the songs are by themself. The standout song grounds for divorce is good. The whole album is relatively seamless but it’s pretty good. Nothing exceptional. For a first time listen I enjoyed it. 7.4/10

Queen latifah paved the way for female rappers. Lyrically she’s pretty good but the late 80s rap style is a bit bland in comparison to what’s been made sense. The album has some good moments and a few songs are worth a replay but overall it’s nothing amazing. 6.5/10

Nothing amazing but it was enjoyed at moments. Morrissey is a good singer and that carries the album. A few songs have anecdotal moments but overall the album lacks support and doesn’t hit the spot. 6.1/10

One of the better live albums I’ve heard. The bob seger cover song and combination of songs from multiple albums make it worthwhile. If it wasn’t live it’d be great but overall I still liked it. 7.5/10

Poppy R and B album that is just kinda there. Nothing really stands out besides Mariah’s vocals. 4.9/10

Very Melancholic and the lyrics are vaguely depressing. The tone is relatively the same throughout which is a drawback but the composition and instrumentals are great. 7.9/10

Ice cube is socially and self aware when it comes to rapping. His hardcore style is ok but is lackluster when it comes to a full album. Some of the songs have stood the test of time and are still relevant. Others feel dated. 7.5/10

A near perfect album of melody, instrumentals, lyrics, and harmony. Van Morrison has a great ability to captivate with his music. This is his most well crafted album. 9.8/10

This early queen album feels like it should be better than how it sounds. Certain aspects of songs still feel a bit raw and not as known as the basic queen songs. This album has a good feel to it but this doesn’t show the true talent of queen. 7.7/10

Solid folk rock album. Their music does stand the test of time and still is unique and enjoyable today. Homeward bound is great. Sometimes Simon and Garfunkel’s music does bore me a little with the soft tones but it’s still a good album. 7.5/10

Sounds like it’s pure 80s dance with the synth pop sounds. Not really my style as it’s slightly too poppy and too dance/electronic. I can see how people like it as the style and instrumentals are pretty decent. 5.3/10

This early 00s alternative album has one of the best songs from the 00s with take me out. The rest of the album holds up well. Part of it feels like the strokes. Others like arctic monkeys but not quite as refined. Overall it’s solid. 7.6/10

Vocally Apple is wonderful. The songs are strong and it doesn’t take much instrumentally to assist her as she sings. Delightfully surprised with this. 6.9/10

An all time classic rock album. Not necessarily Zeps best album but this one rocks hard and the solos show their talent. Not much wrong with this one. 8.6/10

This was a better deep purple album than the last one. Lyrically and style was it was much more refined around their guitar riffs that are still solid. Enjoyed this album but it wasn’t great. 6.7/10

Tusk is fleetwoods last real album. It shows the band separating with the different styles throughout. The album feels eclectic but it may be more due to the differences of the members showing through. It’s obviously not their best album but it also isn’t their worst. Would’ve loved to see what could have happened in the 80s as this album had great tunes and they were arguably one of the biggest bands. This is great as Fleetwood always is. As long as Stevie nicks is included. 7.9/10

Pretty solid album. Tom pettys guitar skills is far better than his singing. This album has some hits and some of the other songs aren’t that special. It flows well and started the stardom of Tom petty. Overall it was good. 7.2/10

Never listened to them before and thought this was a pretty entertaining album. The lyrics were pretty deep and at times dark. Sometimes political as well. The instrumentals were solid and had a good 90s rock punk feel but still some British influences too. The backstory on this album is also pretty interesting. Overall it was good. 7.1/10

First time listening to them. Could hear how iggy was an early influence in the pop punk genre. To me these songs didn’t really resonate. Maybe it was just before my time to understand. Pretty neutral here. 5.8/10

Not my favorite Springsteen album but it does show his talents of songwriting and ability to use his voice that makes the songs feel morose and tense. Springsteen always had a way of making his songs Americana but not always in the positive light. This album excels on that. Several songs are wonderful here. A stronger party rock album from Aerosmith. The chorus’ are strong and there’s more variety in the songs. Better than “Rocks”. This had several songs that are worth going back to. 6.7/10

Ok album. Less of an edge than the other MSP album since they lost the main singer and songwriter. Don’t think I’d revisit this one much. 5.4/10

Solid rock album for the birth of one of the best alternative rock groups. There are some signs of the nirvana sound before they really hit their stride with the hits. This album was all rock which makes it strong and different from other bands from the 90s. 7.7/10

Pretty average album. What makes this album unique is most the songs are different stories about people. Musically it feels very generic for the 60s. 5.8/10

As hugely influential as this album was, I have a hard time enjoying it all the way through. Dre’s beats are stellar but cube and rens raps sometimes feel trapped in that 80s style. The hits are great but the second half of the album has me wanting more. 7.4/10

Old school rap roots that paved the way for a lot of people. In the 80s I’d imagine this was amazing music. To hear it now it seems very rudimentary. I don’t love it but I can respect the talent of what was made. 6.4/10

Excellent album. James Taylor’s guitar and singing is one of a kind. He takes simple songs and makes them special. Fire and Rain is a classic and this album is great easy listening from beginning to end. 8.3/10

Pretty average punk style album. Some songs had good instrumentals and there were riffs that resembled that of grunge. Other songs had the classic 70s foreign punk style. 5.7/10

Besides the first song, never really hear anything from them. Their rap style isn’t too complex and their rhymes aren’t bad. But their songs feel generic and their beats aren’t anything outstanding. It’s an ok rap album. 5.5/10

One of my favorite albums. In my opinion Pink Floyd’s second best album but my personal favorite. It’s so easy to get lost in the sounds of shine on. Wish you were here is a beautiful song. Have a cigar really rounds out the album, helping it transition from the beginning to the end. Everyone about this album is outstanding. 9.8/10

It wasn’t anything special. Soundtrack album that was mostly instrumentals. The sound was quite interesting and ominous and one song reminded me of a tame impala voice over. But it still wasn’t that great. 3.8/10

Impressed by this album. Didn’t expect much of it going in but hearing chic cheer the song had a good beat and was grooving. Le freak has either been sampled or used in movies it sounded very familiar. The rest of the album was pretty decent and overall better than I expected. 6.5/10

A very interesting album. Lou reed never does things the traditional way, which is what made him pretty special. This album probably required more listens than I gave it but what I heard it felt ok. Pretty average. 5.2/10

This was a really nice and wonderful album of some jazz piano. I listened to it a few times and each time it was more enjoyable. The sounds were impressive and the backstory on it makes it even more impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed it 8.0/10

Joni Mitchell’s lyricism and voice is a talent all it’s own. The album is pretty good and enjoyable to listen to. She does a good job but none of the songs feel like strong hits that stick with you. 6.2/10

Solid hard core metal album. Walk is a classic that hits hard. The album has a good mix of hardcore lyrics and plenty of flowing guitar riffs. Always enjoyed when in the mood. 8.1/10

Pretty solid funk album that has the right mix of funk r&b and experimental stuff going on. The first song is a bit slow but after that it’s significantly better. 7.7/10

Solid two album here. The seed is probably my favorite off this album. Some of the interludes seemed long though. The bets are solid and lyrically black thought does well. The appearances by talib kwali are solid too. 7.6/10

Pretty decent traditional country album. It seemed like ray price had the old traditional lyrics and songwriting but his guitar playing and melodies sounded a bit what the 70s and 80s turned into. I enjoyed it and didn’t find it too old and slow as some country albums are. 6.2/10

Nothing too special here. It seems the importance of this album comes from being a early punk rock album. The album has td moments of angsty lyrics and hard guitar and drum sections. The choruses on a few songs felt a bit annoying and repetitive. The album was short but with 16 songs it felt like rapid change. 4.8/10

Excellent metal album. Definitely their most popular and for good reason. From start to finish this album brings it hard and does metal to the point where it’s enjoyable for a wider audience. This is a must listen and is one of the best metal albums. 8.8/10

Alright album that has a few good songs. Song 2 is well known and a good hit and wish more of the album was like that. Some of the other songs fell flat and felt boring. 5.6/10

Solid country album. Usually don’t prefer live albums but given the theme of the album and the setting it does fit. There are times where the live interruptions do take away from the songs. However this album has many classic hits and is classic Cash. 7.7/10

This may be one of the most perfect albums made. Between the theme, lyrics, beats, and hooks it doesn’t get more consistent and monumental than this album. Hill created one solo album and it’s arguably one of the best ever made. Such a shame she didn’t do more but what she provided was nothing short of historically significant. 10/10

Solid indie rock album. Possibly one of the staples of the genre. The lyrics are deep and melancholy. The music is upbeat, unique and the sounds of various instruments makes it unique. Jesus etc. is an amazing song. This is a great album. 8.3/10

Pretty rough album that may be the most punk sounding album I’ve heard. The lyrics are messy. The vocals aren’t good. The instrumentals are chaotic. It’s punk but not the kind I like. 2.7/10

The Beatles mellowed out with this one compared to yellow sub and magical. The songs flow exceptionally well throughout and makes the album an easy listen and yet there’s still depth to the songs. 8.8/10

This was a band I’ve never heard of but felt like I have before. Their style is unique but also what was done by other bands later in the 90s. At times it felt like radiohead a little bit. This was a good album that was a new experience. 7.3/10

Little Simz has been on fire with her newest album and this one is also solid. Very impressed with the lyricism and the beats. She’s probably one of the better female rappers without being only vulgar as well. 7.4/10

It’s raunchy it’s crude. It’s vulgar. It’s violent. It’s amazing. This album solidified Eminem as one of the best rappers. He’s doesn’t hold back and his rhymes are fantastic. The beats are well done by Dre. This is a classic rap album. 9.0/10

Decent old school rap album. Feels as though this was kind of the middle ground between what tribe made and the original styles of rapping. These guys had rhythm and were very black forward. The African themes are pretty strong here. They also mix it up with some 80s beats and djing. Overall it’s decent. 6.1/10

A pretty decent alt rock album. Never listened to this band before but their sound wasn’t too unfamiliar. Their choruses were pretty good on some of the up best songs. This album was incredibly long at over 2 hours. There are some pretty nice chill songs on the album. You trim the album in half and it’s probably one of the best electronic albums. However it’s not like that and it feels like a chore to get through. 5.7/10

My personal favorite boss album. This is everything great about him. Hardcore Americana lyrics with soulful sax solos. His singing still has its flaws but this album not only rocks but has some great ballads too. It’s excellent. 9.0/10

I’ve listened to this album before but once it came up here I tried again. I listened to it 3 times mainly because it’s so easy to get lost in the songs. Pretty good album. Kinda wild they made this in 1980. Feels like it could be a modern day indie alt album. Feels very similar to lcd sound system. Their beats and instrumentals are very unique and I read it has some African influence which makes sense. Not your typical sounding band and because of that this is special. 7.7/10

This was an ok album. Get like Neil young was better in the 70s. This is a decent album from the early 90s that matched the rock style. Between his voice and some of the songs don’t really do it for me. There are some songs that rock pretty hard. Overall it’s ok. 5.3/10

There are some good songs here but my oh my this was the longest album ever. This was seriously more of a triple album. I was pretty interested in the beginning so it is good. Just something I won’t revisit. 4.6/10

Average pop rap album. Paper planes is a great song and will be played for a long time. Most of the album is hit and miss. Some songs are catchy with cool beats. Others can get annoying and feel repetitive. Album could’ve been better if it was shorter and trimmed some songs. 5.6/10

Enjoyed this album more than expected. Haven’t listened to him before but knew of songs from his other albums. I thought this album was really good as a whole. It has a lot of musical elements involved, and kiwanuka has a pretty solid singing style and voice. 7.5/10

Just an ok album in my opinion. The hives seem like a modern punk band that tries to sound mainstream. Like a cross over of arctic monkeys and 80s punk. I don’t really care for it. The singer isn’t that good and the instrumentals are pretty generic. 5.1/10

This is a great mixup of a supergroup. Clapton and some solid blues players make this a really good album. Layla is so great and known from goodfellas. The album has some classic rock staples and some nice blues rock songs that make it a little genre bending. Pretty cool album. 7.8/10

Ok album. Some songs felt like quintessential folk songs from the 60s. The album was enjoyable however it felt like there’s been stronger albums of the same style. In 65 this may have been viewed better but to me it’s just ok. 5.7/10

Decent album. Wilco is a band that always sounds good but halfway through an album you feel like it could still be the first song. Or that it could be any of the other albums. I’d say being there was probably the first one where they really found their style that is unique to them. Some of the songs are solid but this album isn’t as refined as some of their others. 6.0/10

Pretty enjoys album. Didn’t know Steve Windwood was in a band prior to his solo stuff. Enjoyed this album as much as any other Steve Windwood stuff. This was very instrumental heavy which at times was cool and others it dragged. Overall it’s decent. 6.3/10

This one was better than expected. A lot of their songs had a unique style that feels special to this group. The combination of electronic sounds with certain drums and beats make these songs pretty engaging. Plus the lyrics and singing isn’t too bad. 6.5/10

Felt like this may have been more popular when it was released compared to now. Really only enjoyed maybe a couple songs. Other than that didn’t find it too interesting. There were glimpses of pretty good pop dogs but none that stood out. 4.0/10

This is like if the beastie boys Mets up with limp bizkit mixed with some reggae. It’s nothing special and feels kinda corny. Some of the beats and raps are catchy but lame. And the alternative songs just feel like typical 90s alt that doesn’t really shine. 4.5/10

Another solid David Bowie album. This one is more pop heavy and nothing too crazy but it’s succinct and enjoyable. A good cover of a Beatles song and a couple of classics on this. Bowie is pretty special when it comes to consistent albums. 7.9/10

This is an album that starts pretty good and progressively decreases with each song. I enjoyed the first track and then maybe the next two. And that was it. Album couldn’t stay consistent and felt like it became too much of a hippie rock album. 4.3/10

Ok pop album. The female singing is pretty good and has a good voice. The songs are all pretty slow and relaxed. Nothing really too bad. Just not for me. 3.7/10

A bit more of an interesting album. Pretty indie alternative feel to it like car seat headrest or neutral milk hotel. Some of the songs are a bit deeper and darker. Not necessarily bad but idk how much is listen to it. 4.8/10

Thought this was a pretty good album. Very 80s synth electronic feel to it but also had some good rock elements. Some of the songs I’ve heard before. This album is pretty complete as it’s not too long unless you add the bonus tracks. Would listen again. 6.9/10

Probably Green Day’s best and most popular album. A lot of classic alternative hits in this one and some that have gone forgotten. Jesus of suburbia is a solid tune. This album as a whole is pretty good without the bonus tracks. 7.1/10

Not a bad pop album. Definitely have some mixed feelings as some songs were catchy and good and others were almost skippable. Definitely a product of its era as well which made this one just ok. 5.8/10

Decent album. Sometimes a little poppy. Sometimes a bit jazzy. Feel like mixing it up worked or better instead of getting bored of one style. The singers voice is smooth and consistent. Felt like it was trying to do a modern take on Stevie wonder. Overall pretty decent. 6.0/10

Nice alternative album by the gorillaz. They have their own style and it’s pretty awesome. A few songs on this album drag it out and could’ve been cut off but most this album is good. Clint Eastwood is a solid song. 6.9/10

This was an ok electronic album but really just felt like background noise. Didn’t hate it but it just went by and then it was over. 3.1/10

Pretty solid album by Tupac. Album isn’t as hard or gangster rap as some of his other albums. A bit more introspective but still a good listen all the way through. 2 pac has always had an ability to make a diverse album that has a song that appeals to different people and Dear mama is a classic. 7.6/10

Another pretty weird electronic pop album. There were a couple songs that I could listen to and didn’t mind. There were some that were awful and I had to skip. Overall not too great. 2.9/10

Pretty good album here. Much better than raw power. Lust for life is a classic song and the pretender is solid with the help of Bowie. The whole album had a softer Bowie/punk vibe. It was a good listen. 7.1/10

Wonderful album and probably Stevie wonders most complete. Between the Melodies and great songwriting this album is an R&B classic. Almost half of the album is full of classic songs. This is a must listen and relisten all the time. 8.9/10

A pretty good album that I have not heard before. I enjoyed the various genre bending this album provides. Some various levels of prog rock, alternative creates an enjoyable album that feels modern and important for future bands. 6.6/10

Didn’t care too much for this album. Never felt like it really made strides to differentiate itself. The album wasn’t necessarily bad just seemed like generic British pop rock. 4.6/10

I don’t know how a cee lo green album made this list. He’s not very good. This album felt like it would easily forgotten during the 2000s. There were several better albums then. Only a couple songs on this album were okay. His voice and singing style is a bit weird. The beats and vibe was ok but nothing special. 3.9/10

It was an ok album. Tainted love is a popular song but this album is very much 80s pop. It’s a genre you either are into or not. This one wasn’t my favorite overall but the singer has a good voice. 5.0/10

Didn’t care much for this album. Felt that this had little similarities to Pink Floyd. This was a few years before they got bigger but we’re still around. This album felt more like a recording session than an album. Some may like that but it wasn’t for me. 4.4/10

Pretty awesome funk album. Don’t think many people have done it better than parliament. This album has some classics and some other nice songs that were new to me. This is a nice funk album. 8.0/10

I thought this was a pretty good album. 70s Neil young is always half decent. This album had some melodic rhythms and was good lyrically. Could listen to this one again. 7.4/10

This was a particularly bad album. The songs were pretty bizarre and it felt that they were unpolished. All this makes sense when I read they were an early ska style band. Ingenuitive to some they may be but to me this was pretty tough to get through. 3.3/10

Pretty decent album. Ray Charles is a legend and his music is all around good. I felt this album was easy to listen to and it was entertaining. It didn’t blow me away or make me replay any specific song but it was good. 6.7/10

An okay album. Apparently an early alternative album before the genre got a bit more famous. don’t necessarily think being early to a genre is special if the music doesn’t bring a lot of entertainment. It wasn’t bad just felt very bland, very long and nothing stood out. The singer would be hard to understand at times. 4.5/10

Pretty odd album. Basically just instrumentals and ambiance type music. Never really felt worthwhile or enjoyable. 2.0/10

One of the more influential and political rock albums. Rage makes a very strong and hardcore album. Roche has a great way of vocalizing and making his voice carry into your ears and thoughts. Killing in the Name is one of the best rock tracks ever as well. A phenomenal album. 8.6/10

Decent rock album. Felt like this band is pretty much not as known and somewhat underrated. They have a stones/the strokes feel to them. Felt like this album was pretty good given they were doing what a lot of other bands were doing. 6.3/10

Not a bad reggae album. Pretty typical vibe and what the songs are about. The beats and instrumentals are good and pretty average reggae tunes. 5.7/10

A solo album by a beach boy. Definitely a different feel that what The Beach Boys normally provide. This is a slower,sadder, more artistic style album. Incredibly long which brings it down a bit. It’s not terrible just slightly depressing which in its own way is ok. 5.3/10

An ok funky, soul album. It’s mainly grooving instrumentals with a few moments of singing. Didn’t find it too great but it did ease through in the background. 5.0/10

Fantastic album by zeppelin. They really dig deep into the heir style with this one as it’s heavy in the riffs and rock blues style. This album may not be my favorite of theirs but it’s one of the best compilations of songs that are everything Led Zeppelin. 8.3/10

Did not really care for this album. It was pretty meddling and the songs felt unfinished. Sometimes the 60s rock has that issue. The singer was a bit nasally and the instrumentals were ok. For a rock album I can’t see myself revisiting this one. 4.3/10

To me this was pretty boring and felt like background noise. Basic elements of techno 90s music. The album was long and didn’t have any exact moments of highs or lows. 2.7/10

Excellent rap album by the best rap duo of all time. This album varies stylistically in many ways and it’s good from front to back. This album has several interludes that break up the flow and in my opinion don’t add much. This album is good but I’d OutKast’s 3rd or 4th best.(Idlewild is obviously last) Which shows how good they are. 8.2/10

Not much interesting about this one. Kinda glam pop synth pop feel from the 80s. Very subtle lyrically and the album feels like it drifts along. Pretty mediocre. 3.7/10

Ok album. Didn’t feel like this one broke the mold of the British alternative style. They did what I feel oasis does better. Their songs are enjoyable yet somewhat repetitive. It’s good but nothing special. 5.6/10

This was an album that was hard to pinpoint what I really felt about it. It’s good. Artistically it’s really good. In my own terms of enjoyment it’s nothing superior though. This album isn’t as catchy as some of other prince’s. However this album shows his massive talent. Between his singing range and guitar ability it’s hard to overlook how good this is. I myself just don’t like it as much as some of his other albums. 7.6/10

This album was in Spanish which makes it difficult to enjoy. The singer has a good voice and felt Norah jones Esque. Overall it’s value was lost on me. 1.9/10

I enjoyed this album and felt it was one of lcd’s better albums. Their songs have such an interesting style and range. The beats are solid and unique. Lyrically there is some depth but sometimes it feels a little pretentious. Overall pretty good. 7.0/10

Fantastic rock album. CCR never disappoints in their limited albums. This one has a couple covers and some absolute classics. Could listen to this album all day. Doherty has an amazing ability to belt out some solid swampy rock songs. The instrumentals are groovy, funky, and fun. It’s quick, cohesive, energetic. Probably their best album and collectively my favorite. Not much wrong with this. 8.7/10

A pretty gritty electronic album. I found some of the songs not that bad but overall it still get pretty boring like most electronic albums. 2.6/10

A decent pop album with some major hits. The album has its main theme of love affairs and feelings T Swift has about them. And then there’s just generic pop hits thrown in the middle. As an album it’s ok. This does better with just the few good single pieces. 5.8/10

What an odd album. I mean kudos for the guy that can play all these instruments but it doesn’t make the music more enjoyable. This was pretty dull. 1.7/10

Was originally pretty excited to have an Elvis album to listen too. However this album disappointed me a bit. It’s 12 songs and just under 30 mins. The songs are short and quick. Some are up tempo and feels like it plays at double speed. Some of these songs his voice is a bit higher pitch which felt odd for Elvis. Kind of underwhelming overall but it did show that he had potential. 5.3/10

This is a very short and concise album. I’d say it’s instrumentals are very basic but it brings out the singing and lyrics more which is the real component of this album. And this is his best work. 8.0/10

This is a decent pop album. A couple of the songs are pretty enjoyable. Beyoncé makes some songs relatable to her fans and others about her wealth. A majority of this album is about love and sex which gets tiresome after a bit. Overall it’s okay. 6.2/10

Very fun and nostalgic album. A few classics on this album which will be quintessential feel good songs. Some of the other album is a bit trippy pop and is okay. The second half of the album is not nearly as strong but overall it’s an impressive and joyful album for the youth. 7.3/10

Nice east rock album. ELO made this one pretty unique in the rock sense with an arrangement of instruments and stylings. The songs are easy going and mostly cheerful and fun to hear. The album is really just enjoyable. 7.7/10

This is a pretty good classic rock album. The first half of the album is all hits. The back half of the album isn’t bad. Just pretty generic classic rock. Overall it feels pretty timeless and the songs are enjoyable. 7.6/10

A fantastic jazz album. Coltrane is a wonder and this album shows how much of a genius he was. Between the stylings and composition this is a really brilliant album that makes jazz very enjoyable. 8.5/10

This was an enjoyable album for the first time listening. Interesting Jeff beck only put his name on it when rod Stewart sings every song. I think rod stewart helped make this album better. The guitar playing was solid as well. Lots of variance between blues and harder classic rock sounds. Pretty enjoyable album overall. 7.3/10

Ok pop album. I can see how people like her music i as it’s melancholy and sometimes soothing. I don’t find the album as a whole that special. It felt like listening to another persons story that is uninteresting. 4.9/10

An interesting album that felt like it was a mixture of songwriting styles. Lyrically it was diverse and different than most albums. Felt like it was like a father John misty album mixed with bo Burnham. I listened to it multiple times and as much as I enjoyed the instrumentals it got somewhat annoying as the album progressed. 4.4/10

Was hard to have a decisive reaction to this album. It’s pretty long and the songs while they are all generally alternative it feels they vary throughout how the mesh together. The album felt a bit messy and like a compilation of songs the writer had ready to go. Nothing I would revisit. 4.2/10

This is probably my favorite album of all time so a very easy review for this one. Everything about this is so well done. 10/10

A instrumentally strong album that really strives in the prog rock/rock opera category. The album is pretty short and most of it is the 20 minute song which if you’re a fan of rush is probably great to hear. I found the album a bit lacking. 5.7/10

This album was difficult to get through. A prime example of how a bad singer can ruin an album. The instrumentals weren’t entirely that bad but it was hard to get past the rough voice. Wouldn’t not re-listen. 2.3/10

A wonderful Beatles album with a variety of songs. This album is long but being a fan of the Beatles it’s only appreciated. This album has a little bit of everything that made their other albums great. Obviously that means this one isn’t too cohesive or flowing but it doesn’t necessarily matter if you just want to hear more Beatles. Excellent album. 8.4/10

Fantastic rap album by Nas. His first album at such a young age gives an insight to the New York street life. The lyrics are raw and visual. The beats are great and still entertaining today. This album is historical in Nas having it produced by various people. This album is one of the best. 8.9/10

Good album by rod stewart. It has one of his best songs with Maggie May. The rest of the album is similar in tone but not really many other hits. Nothing too bad about the album except the amazing grace outro In one song felt unneeded. Would listen again. 6.9/10

Never a bad album by the Beatles. This is more their pop boy band style than when they transitioned into rock legends. A good album with some decent covers. This album has a long track list but is only 36 mins. Overall this may be my least favorite Beatles album, but still great. 8.1/10

A pretty good album. This song has a couple timeless hits on it that helps elevate it. Some of the other songs are either political or slightly depressing. Definitely a deeper, darker album overall. Even fast car is pretty sad but it’s a good song. Overall it’s enjoyable. 6.8/10

Awesome rock album here. Probably their best collection of songs and it’s their first album. This one has a little bit of everything, ballads, classics, guitar solos. It’s an amazing first album from a band that was cut short on life. Really solid stuff. 8.2/10

This seems like an album that people could listen to or they would hate it. Celtic rock isn’t terribly but I would say I wouldn’t seek it out. The album did have a good rock sound. The lyrics and singing were heavy on the Irish theme which made it hard to enjoy. Not a bad album just a niche taste. 5.7/10

I was shocked to see this make the list. I love this album and it’s hard to determine if I prefer this one or a deeper understanding. They are both great, smooth instrumentals to a t. I can’t and do listen to this album all the time. 9.0/10

When this album first came out and people were praising it, I didn’t quite understand why. Now having listened to it fully, I still don’t get what’s enjoyable about it. It’s pretty bland r and b. So Lange isn’t the best singer and most of the songs are very dull. I think maybe one or two I thought ok this isn’t bad but a majority of it is missable. 4.3/10

It was an ok album. Heavy drum and bass beats comprise most of the album with some experimental stuff going on as well. It showed that a good beat is better accompanied by a good lyricist. 4.0/10

A pretty interesting and complex album. I enjoyed listening to it a few times but I don’t think I’ll ever seek it out. The instrumentals are solid and rocks pretty nicely. Didn’t have many thoughts on this album. I have a feeling you either like Tom waits or you don’t. I didn’t enjoy this much as he sounds like a pack of cigarettes. It felt like a singer songwriter that was way past his time. 3.7/10

An enjoyable album that has a pretty low ceiling. Ray Charles is a legendary musician however the songs are a little dated and his style doesn’t have much variance. They are executed well and he’s a good singer/pianist. The double album gets a bit dull towards the end just due to my personal taste. I’d listen again but sparingly. 6.4/10

A classic rock album that is a ton of fun. Probably the true turning point in rock from classic rock bands to stadium rock. Their songs are high powered and leave a good impression. The album isn’t too long and provides some solid hits along with fantastic guitar work. 7.7/10

Solid album by Black Sabbath. To think that this came out in 1970 is pretty crazy. The landscape of music was not ready for what Black Sabbath contributed at that time. Really changing the rock genre towards something more hardcore. This album is probably their best with great riffs and eerie lyrics and sounds. Plus some of their most popular hits. 7.7/10

Love this album by the stones. I’d call it their magnum opus. It’s pretty long but none of the songs really drag on. The lyrics are a bit stronger and more unique than their bluesy other albums. I could listen to this album all the time. 8.4/10

One of the more unique albums I’ve listened to. The instrumentals and beats were very enjoyable and relaxing. The lyrics didn’t make sense. The singing was good. The album would’ve been possibly great if it was in English or somewhat understandable because the long songs and shoe gazing like sound was well made. 4.7/10

A true classic rap album. Wu tang released this and changed how rap groups were viewed. The production is stellar. The lyrics are explicit and impressive. The talent across the group is great. The way they transition flows is always entertaining. It’s a great album and wu tang is for the children. 8.5/10

This was an okay album. I feel as they were before their time. A decent alternative sound. I felt the singer was the biggest drawback. She had a Florence style but not as catchy. The instrumentals are good and the album wasn’t too boring. Overall I don’t think I’d replay it again. 5.1/10

This was a decent bluesy rock album. Felt like eliminator was a better ZZ Top album. This album was quick and still had some good songs but I would lose interest in the middle. 6.5/10

An enjoyable album that is upbeat, unique, and funky. Prince shows his ability to be a genius in this album. He also shows side for carrying things on that could’ve used some editing or cutting. The back half of this album drags a bit and the sex them of a few songs seemed unnecessary. Would still listen again and feel it’s about as good as sign o the times. 7.5/10

I can understand why it’s on this list but it’s so hard for me to enjoy a live album. Especially this one that seems like it’s more impress in person. As a recording it just felt like a rock rendition of classics music which isn’t something I particularly would listen to. This may be impressive but it’s not for me. 2.3/10

Pretty on par with most other Bowie albums which just means it’s great and an easy album to listen to over and over. Golden years is a classic. The album is short and concise. He doesn’t leave much behind on this one. This isn’t my favorite Bowie album but it’s still solid. 7.6/10

As much as this may be a quintessential 90s pop album I don’t find it too exciting. Morrisette’s voice isn’t the most pleasing to hear for an hour. The songwriting on some of the songs is relatively dull. Her ironic song is comically named wrongly but it is somewhat catchy. You oughta know isn’t too bad either but the rest of the album feels a bit dated already. 3.9/10

What a bunch of nonsense. I thought that this was satirical halfway through the first listen as this was just too ridiculously bad. On the second listen it was pretty unbearable hearing how dumb the lyrics were. There are some albums that may make sense being on this list even though they aren’t the most enjoyable. This one did not seem to have any importance. 1.8/10

Another solid Van Halen album. This one isn’t as good but still entertaining and impressive. Jump and Panama are pretty classic rock party songs. Hot for teacher is a solid rock song. There’s a couple lulls but overall this is a good album. 7.5/10

Really enjoyable modern r and b album by frank ocean. The beats and synths are unique. The lyrics are pretty good showing relationship issues and that of being a younger person. Several of the songs on this are great and some will be classics. This album really put him on the map as an artist that makes special music. 7.9/10

A surprisingly good album. Felt like the guitar playing was well done. Paul’s voice is pretty calming and he does a good job lyrically with the songs. This felt like a very good average singer songwriter album. 6.6/10

A masterpiece of rock pop that is timeless. Elton John’s best album by far. A great collection of fun hits, ballads, and poppy tunes. The fantastic piano bits on several songs is where the talent makes some songs so easy to listen to over and over again. Candle in the wind is a classic. Bennie and the jets. Classic. So much of this album is Elton just being at his best in every category that is Elton John. 9.0/10

A somewhat boring album in my opinion. Felt like the style for the band was pretty consistent and somewhat dark as are most punk rock bands. The songs felt like they blended together and nothing really stood out. Don’t think I’d listen again. 4.8/10

Not that bad of an album however I don’t see myself returning to it. It was pretty good with the instrumentals. Some songs I enjoyed more without the singers. Felt like both singers weren’t that great. 5.4/10

Felt like this wasn’t as good as Viva Hate or the smiths albums. Pretty similar where it’s morissey singing and there isn’t much else to it. Feel like most of his songs are pretty somber and not really worth revisiting. 5.2/10

A fantastic album. To pump a butterfly is probably Kendrick’s best album. It’s my second favorite behind GKMC but not far behind. This album is really a step above so many other rap albums of the decade. The jazz influences, the production, the lyricism are all observed from beginning to end. Kendrick spent an strong portion of this album talking about a single issue which is also rare for many modern rap albums. Not many do it better. 9.3/10

Thought this was an ok album. Better than the other Iron Maiden album I had. The lead singer is more of the yelling metal which sometimes it’s not too bad. The instrumentals are pretty decent as the past album was too. Find it interesting their most popular song, number of the beast, was the least metal song on their album. 5.7/10

I thought this was a decently enjoyable pop album. Many classic 80s sounds with the synth/pop funk style mixed with some good piano playing and other good instrumentals.. The lyrics are somewhat dark in several songs. I enjoyed this is the day. I felt some songs were a bit long though but I didn’t dislike the album. 5.8/10

Pretty awesome CCR album again. This one is a bit too short. Some classic hits in this one with some other nice funky tunes. One of the better rock bands to exist made a tightly packed hard rocking album. Another one that can be listened to on repeat. 8.2/10

It was an okay album. Felt like it was stuck in the middle between older brit rock and Green Day. The felt like a band that was more important during their time than lasting over the years. I didn’t think it was bad just not something I would revisit. 5.3/10

Didn’t find this album all that special. Felt like a sub par alternative or grunge band. Their songs didn’t seem to be strong enough for a good harder rock album but it was also too chaotic for a good alternative album. Feel like their singing style is just droning with occasional anger. Didn’t quite feel the import this one. Felt like a bland British pop punk album. The guy was somewhat talented in his lyricism but his voice wasn’t great and the songs were boring. Not quite sure how he became influential but I guess some people likes his stuff but not me. 2.6/10

An okay album that has heavy 60s psychedelic pop sound. The lead song on the album is pretty good but the rest of the album is much different. It’s pretty simple pop music besides the psychedelic stuff. Nothing too exciting. 5.1/10

Not the worst electronic album I’ve heard however it’s still an electronic album. I found the album to feel like it dragged a little as the beats are unique but somewhat monotonous. The album did flow together well and some of the songs were a bit easy going and grooved well but I just can’t find myself listening to this again. 3.0/10

A classic 90s rap album. Raekwon created a great solo album to show his skills outside of Wu Tang. While still heavy with Wu Tang members. This albums shows Kwons strong lyricism and good selection with beats. The album is a real street style rap that gives a look to Raekwons insight. One of the better solo albums from Wu. This is a great rap album that’s easy to listen to. 7.7/10

A decent album that has concepts that are impressive. I can see why people like bjork and find her music special. She is a good singer and the production with the various instrumentals is really good. The lyrics and some of the songs are introspective and take a good look at life. However I myself don’t find the album that enjoyable. As impressive as it is it’s still not for me. 4.6/10

A splendid album by Stevie Wonder. Not nearly as long as songs in the key of life. 3F doesn’t have as many commercial hits as some of his other albums but it still contains a wide range of sounds that Stevie Wonder is capable of. There are the upbeat funky songs. The slower melodic thoughtful ones. Stevie wonder had an ability especially in the 70s to create great music. This album isn’t any different. 8.0/10

A very unique album. Did not enjoy this one very much and was hoping it would end. The two singers have a distinct sound and I’d imagine you either like it or don’t. The instrumentals were okay. Sometimes I felt the sounds enjoyable but overall it felt a bit dated and generic. 2.7/10

A good classic metal album. This one seems to have pretty consistent guitar riffs besides a couple songs. One is a fantastic song that makes this album a bit better. A majority of songs suffer from not being too much different. The 9 minute instrumental song isn’t bad but is weirdly placed at the penultimate song. This album is good but isn’t as good as their self titled album. 7.5/10

This was a really enjoyable album. Compared to other Neil your albums I felt like this one was more concise and flowed well together. With only 7 songs I enjoyed more than half. The folky rock sound is where I feel Young does his best work. 7.6/10

This was a decent album that’s I’ve never heard of before. Felt like they were a more relaxed 90s alternative band without sounding too grungey. I liked the instrumentals. The guitarist was solid. Awesome album by the smashing pumpkins. Several classic hits on this album. It’s not as long as Mellon Collie but still rocks sufficiently. The album shows the prog rock style that makes them great instrumentally. Billy Corgan has a unique voice and singing style that makes this album different and the smashing pumpkins a solid band. 7.5/10

This album was so long and after the first few songs was pretty boring. It’s really only sufficient use is background music and even then there are more enjoyable options. Not a fan of this one. 1.3/10

This is definitely the worst album I’ve listened to yet. At least electronic music can be enjoyed and has direction. This is pure nonsense and a collection of noises. 0.0/10

A fantastic album by the stones. This album has arguably two of their best songs on it. One starts it and the other finishes it. In between that I’d a bluesy rock middle that picks up with let it bleed. It’s not the other songs aren’t good it’s just the good ones on this album are way above the rest. It’s still a really good album. 8.5/10

A pretty decent alternative album. Muse has always made some interesting music. This album definitely fits that bill. Their songs sound some what spacey and futuristic. Starlight is a solid song and knights of cyadonia has some great instrumentals. The rest of the album isn’t too much up my alley but I found it enjoyable. 5.9/10

A nice early alternative album. Blister in the sun is a classic alternative song. The rest of the album is similar in style but not as catchy. For this being made in the 80s it shows the femmes we’re ahead of their time. This album is pretty solid but I wont revisit more than the first song. 5.7/10

Not your usual beach boys album. This one didn’t seem as up best throughout. The songs varied into certain political songs to songs about surfing or girls. When thinking Beach Boys it’s not that this album isn’t like them I think it was a transition as they aged into a more insightful songwriting. However it felt like this album wouldn’t be as played as some of their others. 6.2/10

I’ve always know about this band but never listened to the full album. Maps is a great song but it is wildly different than the rest of this album. The singer has a pretty rough voice when she yells and sings loudly. The instrumentals are ok but they just feel like generic punk hardcore playing. One song can’t save this album. 2.9/10

I don’t find Elvis Costello that impressive. His voice is rather average and the instrumentals isn’t that great pop rock. He has a style that seems to be either you like it or you don’t. There were a couple songs that were enjoyed but I wouldn’t seek them out. 4.6/10

An interesting and probably more popular in its release time than now kind of album. Gil seems to be the kind that likes to speak melodically to various piano and flute tunes. Some of his singing is really good. The yazz flute gets a little tiring but the piano is good. I feel this album would be better if it was just a more jazzy r&b style but that’s now. The 70s trends were different. 5.0/10

Maybe if these were spread out I may have found it enjoying but I just had a Costello album and thought it was meh. There was one song I could think of I enjoyed on this one. It’s safe to say he’s just not for me. 4.4/10

Felt this album was pretty long and didn’t find monaes singing that enjoyable. She is talented and the overtures were pretty good but her albums aren’t all that much for me. 3.6/10

Didn’t find this one too enjoyable. Felt like it was more popular in the 80s than it would be now. Some of the songs lyrically are quite bad. The sound is just a very strong 80s sense which was decent I guess but I don’t see myself revisiting this one. 3.8/10

Thought this was a pretty meddling indie album. Came out in the 90s and it may have had influence on modern indie as it sounded similar to more recent bands. I didn’t find any specific song catchy or super enjoyable. It felt like a cohesive album of songs that were easy to pass through. 4.5/10

An album that is probably only cared about because of the first some on it. Pretty sure almost any American could sing the words to it. The rest of the album however is mostly forgotten. It’s not bad. McLean has a good singing voice. The album isn’t all that special but it’s enjoyable. 5.5/10

Pretty interesting album. Manson appears to go for the shock value with the lyricism. Instrumentally some of the songs are pretty good yet it’s hard to continue through the album just because of how weird some of it is. But some songs aren’t awful so it’s still ok. 4.2/10

Didn’t care for this album. I thought the music was good but it’s mostly them jamming along for minutes on end. It’s always difficult to recreate that live experience and it doesn’t happen here with me. Not saying it’s bad. Just something I won’t revisit. 4.7/10

I didn’t care much for the other portishead album but this one has a much different feel. The singers voice is a little eerie but also melancholic and relaxed. The production between the beats and instrumentals is pretty good. It definitely fits in its own sub genre of music. Overall though it’s good. 6.1/10

An okay psychedelic album from the 60s. Very Beatles esque but it was around the same time as Sgt. Peppers and even before the Beatles recorded at Abbey Road. This album saves its best song for last. It has a good combination of pop and rock mixed with the popular 60s style of psychedelic however I didn’t find the songs that exciting. It more so just for the mold. 6.2/10

Amazing album by Radiohead. I love this one and as time goes on and I continue listening to this one I like it more and more. Still just my 3rd favorite album of theirs too. This one is very unique between the instrumentals and the beats. Yorkes voice is always interesting but the lyrics on this one are a bit different compared to their past albums. Kid A really took Radiohead and put them ahead of everyone else. 9.3/10

Kanye’s best work without a doubt. The production on this is impeccable. The features make this special. This is where his craziness and his genius worked for him the best. Every song on this album is good at minimum. Most of them are great. One of the best hip hop albums ever and a fantastic one in general. 9.7/10

An eclectic mix of songs form this pretty lengthy album. This album would have benefited by some solid editing skills because some of the songs did not mesh too well together. There are various styles in this album that show plenty of talent. It seemed to be to artistic and fell apart as it went on. Nothing to special overall but there are some okay songs. 4.5/10

Quite the instrument heavy album. Didn’t really enjoy this one too much as it was just high speed guitar and drums one song after another. Similar to Iron Maiden but they at least have decent singing and some songs are catchy. Megadeth seems more like a purist band for those that just like thrash metal. 4.3/10

A decent r and b album. I knew of Badu from bag lady and I like that song. However I figured the rest of the album would be similar. The instrumentals were good all around but I found Badus singing to be the low point. Lyrically it was fine but after halfway I got tired of hearing her sing. It’s not a bad album just one I don’t prefer. 4.8/10

A somewhat average album here. Ace of spades is a solid song. Some of the others on this album are pretty bad. The main singer doesn’t have much vocal range and limits the variance in the songs. They do rock pretty hard though which is nice. 6.5/10

Pretty generic 90s alt rock album. This felt like a compilation of songs as there didn’t seem to be a cohesive element to them. There was a cover or two in here too. The singer isn’t bad and the band plays well but I just found some of the songs odd and nothing too special. But overall it’s ok. 4.9/10

It’s an ok album by Lorde. She has a few good pop songs on this one. However it seems after a couple listens that this doesn’t hit the same levels as her first album and feels a bit more regressive due to the complaint nature. The production is decent and for modern pop it’s better than other artists. Still just ok though 5.2/10

A pretty average 80s pop album. The singer is good and sounds similar to morrissey. The instrumentals are pretty generic 80s synth pop style which are fun to listen to but does feel dated. Some songs were good and I’d listen to again, but to revisit the album is unlikely. 5.6/10

A sensational album from one of the best rappers. Biggie is able to put out some amazing lyrics and flows that were unmatched during his time. Lyrically he may be top 3. This album has several hits and even some of the less popular songs are still fantastic. The drawback on this album may be the over sexualized nature of it and a couple of the skits are worthless. Other than that this is a fantastic album and can be replayed all the time. 9.3/10

Like the other Elvis Costello albums this one wasn’t too exciting either. His lyrics are somewhat above average but his voice get boring and the instrumentals are pretty average. Just not an artist I really care for. 4.3/10

Not a bad live album but still it’s live and pulls back on how good it could be. Cash was famous for his prison concerts and this one is solid. Kinda lame he plays San Quentin twice and the album is pretty short. Overall it’s good and this is ok. 6.0/10

Solid reggae album by the most famous bob marley. No woman no cry is a fantastic song but I actually prefer the live version. The rest of this album is average to good reggae songs that vibe along and prove an enjoyable listening experience. 6.8/10

This double album shows the difference between andre and big boi. This song has plenty of hits and if it was a shorter album it’d probably be one of their bests. Since it’s a double album it is a bit lengthy. There are some skits that are lame and some songs aren’t that special. But overall it’s a pretty solid album. Big boi raps about Atlanta and fame and big time life. Andre is a bit more introspective and raps about his life and love. Partially why the duo couldn’t continue to make albums together. The jazz and southern influences are great throughout and big boi and Andre use them differently. The writing was on the wall and hey ya showed how much Andre didn’t care about making hits and could do it so easily. A really great album but a bit long. 8.2/10

Very good album by bob dylan. This album has a lot of folk and various other instrumental sounds that make this a well produced album. He does a good job as always lyrically with rhyming and telling anecdotes via song. Felt like this album didn’t have any major hits but it’s a great example of a consistent album. 7.5/10

An band that I enjoy and an album that is pretty decent. Reading some other reviews it’s evident that if you don’t like nu metal then you despise it. I enjoy it and find the hard rock style a good blend between metal and grunge alt rock. It’s a step before all the goth/emo music that came in the early 2000s. This album has a few solid songs and a majority of them are ok. The lyrics are a bit harsh and I’m sure some people can’t stand them. For me it’s a decent album. 6.3/10

A decent rock album from the 60s. Summertime blues is a good song, heard it before, and felt like it was the focal point of the album. I didn’t see how this was the invention of metal music as it didn’t seem that hardcore and not nearly as sinister as Black Sabbath. Also the instrumentals weren’t anymore intense than some other bands in the 60s. But for an album overall it was fine. There was better music made that decade for sure. 5.9/10

An early genesis album before I feel they reached their peak. This album is a bit lengthy. The synths that make genesis great are very raw on this album and at times are just bad. Collins does a good job as always but I felt like less calming instrumentals could’ve made this album a little more concise. 6.0/10

Thought this was a surprisingly good album. Haven’t heard of the band or album before. They have a solid alternative sound that came out in the early 90s prior to a lot of other good alternative bands. The guitars made a lot of songs enjoyable and brought a few songs to a higher level. None of the songs were that catchy but they were consistent and simple which in this case works. 7.2/10

I will say I probably rated the first late bush album too low. Running up the hill is a great song and it should’ve been more so 2 stars. But this one was pretty average pop all around. She has a great singing voice and none of the songs were that weird this time but I found it pretty easy to listen to but nothing too exciting on it. 4.0/10

Not a bad pop album. This one has some huge hits and some other songs that were still pretty decent. I feel like aside from this album though there isn’t many good songs from her. For a female pop album in the 80s this is as good as it gets. 5.7/10

Not a whole lot to love about this album. It starts with a popular song and probably the best on the album. Then it doesn’t really go anywhere and it’s a bunch of U2 sadness and things aren’t perfect kind of songs. Nothing really worth revisiting. 3.6/10

An okay album from iggy pop. Felt like this was a little bit of show tunes mixed with some punk and Bowie stylings. Iggy poo has a unique style and I find his music ok for a little bit. This was decent. 6.2/10

A relatively boring collection of soft rock/pop songs. I found this very whelming as none of the songs get that upbeat and they style is similar to a modern folk. It felt like for trying to understand Brit rock of the 90s this just made me appreciate Brit rock more. This was nothing too special. 4.4/10

Great album by Paul Simon. Not only does this album have some great hits that are still great today but it also has some of the most unique instrumentals. The great thing about this album is that Simon makes these instrumentals work so well within the songs. This is a really well made album and I always enjoy listening to it. 8.5/10

I don’t really enjoy the shoe gaze genre. It feels like it’s trying to be modern psychedelic but without any substance or talent. I didn’t absolutely hate this album but I wouldn’t revisit it either. 3.7/10

An okay alt/indie album that seemed to have an influence on later indie music. I found the album interesting but nothing spectacular. The singers voice isn’t that enjoyable to me. The songs are a little catchy but I found the lyrics a bit odd. 5.4/10

A pretty good Brit punk rock album. Not the most enjoyable sound from the singer but that’s usually how punk is to me. There are a couple of classic songs on this album and the Sex Pistols do rock pretty well. It’s not bad but nothing too favorable to me. 5.9/10

A really interesting album. It has 28 songs but only is 44 minutes. The variety of alternative styles is shown through the songs but it doesn’t feel very cohesive. This album seems like the band just made as many songs as possible and didn’t think about trying to expand or curate them. Some of the songs were somewhat enjoyable. None were that bad but it’s just an odd collection of okay music. 5.0/10

Thought this was an interesting indie rock album. The band has a unique use of instruments and vocals. I don’t find it as impressive as some other indie rock artists but they are talented and made some good music that I’d listen to again. 6.1/10

I thought the album was pretty enjoyable. I’ve heard love song before and it is probably the most popular and the most mainstream sounding of their songs. The rest of their songs are a playbook for the emo and goth bands of the 90s and 00s. It seemed that the cure was a bit more mild compared to later emo musicians but that made this album more palatable. 6.3/10

It was an okay album. I felt that it was enjoyable to listen to but none of the songs felt that impressive. It seems to me that many of these albums on this list don’t seem to last the rest of time but are important enough to make the list. I feel this album encompasses that. 5.5/10

Was excited to listen to a more modern folk album. Then I listened to this and thought sometimes the list of 1001 albums may be wrong. This was pretty mediocre and seemed to be a hodge podge of random words thrown together with a guitar. This was a pretty boring album. 3.7/10

A decent rap album from public enemy. Nowhere near as entertaining or influential as their first album. This one is a bit too sporadic with their short songs and bits between some of their aggressive songs. Chuck D has a great flow and the heavy bass and drums make this a unique sound only public enemy can do. 6.5/10

An album best know for its big hit come on Eileen. The rest of the album had a similar sound to that song but nothing nearly as catchy or entertaining. The band has a decent pop sound and also sounds like they have Irish or Scottish influence. 5.8/10

A decent album overall but more of an influential album that has affected music over the years. Like most Iggy Pop music this is good at times. Then there are songs where the lyrics are odd and banal. I did enjoy the instrumentals a bit more on this compared to his solo stuff. 6.2/10

This feels like a mix of emo bands and the white stripes. Some of the songs are okay and not that messy. Some other songs are clearly early 2000s emo type and not that enjoyable. It’s a relatively loud album but without much substance. 4.6/10

Another album by the smiths or morrisey that I found to be very meddling and all around just ok. The lyrics and substance of the album didn’t really entice me and the way morrissey sings makes the album a bit of a bore sometimes. I didn’t dislike it and can see how people think it’s good it’s just not for me. But also very topical album given the news. Definitely not random. 5.8/10

Somewhat dull album. Felt like the songs were very beach boys Esque but without a lot of the pop flair. Felt that they were more of an 80s rebrand of the 60s pop that wasn’t as good. Did not find that interesting. 4.9/10

Solid rock album by AC/DC. These guys start off with a great intro song with hells bells and then fill the rest of the album with some fantastic hits. They’ve always been one of the better arena rock bands and I think this is one of their best albums. Very much enjoy this one and would listen again. 7.8/10

Alright early 90s rap album. I can see the appeal and how in the 90s these guys were influential and talented. I found some of their songs to be a bit annoying which can happen with 90s rap songs when they’re repetitive. The beats were solid and lyrically it was ok. I don’t think I’ll revisit this one much but it was ok. 6.3/10

It’s surprising that most of these band members were from joy division. I think that shows how much one person can impact a band. New Order’s music is much different and not nearly as good. They are heavy on the synth pop sound which was big in the 80s but doesn’t hold well over time. This album wasn’t bad but it felt dated. 5.6/10

Pretty interesting album by Lou Reed. The sound and impact of his music could be heard throughout this album. Some of the bass lines and instrumentals have been heard before. The songs themselves are very similar to reeds style and the velvet underground. Solid album with some songs worth revisiting. 6.8/10

Thought this was an unexpectedly good album. It had some decent genre variation throughout the album. There were sounds that seemed similar to modern artists so this albums impact could be understood. Overall I could listen to this again and felt that only a couple songs were skippable. 7.4/10

Really enjoyable album by steely Dan. I enjoy their jazzy smooth rock style as it’s pretty easy enjoyment wise. Their guitar playing is sonically really solid. I think this is one of their best albums all around. 8.3/10

A unique album that showed signs of good alternative rock pieces but also some really rough nu metal sound songs too. This album seemed to teeter between two different genres. The female singers were pretty good when they just sang. The instrumentals would be good at times but then some songs would be completely off the rails and not enjoyable. Don’t think there’s a ton to revisit on this one. 4.9/10

A unique four part look into some solid unique jazz. Mingus makes this album feel like it’s four different pieces of a puzzle as it’s put together. The different instruments and tempos make this album feel like you’re always hearing something new. I found myself enjoying it and for jazz music would return to it. 6.7/10

A very well known and probably Bowies most famous album. The depth to this album is impressive as there are so many different themes inside the story of the album. The songs themselves are pretty great, not so many big hits but a very consistent album. As with most Bowie albums I’ve had on this list this one is also better than average and a great piece of work by Bowie. 7.8/10

This was pretty much an electronic album but done by a band with the instruments of a rock band. Surprisingly that made it a tad better than most electronic albums. I still found this to be relatively boring but slightly enjoyable at times. This album isn’t anything too special and likely won’t be revisited. 3.8/10

Amnesiac is a great album because it’s made by Radiohead or because it’s actually great is how I often feel listening to this. I thoroughly enjoy Radiohead and all their music. Amnesiac is one album of theirs that I find to be on the outer edge of their appeal to me. It is Kid A part two and is similar. It also builds on what made Kid A so unique and great but some of it is a bit over exaggerated than Kid A. Their musically stylings and production is great as always. There are a few songs on here that are as good as any other album. But as a whole album I feel this one isn’t quite as good yet still better than the king of limbs. 7.7/10

Solid album by def Lep. I feel like pour some sugar on me is their quintessential song but I liked the sound of this album more than that song. This one had a good mix of arena rock/classic rock that was upbeat and easy to listen to. 6.9/10

A lovely simple country album by willie Nelson. Country music like this is some of the best. The lovely Melodies and stories built into the songs are significantly better than the poppy Nashville sound. This is a good record and could listen to it many times over. 8.1/10

A smooth jazz type album that doesn’t really excite me much and seems like decent background music. Nothing too impressive and nothing noteworthy. 3.9/10

A pretty unknown band with a wide range of stylings in this album. Felt like this band made more of a compilation album of songs. There are instrumental tracks, folk, blues, psychedelic rock, and classic rock sounds on this album. Not saying it’s bad but some were definitely better than others and it would’ve been better if they built on the strengths. This was a very average album overall though. It had the 60s sound but was a bit faded into irrelevance. 5.9/10

Leonard Cohen is a good lyricist and songwriter. I wouldn’t say he’s the best singer but his tone is unique yet monotonous and given the songs it works decently. He seems to me to be a less enjoyable Lou reed/velvet underground. The music is decent and there are a few songs worth revisiting given the right mood. 5.8/10

A pretty weird and overall underwhelming 80s pop style album. The album felt a bit long and some songs dragged on due to their repetitive lyrics. I didn’t find this one to be very interesting or that important. It was an okay album but would not be revisited. 4.2/10

A historically great album but to me it’s just decent. A lot can probably be said in the impact fats has over the years. I found the album to be jazzy and entertaining. A few songs were good and I enjoyed them. Overall it’ll be hard to revisit as the album is hard to find on streaming. Showing how dated this album is. 5.9/10

A decent singer songwriter album. He’s not the most hardcore singer and is relatively pretty generic and lame but sometimes that music isn’t always bad. A few songs on this album I thought were decent and had styles of 60s folk songs. I could listen to a few songs again but this was a long album and by the end of it the album felt like a lot of repetitive styles. 6.6/10

An okay punk album by the adverts. Lyrically this felt like a whiny compilation of songs that did not seem that hard core. The guitar riffs were pretty solid and overall the band played well. I don’t think I’d revisit this one much and it seemed kinda run of the mill for me. 5.0/10

A pretty fun and simple new wave pop album. Don’t you want me is a classic song heard numerous times. I felt that this was some standard 80s pop which isn’t great pop but it’s easy to listen to. Would listen to a couple songs again but nothing too special. 5.5/10

A nice r&b album that has some groovy hits and classic soul ballads. The guitars and vocals are both really Good on this album. I found Womacks singing to be very good as far as r and b singers go. I would listen to this album again as Womack is one of the better r and b artists. 7.2/10

Frank Sinatra is an amazing singer and a historical legend. His songs are great and at their time were some of the best music made. This album is an upbeat compilation of songs that are happy and enjoyable. Some are much better than others in his wide repertoire but listening to Sinatra is always a good time. 7.1/10

A pretty impressive album from a band I’ve never listened to before. There was a wide range of punk and rock sounds on this album. The styles felt like 80s punk some 90s and 00s alternative as well. I thought it was pretty impressive given they made this in the 80s. Some of their songs were retry insightful for the 80s as well. 7.4/10

Q-Tip does a decent job in this album but without the rest of the tribe the album falls a little flat. The production and beats are pretty decent. Q-Tip has a unique rapping style and voice. It’s not something that can carry a whole album in my opinion. I didn’t hate this album but for a hip-hop album I feel there are significantly better ones out there. 5.7/10

A classic rap album from the 90s that showed how awesome Tribe was. Their sound was influential and plenty popular for years to come. The jazz rap with the cerebral style rapping makes Tribe a unique rap group and one of the best. Low end theory is probably their most artistic album and some say their best. I find all three to be pretty equal as they each have their own strengths. Phife and q-tip are solid on this one together as they flow together as nicely as the jazz Instrumentals throughout. 7.8/10

A punk alt rock album that isn’t my favorite kind of music. It has elements of late 80s alternative style with the weird or edgy lyrics and the guitars that are distorted. The uptempo matches the punk styles. Those two combined show that this album had influences over time but I found it not that enjoyable to listen to. 4.5/10

Simon and Garfunkel are quintessential 60s folk music. They have such an interesting use of lyricism and instrumentals that make their albums fun and enjoyable. Mrs. Robinson is an amazing song and I’m not sure why. Everything about it is right. The rest of the album has interesting themes and lyrics. The instrumentals are pretty solid but nothing too complex. America and a hazy shade of winter are two other good songs on this album. 7.3/10

This was okay in the sense that it was sometimes entertaining but overall I had no idea what this was. A totally different culture of music and language. Not saying it’s bad but just not something I could properly judge. 2.0/10

Felt like this was a pretty good pop album from the 80s. The Scottish band had similar sounds to U2. The synths and instrumentals did seem a bit dated but the singer and song style makes this not feel too old. The singer has a way of making the songs seem relatable. I could listen to this album again. 6.8/10

A decent album that had some Spanish jazz influence. The girl from impanema is an enjoyable song and I always find the melody fun to listen to. The rest of the album is filled with decent to good songs that are mixed with the jazz influences by Jobim. The last couple songs that are studio sessions are unnecessary and bring the album down a little. 6.4/10

A decent album by Joni Mitchell. This one didn’t have any songs that really blew me away like the first one I got did. Her singing is good but varied on the edge of a bit much with the way she draws out some notes. The folk upbeat guitars accompany her voice well. I haven’t disliked any of her music but this one didn’t stand out too much. 5.8/10

Thought this a was really solid 90s alt rock album. Felt like they had an arctic monkeys and alternative 90s Brit rock style combined. The guitar riffs were solid and the singer does a good job. The drums were pretty solid too which is something I don’t always notice in albums. Would listen to some of it again. 6.9/10

A pretty odd album lyrically but it sounded okay. I didn’t find the music that interesting. The singer had a good voice though and it seemed similar to the antlers. Don’t think I’d revisit this one. 3.8/10

A pretty average 90s alternative album. Hole found a way to make an album where most of the varying sounds of 90s are covered. Their singer is pretty good and has a good grunge sound but also has a pop rock sound in some songs as well. They have a more casual alternative style in some songs and other songs have harder guitar riffs and grungy distortion. The album varied but it kinda made it work. Some songs were pretty good. Overall it’s not bad. 6.1/10

A rather dull album overall. The opening song was very odd. The rest of the album is a bit more normal but not that great. Rufus sounds like a combo of thom yorke and the singer from muse. The songs feel like he’s droning on and a lot of it is pretty slow and with little instrumentals. 4.2/10

Brian Eno is like a contemporary art museum for music. People say it’s good but when you’re experiencing it, it seems so different and bad that you’re not sure what people are taking about. There is a lot of elements in this album and I’d say some of it was ok but some was just weird. Not really my thing. 4.4/10

A somewhat long and drawn out album that really seemed like a mess of styles and rhythms. It was confusing listening to this album as it didn’t have any real structure or similar sounds. I thought some songs were ok but several others were not worth listening. 4.3/10

Pretty lame album by this band. Maybe that’s why it wasn’t available on Apple or Spotify. Either way this album wasn’t that good and our house was the only song worth revisiting. Some older British music was pretty bad in the 70s. 3.5/10

Fantastic album here that really elevated the 90s hip hop theme to a different level. The Fugees were able to show that gangster rap wasn’t the only cool way to do hip hop. Lauryn hill is always spectacular and it’s a shame she quit making music. The production on this album is stellar and so many songs are timeless. 8.6/10

I have no idea what this album was supposed to be. It seemed like a world tour of music that was not entertaining. I don’t think I’ll listen to this one again. 1.7/10

A different Chicago than what most people are used to. In this album, it’s a lot of progress rock and instrumental solos played for long periods. Some of the songs were solid and showed similar signs of the jazzy Chicago. This album just seemed a bit out of form but it’s not that bad. 5.8/10

A good stones album that had one great song and a bunch of other decent ones. A pretty standard stones album in my opinion that had a variety of instrumentals. This album was a turning point in the stones discography where they played less bluesy music and became a great rock band. 7.4/10

A decent psych rock album from the 60s. This one was a more positive upbeat style rock album from the kinks. The songs are relatively short and quick. Overall most of the album is pretty decent but there isn’t anything too amazing. A solid east listening album. 6.3/10

A jazzy Afro centric album that was easy to listen to but nothing that impressive. I don’t have a ton to say about this one other than it was better than expected but I don’t think I’ll revisit it. 3.2/10

A pretty typical British punk album in that it’s annoying and tries to be edgy but comes off lame. Don’t plan on revisiting this one. The singer sounded pretty full of himself. I don’t know the pint of including an interview in the album either. A load of bullocks. 2.1/10

This was a really solid album. Not the typical sound of hard rock from The Who but this was this first album and a lot of talent was heard. They had several covers on this which were really well done. Their original songs were also great and a couple classics are on this. The instrumentals are solid and Keith moon is a great drummer. Would listen to this again. 8.0/10

Not quite sure where this album was supposed to be going. The first couple songs felt like a southern rock Elgin but then some of the middle songs were absolutely bizarre. A weird overall album and nothing really good. Not quite sure it belongs on this list. 2.6/10

A quick short album of great piano hits. Jerry Lee Lewis makes some great hits and jams on the keys. I enjoyed this album but the songs were relatively quick and the run time is only like 22 minutes. Would’ve preferred more. 7.2/10

Felt like this album was a bit dull and Buckley voice felt weird. Often times I felt like his voice was sounding feminine. It isn’t anything more than a 60s folk album. None of the songs really grabbed me. Not much worth re listening to. 3.6/10

The smiths were a very solid british band. Morrissey is a good singer but a relatively shit person. It seems that sometimes that’s just how musicians are. The instrumentals on this are decent and the album isn’t too long but sometimes a bit too pretentious. It was okay overall. 5.7/10

A hard rocking fast fun album. This album has some of their best songs and this is easily their best album. The guitar riffs on this are amazing. The drum work is great. The only thing I dislike is the singers voice sometimes but this is an impressive album when compared to the other ones on this list. 8.2/10

Another solid classic rock album by the doors. Morrison hotel offers a wide array of instrumentals and styles played throughout. The album is fun and Morrison does a great job singing. Would definitely check this one out again. 7.9/10

This album was way too long for how much substance was actually on this. Having what felt like five minute interludes was rough. The album never felt like it actually started which may have been the point but it was missed on me. 2.2/10

This is probably my favorite arcade fire album even though they have others that are more popular. This one was a great blend of their orchestra and unique instrumentals mixed with good lyrics and enjoyable Melodies. I could listen to this album several times through as it has many layers and packs so much in it. Definitely one of the better contemporary albums on this list. 8.4/10

A very well done solo album by Wu-Tang member GZA. With the simple and stripped 90s beats GZA throws down some very lyrical raps. He does a good job in creating an atmosphere of the shaolin mixed with NY street life. GZA is a bit one dimensional which brings this album down a little but it helps he has several wu tang features and some good samples throughout. This is a strong album always worth a visit if seeking a good lyrical album. 7.7/10

One of the few foreign language albums that I enjoyed. It helps a lot of it was Spanish jazz instrumentals but even the songs with lyrics were still pretty fun to listen to. The brass throughout the album carries the Spanish style and provides a nice upbeat rhythm. Some of the songs were familiar as they were samples in more modern songs. Don’t know if I’d listen much again but I enjoyed it a little bit. 5.7/10

A pretty interesting and very basic 80s album that came out just before the big wave. The new wave sound that the B52s used seem to be some of the most popular and crazy style sounds that make the music dated but is impressive since they were some of the first. Some of the songs like rock lobster are fun and catchy. Would revisit some songs. 6.0/10

A pretty good album when it comes to the beats and catchiness. Overall it was okay and felt like the songs had some variance within themselves. Planet rock was good but the second part of it was the best. The album is relatively short but it provides good material in its time. 6.3/10

A good album but not their best album. I think toxicity deserves to be on this list more but either way this album is still good. Given that it’s their first helped show what soad was made of. The fast and high powered guitar. Serj having a wife vocal range dnd using it in weird was. This album was just okay though. 6.4/10

All Hope Is Gone is a good album by Slipknot but definitely not their best. This was well into their career and their style changed a little on this album. Silver and psychosocial are decent more mainstream hard rock songs. Having s chorus that is actually sung isn’t very metal but it makes them easier to listen to. There’s a lot of typical metal stuff in here but it’s not done as well as iowa or Slipknot. Just like SOAD’s album it’s interesting why this one was picked for Slipknot over some of their others. Still would revisit some of the songs from this one. 7.1/10

The Temptations are one of the best Motown groups. Their wide vocal range and ability to make songs feel so many different ways is amazing. Papa was a rolling stone is a groovy funk filled song. And then first time ever I saw your face is a really well done cover and always a beautiful song. Very much enjoyed this album and all of its components. Wish it was longer. 8.3/10

A pretty odd album that never really seemed to mesh together well. It felt like there were times when it was a more of a classic rock album but then other times it felt like a prog rock/psychedelic album with some odd instrumentals. I felt like the combination didn’t mesh well. Doubt I’ll revisit this one. 5.2/10

A different kind of beck album. This one was melancholy and a bit more introspective. The tone was rather sad but had some interesting beats and instrumentals throughout. I thought it was pretty decent but was an album that needed a specific mood to listen. 6.6/10

This album was pretty decent. Had a bunch of different styles played throughout. Overall I felt it to have strong blues vibes while still having a classic prick sound. Overall not really any song in particular stood out but for this album coming out in the 60s it felt ahead of its time. 6.3/10

Thought that this was a pretty average overall but with some early alternative sounds throughout. Some of the songs were decent but then others were relatively bad. Felt like this band was influential in their sound since they were early 80s although it didn’t feel too refined and the excessive bonus tracks showed that. 5.9/10

Dolly Parton really knew how to put out albums back in the 60s and 70s. This is one of her better ones but not her best. Coat of many colors is a great song that has an easy yet strong story. Dolly was part of country music that showed it was okay to struggle and have hard times and not everything is about a party. She is one of the best female country artists and this album shows off her great voice and excellent song writing. 7.6/10

One of the best albums of all time. There’s more to it each time I listen. The hard values of life and what it means to understand them wrapped in an album. Pink Floyd had an ability to make songs impactful and the instrumentals match in their own way. This album is just perfectly well done. 10/10

A pretty typical indie album that isn’t incredibly fascinating. Some of the album is a lot of synths and Lofi style sounds. The few songs that are a bit more mainstream are okay but still somewhat lack luster. I’m sure in circles there are people that love this album but I was not feeling it. 4.9/10

An interesting jazzy album that was a little better than expected. Weirdly enough have heard some of one song because it was sampled before. This album was ok though. 4.5/10

This is more of a comedy folk album with some songs in between more than a musical album. Sometimes funny sometimes witty and all the time sounding like he needs a cough drop. His voice is rough but the music is okay and the style is unique. If you like folk you may like this. I find it ok. 4.9/10

A pretty upbeat and entertaining classical style album that I guess is a twist on tango. Overall it was easy to listen to and I enjoyed it but I don’t think I’ll revisit this one much. 4.1/10

A weird crossover between Christian music and folk. Not the best album to listen to all the way through. Some of the folky songs weren’t too bad but overall it dragged and wasn’t that special. 3.7/10

A classic in the jazz genre. This album has some great songs and is enjoyable. Take five is a classic jazz song. I’m not the most well versed in jazz technical terms but this album seems to be a cut above and different than some typical jazz band albums. 8.0/10

One of my favorite Beatles albums. The transition from pop band to psychedelic rock is evident here. Many popular songs but with unique instrumentals and great Melodie’s. A lil of their wound are great and I’d say this one is top 3. 8.6/10

A decent album that felt like a cookie cutter version of steely Dan given he is on half of them. Usually when people make solo stuff their music sounds a little different but Fagen stayed true to the steely Dan style which isn’t a bad thing since I like them but I found it similar to their music but not as good. 6.9/10

For a rock album I thought this was one of the lesser enjoyed ones I’ve had. Their songs are pretty stupid and feel like they were written by a 16 year old. The instrumentals are pretty generic but the dainger has an average voice and overall it was lame. 4.3/10

A pretty weird and very 80s Esque album. With the whole album being the theme from thriller this album probably has a set group of listeners. The synths are heavily played and one song repeated itself for nine minutes. Safe to say this one wasn’t great. 3.9/10

This was a difficult album to finish. The women in this band did not make enjoyable music. At one point they yelled like banshees which was questionable. The cover of heard it through the grapevine was putrid and insulting to Marvin Gaye. A really bad album. 1.7/10

A solid jazz album by Getz. This one I have not heard before but upon first listen I instantly enjoyed the smooth best and mild tempo. The whole album stayed in a pretty relaxed range but the technical skill made it enjoyable. A good jazz album to revisit. 7.5/10

Not a bad album but definitely feels like a niche rock/punk/songwriter mix. The instrumentals are pretty good and provide a daunting and forceful sound. The album is a bit long as it’s a double album. I don’t dislike it but I don’t think I’d revisit many songs if any. 6.1/10

An okay album by the Irish band. I get having one of their albums on this list but two seems silly. Their music isn’t that amazing. By now I’ve learned that my musical taste just isn’t completely in line with this catalog of albums. Having two albums by the pogues is a great example of it. But this is fine I guess. 5.5/10

Not the most impressive 70s rock album but with 20 something songs there were a couple that were pretty good. The thing about double albums is if you don’t love the artist it feels like it drags on for a while. The first song of this album is pretty good. It doesn’t pick up much from there. It feels like pretty typical 70s rock pop and this could’ve been a bit shorter. 5.8/10

This album may not be the most hard rocking but it still rocks in its own way. The catchy Melodies and choruses make this a great album. Add in some jazzy sax and some smooth guitar playing and you have a great album. Hard to say if this is their best album, I know Aja is very well liked as well but this was first. Either way Steely Dan is essential dad rock and I’m only getting older. 8.5/10

A pretty awesome rap album with a little bit of rock. There are some great classics on this album like it’s tricky. I feel like rap like this was very unique to the decade but can’t be replicated anymore. Run dmc are one of the best rap duos and this album is at the top. 7.8/10

George Michael was able to make some great pop music in the late 80s and early 90s. This album is pretty consistent throughout and has a couple of good tracks. Wouldn’t revisit most of it but if I heard it again I wouldn’t dislike it. 6.0/10

A decent singer songwriter album. Adams has a solid voice and I like some of his later albums a bit more than this one. I’m sure since this is his first that’s why it’s on the list. Overall the music is pretty standard for a breakup album. It’s somber and remorseful. It has Americana vibes which I like. 6.3/10

Cat Stevens makes such whelming music but it is pretty good. This album doesn’t have peace train which I think is his best song but wild world is also great and hard headed woman is solid. His songs are quick catchy and fun. Overall this album has some replay value. 7.4/10

I thought this was a pretty impressive jazz album. It was primarily high temp and had some amazing brass sounds. I felt the album did a good job of providing a unique jazz sound that in 57 was new to a lot of people. Would listen to some of this again. 7.1/10

A classic old fashioned country album with the unique sound of the Bakersfield beat. A sound that I associate with Dwight yoakim was brought up original by buck Owens. Several of these songs provide that old school country sound that Merle has and these have a bit more of a punch as they are short, fun and quick. Thought this was a good country album and would listen to some again. 6.8/10

A noisy angry punk album. Didn’t particularly enjoy this one as the lyrics were a bit overly aggressive. The instrumentals were fine, pretty average for a punk album but I don’t particularly enjoy the genre. 4.2/10

A mostly love song album that goes on for quite a while. At 20 songs there’s no shortage of romantic topics covered. I felt like this was a white R&B album. Smooth, enjoyable, not that complex and a little poppy. Never really listened to this guy but he seems like a Walmart John Lennon. Overall thought it was okay. 6.5/10

An interesting concept to have a symphony with Metallica as they play some of their best songs. It feels like it’s trying to be James Bond and John Wick but significantly less cooler. This album is two genres that don’t mesh well and sound better on their own. An interesting concept but poor execution. 4.6/10

Not a bad album but overall it felt pretty boring. Not as vocally strong as disintegration but better than pornography. This felt like a lofi/mild emo album. I could see how the killers may have used this album for their early stuff. To me though I didn’t love this one. 5.0/10

The greatness of this album is that Eminem made everyone lose their mind when this came out. The bad about this album is compared to his other ones it’s definitely his rawest and the beats are good but not great. Some of these songs are great and I still like them to this day. Probably my second favorite album of his. 8.4/10

An album that has a sound perfect for the decade it came from. It was an okay album. A boppy casual listen. It was lyrical enough to not be electronic but the beats made it feel like it was trying to be something else. Overall it was okay to listen to but nothing worth revisiting. 5.6/10

It’s an okay pop/alternative album. Lovefool is their most known song on this and I enjoy it. Their cover of Iron Man was different and thought it was done decently well. Overall it was a decent genre bending album that had a pop sound mainly due to the upbeat female vocals but also the alternative style of the songs made it a little cooler than most pop albums. 6.1/10

An absolutely great funky soul album. Lady is a classic and some of the other songs on this are pretty solid covers. The album is a bit long but overall all of the songs are pretty good. The way they cover some of these classic sounds is innovative and cool. Definitely would revisit most songs on this one. 7.5/10

An earlier lighter punk album that really is not that great overall. Most of the songs are pretty lame. So many punk albums on this list. This probably makes it due to its early release but overall it isn’t much worth revisiting. 4.4/10

This was my first time hearing Latin alternative music. A genre that is so weird and unnecessary. The face this album won an award shows maybe I don’t know shit about music because I thought the album was bad. It was a mix of so many kings of music and was not great. 3.3/10

Didn’t really enjoy this one and felt like it was hard to get in to. The lady doesn’t do a bad job of singing or the production of the songs but it more so just wasn’t music that I find enjoyable. 3.5/10

A solid alternative rock album that may have used more instrumental tracks than necessary. They do a nice job with the guitar riffs and the singer has a unique but familiar sound. Felt overall it was good and would revisit some of the songs. 6.6/10

Not the best late 90s/early 2000s alt rock album available. I always felt like incubus was the lamer options of the alternative bands. Drive is a decent song but it gets old. Pardon me is only okay. Incubus just never really makes you feel excited to say let’s listen to incubus. But overall this is still better than a good portion of albums on this list. 5.7/10

A very psychedelic album a pretty much to the point to where it’s too much. I’ve heard songs from Rundgren before but these were nothing like the ones I like. Don’t think I’d revisit this one as I’m not dropping acid or drinking shroom tea all that often. 3.9/10

I am not sure how one of this guys albums made this list let alone two. This album was filled with stories and songs that were so rough to listen to. The singer just talks and it’s mainly anecdotes that are supposed to seem cool or edgy. Overall it was terrible. 1.3/10

I gotta say that album cover is wild. This album is wild. Jeru has some wild flow. I thought this album was solid. Jeru feels like a lost member of Wu tang. The early 90s east coast rap style was so crisp and fun to listen to. It required strong lyrics and smooth beats. This album impressed me and o would listen again. 7.4/10

I don’t know what to make of this album because the lead singer basically whispered every song. I got through about 6 songs and it felt like I always had to increase the volume. I didn’t really find the instrumentals anything noteworthy either. An overall big pass. 2.5/10

The first half of this album wasn’t bad. A decent cover and a more soft rock style. The second half of this album felt very Irish and reminded me of a Pogues album. Would’ve preferred it stay like the first half. 5.8/10

An okay Brit pop album. I will say that the album art is pretty weird, who kisses like that. The music wasn’t that weird but more so boring. It seemed similar to the smiths but with less character or douchebaggery. Overall it was pretty forgettable. 5.2/10

A female led grunge rock album from the 90s. Didn’t realize Courtney Love was the lead singer of this band. It makes sense given the style and also that she killed her husband!! Jokes aside this is a decent album but it doesn’t hit as well as some other grunge albums. 5.8/10

A showtimes sounding album made for crass listeners. It is odd with how good his voice is and how old school it sounds with the vulgar and odd lyrics of the songs. Overall it wasn’t great and I found myself wanting to skip a few songs. As good as the voice is it can’t make this album worth listening. Scott 2 deserves a 2. 4.2/10

An okay folk album. I prefer the first album by Joni Mitchell as it had more melodic songs and wasn’t as folky. This album was about as folky as it gets as these songs were written were on a road trip. Didn’t feel like there were many songs worth revisiting in this one but I didn’t dislike the album. 5.5/10

This album has more of a historical impact that’s significant more than me Enjoying the songs themselves. Being the influencer for Pink Floyd this band/album is pretty impressive. However some of the songs drag on. With only 5 songs it doesn’t feel long but each song is unique and its own journey. I don’t love the album like some prog rock fans do but I’m here for its significance. 6.7/10

This band is a lot cooler than expected but their biggest downfall was being in the 80s. The instrumentals are insanely entertaining. Jazzy, funky, poppy they nail a lot of different genres with a lot of different instruments. However the new wave sound of singing brings this album down. The new wave drag of singing is not something I particularly enjoy. If this was a modern band they’d probably jam more than sing. Overall not bad would listen again. 6.9/10

The best Beatles album. One of the best albums of all time. This album created so many different styles of music and was vastly influential. My short blurb does not do the band justice on the impact this album has made on society. An amazing album from beginning to the spectacular end. One of the best album covers. Everything about this, even George’s eastern inspired tracks, make this album so interesting to listen to each time. 10/10

An album that is meant to be the tone to go with death. The old voice of cohen is tough to listen to after a few moments. Couldn’t enjoy this album mainly due to the singing. At some point, artists that are old shouldn’t make music. 3.4/10

This is a decent 80s album that has some signs of contemporary stylings but also is lackluster with typical 80s pop sounds. The first half of this album is pretty solid. Bonny and appetite are nicely made songs. The second half of the album is whiny 80s pop that doesn’t hold up. If this album was as good in the second half as the first it would be much more memorable. Overall some has replay value and it’s good. 6.5/10

Green Day’s best album. Jesus of suburbia has some major hits but that was after they were established. This bum out greenday on the map and a lot of talk was had about them. So many good songs on this album too. Now people call them pop punk but I don’t think at anytime they felt poppy. It’s not your typical 70s/80s punk but it’s 90s punk that went mainstream. Well made music will go mainstream. Green Day made punk likeable which is against what most punk artists believe but I like it and so do many others. Solid stuff. 8.2/10

Almost all frank sinatra music is good. However some of it feels more dated than others and especially when the songs are all in the same realm. This album is a very niche style and has its drawbacks of being too slow and repetitive at times. Frank shines best with his excellent song writing, but a whole album of sad love songs is tough to stomach from any artist. Not terrible but hard to love. 6.2/10

An okay album with a couple great songs. The interesting thing about this album and all the other American albums are that they were produced by Rick Rubin. I feel like the acoustic covers works good and bad depending on the song. Hurt is done excellently. Some of the other songs fall a bit flat like the depeche mode cover. Overall it’s not bad but fans of certain songs may like others. 6.3/10

Not too sure why people love Fiona Apple so much. I listened to this album when it came out because people were so excited about it and did not care for it. I listened to again because of this list and do not find it enjoyable again. The experimental drums was a miss. The singing wasn’t great sounding. All in all I did not enjoy it. 2.5/10

The Beatles at their original pop sensation stage put out a hard days night and a movie to go with it to take over the world. John and Paul do a great job on this album making some incredibly catchy songs that are fun to repeat over and over. A reason people call the Beatles the best is because they have written so many good songs on every album that some bands only do a few times every few years. The early albums weren’t as deep as others but was still a force of culture sensation and splendid to listen to. 8.4/10

Billy Joel’s best album by far and without it he may be more so considered for his one big hit. The songs on this album have a great way of story telling while also keeping you hooked with the rhythm. Only on the back half of the album so you get some less memorable songs. Overall this has great piano features and has vary Ming moods and tones that make it enjoyable for all kinds of people and different listening avenues. One of my favorite albums. 9.0/10

I don’t get the point of this music. This sounds like if bob seger removed all his musical talent and then tried to sing and play various instruments. All in all this album could’ve been okay if some of the random noises were removed but this was a weird collection of songs and I do not plan on revisiting it. 2.3/10

This album is what it feel like when you try to be really cool and mellow and then it doesn’t make much sense. The album is decent as it’s pretty avant garde with the various styles and it doesn’t feel like an album from 98. It doesn’t really go anywhere but that’s I feel most electronics albums are. This is decent but I didn’t enjoy it. It was just easy to listen to. 4.7/10

An okay album that I would prefer to hear as a studio album compared to a live version. Like most songs or albums the live version takes away from some of the best sounding parts of the song and adds crowd noise that makes the album less enjoyable. This album is no different. I like James brown. I like these songs but I don’t enjoy the live album aspect. 4.6/10

A decent album by wine house. It’s definitely not as good as back to black but this album is nicely done and is unique. It’s jazzy and fun but also dark and displays a side that most music doesn’t. Lyrically wine house doesn’t hold much back. The draw back to this album is it isn’t as refined. Overall it’s okay and a couple of songs are worth revisiting. 6.1/10

An album I listened to many times over and over when I was younger. I still enjoy the album and think the music is pretty good. Some songs aren’t as enjoyable now. The rap/rock combo doesn’t work often but linkin park has made it work having two different vocalists do it. I prefer metoera over this album but this debut is awesome and I’ll listen to it for years to come. 8.0/10

This is a really good album and if I was a bit older or grew up in a time when this was more influential this may have gotten 5 stars. However, this being released in 65 is pretty amazing. This album has some good rock songs, sad rock songs, folk songs and is really well written. In a time when the Beatles were growing the pop stage Bob Dylan held down the contemporary sound and giving a path to a lot of older alternative style of rock or folk. This album is a great predecessor to so many other bands and it still sounds good. 8.3/10

This is The rock album. There are many before it and many after it but this was the pinnacle of rock. The only drawback is the battle of evermore. It’s not bad at all just kinda goes off page from the rest of the album even though it builds into stairway to heaven. Which is one of the most overplayed songs but because it is so good. All the songs on this album aside from the previously mentioned are classics and could carry any album in their own. To have them all on one is amazing. This is the best rock album made. And unfortunately it won’t be topped. 9.7/10

Not quite sure what this band was going fit when they made this. One of the jazzy parts were actually okay but that was about it. It seemed that the various song styles and weird lyrics had no direction at all. I didn’t enjoy this much and probably won’t revisit it. 4.3/10

This is a solid soul R&B album. Burke has a splendid voice that can hit a wide range of notes and brings a lot of emotion. The album is pretty quintessential soul where it’s about love songs in most situations. There’s not much bad about this album. The biggest drawback is the age of it and finding the mood to listen to it. But this is worth revisiting. 6.5/10

An absolutely great album. Exile in Main St and this one are probably two of the stones best albums. They have many others that contend with how they consistently put out great jams on albums but sticky fingers Is a whole of great songs that have great instrumentals and the lyrics are always interesting whether it be about drugs life women etc. This album can be listened to all the time and replayed constantly. It’s quite good. 9.1/10

A solid classic rock album that has one fantastic song and many other good ones. Sultans if swing is obviously the big hitter but water of love and down to the waterline are both pretty good. The album itself flows pretty seamlessly and is enjoyable. It’s repeatable through the first part but kinda of drifts in the ladder half. Overall it’s a good solid album. 7.6/10

This is an absolute wtf kind of album. There are some decent instrumental tracks that are jazzy and classical and then there are tracks of talking and then just noises I suppose. It was jumbled and disorienting and quite terrible at times. Not sure all these songs could be considered music. Puzzling how this made the list. 1.9/10

Not a bad album here by gene Clark. The sound is similar to Emil young but with a bit more country and rock involved. The songwriting is pretty good and I enjoyed most of the songs. Nothing really blew me away as it was pretty similar throughout but the album wasn’t as good as white light. Would still revisit. 6.8/10

This is an okay album by Bowie. The saxophone provides a nice jazzy element that makes the album feel older than it is. Overall I didn’t find this album too remarkable as I do other Bowie albums. It didn’t seem to have any notable songs that I would return to. Still good in comparison to most albums on this list but for Bowie it was just okay. 6.0/10

Pretty shocked this album made it on the list. The debut album from the killers held nothing back. The first half of this album is pretty amazing. Mr brightside I’d a great song and unfortunately has become so overplayed now. This album is pretty nostalgic as I listened to it many times since it released and still do from time to time. The songs are catchy, fun and a good mix of the new wave sound with the modern melodic punk of the 00s. They were one of my favorite bands and this album is why. 9.1/10

This is a solid modern alt pop style album. As far as contemporary music goes this has a nice feeling of old styles with modern sound. It’s not something that I would listen to all the time but given the right mood or setting this music is pretty enjoyable. It’s not too complicated but the layers of sound make it a good album. 6.5/10

This is Dylan at his commercial best. Moving away from the ultra folky sound and moving towards the then contemporary band stylings in the 70s this album combines his masterful songwriting with a full ensemble of instrumentals. Probably one of his best albums and has some if his best songs. This is one that can be replayed many times and new lyrics will be picked up each listen. Really enjoyed this album. 8.2/10

Back to back Dylan albums. Bob Dylan made many good albums and this one was one of his better folk ones. Less refined as blood on the tracks but this album had some great songs in true Dylan fashion. Desolation row is an enduring ballad. Like a rolling stone is a solid hit. Dylan’s lyricism is what makes this album enjoyable. He was still a bit raw and overtly folky it a good album worth revisiting. 7.7/10

This was shaping up to be a decent album. I liked the smoother tracks and some of the jazz instrumentals. The rap song was completely unnecessary and derailed the whole album. This might’ve been a 3/5 without it but as an album on the whole it’s not as good because of it. Some songs I would listen to but not the whole thing. 5.2/10

Probably Elvis Costello’s best album that I’ve hear so far but I also haven’t found one that’s that great in general. This is a bit more enjoyable as it has a soft rock style with good instrumentals. I do find his singing pics to be the hardest thing to like about him. May revisit but doubtful. 5.8/10

A good rocking metal album that is a bit more stuck in the hair metal yelling style. The instrumentals are really good I enjoyed most of the songs. The hard part to get through was the higher pitched yells that were very much an 80s thing and feel dated now. Not my favorite metal band but one that is pretty talented. 6.4/10

I like rod stewart and this album was kinda below par with what I would expect from him. It felt pretty bluesy rock throughout most of the album. I didn’t know these were covers but that always kinda knocks the album down with less creativity. His first solo album is good and had some nice songs and some of his later albums did but this one was a blend of pretty average songs. 6.3/10

This was a wild ride of noises and not much of it was that enjoyable. Overall it was hard to get through one listen. Seems like this was if you smoked meth and dropped acid at the same time. Overall not something I could listen to nor want to. 2.3/10

A decent folk pop all in that provides nice Melodie’s and catchy instrumentals. I’ve never heard of this album or artist before but I thought it was well done for what it was and enjoyed most of the songs. It felt somewhat like a nick drake album but with less dread. I’d revisit most of these songs for casual listening. 6.3/10

A funny band name and an album full of 90s sounds that goes on a bit too long. It has a punk alternative sound that’s similar to the smashing pumpkins but it becomes a bit of mess throughout that doesn’t have any direction. I didn’t hate it but it was nothing special or worth revisiting. 4.7/10

A fairly okay country pop album from the 70s. The first song on this album is the best and from there it slowly decreases in quality. I felt that the love hurts cover was not that great. The country pop style in the 70s was different than it is now leaning more on the pop than country twang. But overall it’s an okay album with a few songs that are worth revisiting. 6.0/10

A great disco funk soul album by one of the best soul bands. This album has three amazing songs on it and only one kinda bad song which is really just an instrumental track. It has great replay value. The popular songs, reasons and shining star, stand out far and above as they are timeless hits. Earth Wind and Fire had a great ability to use jazzy instrumentals to keep a funky sound while having impeccable vocals. This is a great listen. 8.2/10

This was an interesting and long pop/electronic album. The first song started off great and I really enjoyed it. As the album progressed it felt like it had some daft punk sounds going on and other times it felt like a 90s pop album mixed with distorted techno sounds which wasn’t great. And then I found out I still had about six more songs. Overall it was too long for what it was and didn’t live up to the first song. 4.6/10

One of New Yorks gangster rap pinnacle albums. This is an album that is long but doesn’t feel long. It has high energy. It has some great hits that even today are great tunes. 50 cent had some good features with Eminem and other G unit members. This is one of the better rap album from the 00s and probably 50s best album. 8.3/10

This was some tough punk music. I can see why people who like punk music would like this because it felt raw and twisted. I have a hard time enjoying punk music and this album didn’t seem much different. Angry, young and talented that’s how I would describe some good punk music and this fit that but it’s not something I can enjoy. 4.0/10

Thundercat is kinda like a modern George Clinton. Very experimental and funky and has his own style. This album is alright, I prefer his more recent one. Drunk is an album of shorter songs with plenty of features. It doesn’t really seem to make sense but maybe that’s the intention since it’s called drunk. Either way it’s good and I like it. 6.5/10

This album might be the most mediocre below average album I’ve ever heard. The singers voice us pretty lame. The song lyrics are boring and uneventful. The instrumentals are okay but lacking. Overall this album is an hour of music that just doesn’t hit. None of it us objectively bad it’s just boring. 4.6/10

A decent hip hop album and pretty good female led rap album. The debut album of Missy Elliott showed that she had rapping skills right away. The production by Timbaland was funky and had some decent bests throughout the album. The album was a bit long with an hour run time. Some songs could’ve been cut but overall it was a well done album that came out okay to me. There were a couple good songs that showed her skills but other than that most were pretty average. 5.9/10

This is a solid rap album. Common has some great beats on this one and lyrically he does a solid job. He has some awesome features too with a young Kanye and mos def. This album is about as good the last one. Both of his albums aren’t typical violent rap or overtly sexual which is a nice change of pace since he does a good job production wise. 7.6/10 of his albums are generally positive and

To me this just seems like a calmer, less exciting arctic monkeys album mainly due to Alex Turners lead. This is a good album and I enjoy his voice. The instrumentals are good and ended up being more similar to later monkeys albums compared to their 2000s ones. This was a good mesh of British alternative and classical sounds with a wide range of instrumentals. Just like any other Arctic monkeys albums I’d relisten to this one. 7.3/10

This is a decent album. U2 gets a lot of hate for their attempts at being way too deep and how they portray themselves but overall their music is pretty good. They’ve been around for 4 decades and have made hits. This album is a bit more relaxed and the instrumentals are more upbeat. There are a couple songs that are replayable and have some worth. The song writing isn’t as depressing and this album is pretty solid. 6.7/10

A decent debut album by the byrds. A stark contrast to their other country rock album I had earlier. This album is very 60s esque with love songs and some psychedelic sounds. Overall it sounds like a folky version of Beatles songs. He harmonies are very Beatles Esque. I don’t love really any song in this album but it’s okay to listen to. 6.1/10

An interesting electronic album. Overall I thought it was okay. It’s pretty cool that these guys made this album in the late 70s. Seems like most electronic music is done with computers so this has to be one of the first of its kind. The beats were pretty decent. Somewhat simple but that’s not really unexpected given their era. Overall I wouldn’t revisit it but it gets some approval for being ahead of its time. 4.3/10

Overall the album had a lot of promise. Besides the odd name, The instrumentals are unique and some sound like classic rock and some are more alternative and punk. They are taken down a notch with their cheap false edgy lyricism. Overall there are songs similar to the who and good bands but given that they made this album twenty something years after those sounds were popular they ruined the tone with the mid 2000s tone of saying a bunch of things that don’t have substance. 4.7/10

Adele has a ton of talent. Her third album showed that with her vocal range. The songs however were pretty boring and morose compared to her previous two albums. I get there may be a reason behind that but overall this album didn’t have the great quality that 21 had. Hello is a good song and vocally she’s one of the best modern pop singers. Overall this is okay but not the best. 6.2/10

Cover bands and divorced women in bedazzled jeans have one thing in common. They love the song hard to handle. The black crowed are pretty decent and makes some good causal southern rock songs. It just so happens that their style has become so generic and boring that to listen to it now feels like it lacks any creativity. Their music is good but it falters being in between classic rock and modern alternative. Either way it’s better than most on this list. 6.5/10

For a Bollywood movie soundtrack I actually expected worse. This was okay as it was jazzy and had solid instrumentals. Overall though I don’t see any reason why I would revisit it when there are far more exceptional jazz albums out there. 3.6/10

An okay album that I feel gets better the more you listen. Cohen doesn’t have the best singing voice but he focuses on the story and lyrics. If not given the right attention his music seems uninspiring and not approachable. Overall it’s not something I would revisit but it seems like you have to, to really enjoy what he was trying to make. 4.4/10

Feel like this album is somewhat overrrated for what it is. It takes from the velvet underground and the stones and tries to be a darker deeper album from the 70s. I don’t really enjoy any of the songs and probably won’t revisit them. It has done decent instrumentals and overall sound but there’s just too many albums from that era that did it better. 5.3/10

A technically sound album with some amazing instrumentals. This is an album full of skill and talent. BB is the king of blues and this album shows why. To preform a live album with this much intensity I’d a major feat. Normally I don’t enjoy live albums but this is so well done. 7.9/10

This is pretty basic soft rock music from the 70s. It sounds like this guy has some problems enunciating and his singing is like being dragged across sandpaper. The instrumentals are decent and relaxing but it doesn’t help restore the rough sound of the singing. I enjoyed one song on this album more than the others but overall it wasn’t great. 5.5/10

Like an alternative Spanish style album. Not sure what the importance of this one as there were far greater albums in the 00s but I’ve realized this list isn’t about good or popular music. It’s about what random album was made in a time when no one else did it. Doesn’t matter if people listen to it. This is that kind of album. 4.7/10

This album has a ton of elements to it and its 15 songs in 40 minutes covers a lot of differing sounds and styles. It’s pretty impressive and I’ve never really listened to the Pixies before. This was an album that has good replay value and I would revisit it. It sounds like it had influence in weeper, smashing pumpkins and similar artists. 7.2/10

This was a really hard to find album and yet it’s somehow one of the 1001 albums I need to hear. Interesting. Overall it also was not that great to listen to. So I’d say this album was not that important. 3.4/10

Explosion is probably the only word in the album title that describes this. It is just that. Someone’s brain exploded and they turned their thoughts into sounds and created this mess of an album. It isn’t good. It makes little sense. It kind of gets manageable near the end but by then it’s already made its point. Not good. Many other records greater than this. 3.7/10

Well done and well executed blues performance by muddy waters. A live performance that doesn’t differ much from the quality of studio sound due to the artists ability to actually sing. This is how live albums should be. Overall this is quintessential blues and this paved the way for so many artists. I don’t particularly love any part but this is important music. 6.0/10

This album had a couple familiar songs but most of it was an interesting take on soul and funk in the 70s. Maybe not the most popular of sly’s songs on this album but it had a good range of styles/instrumentals/beats. Feel like this album dug a little deeper. Felt like childish gambino would have used styles like this. Overall it’s solid. 6.4/10

One of my favorite albums by one of my favorite bands. Their debut album is probably their overall best as almost every song on this is a solid hit. The guitar rhythms are simplistic yet energetic and catchy. The lyrics are great and have a decent angst to them without being overtly punky. Overall this may be one of my most listened to album and I don’t think there is a better album from the 2000s. 10/10

An aptly named album. This is some above average music that grooves. It has some enjoyable soul components to the overall pop sound that ruled the 60s. This wasn’t overtly poppy and kind of meshed between The Beach Boys and soul music. It’s a really enjoyable mesh of genres that should’ve been recreated more often. This is worth revisiting. 6.9/10 (nice)

A decent album but not on of steely dans best. Not even close to as good as can’t buy a thrill. And then there were a few other albums after this one that I enjoy more. This album had a couple songs I like but it’s a lot of early prog rock jazzy instrumentals. This is a decent album and I’ll listen to some other songs again but they have made significantly better albums. 6.5/10

The boy who album that I’ve listened to multiple times. This is easily their best and for a band that’s known for dragging songs out and having lengthy albums this is pretty similar. They fill that time with hard guitar riffs and fantastic piano chords. Overall this is a fantastic classic rock album that everyone needs to hear. 7.9/10

A pretty rugged and uneventful album by Tom waits. He has probably the raspiest voice and to listen to a whole album of it gets dreadful towards the end. I feel his older years are better spent acting than singing. The authentic and earthly nature of his songs don’t save this album from being mediocre. 4.3/10

This is an amazing album and by no means do I have the knowledge to understand all the great musical qualities this album possesses. I know that prince is a legend and that he makes anything cool. This is my favorite album of his as it has great rocking guitar riffs and flows perfectly with synths and pop sounds that nobody else could combine besides maybe Michael Jackson. Prince did it all though and that’s why he’s a legend. This album is one of the best ever and I enjoy listening to it from time to time. 8.9/10

Never heard of this band/album before and it makes sense why. In the height of grunge and alternative music this band continued the trend but falls mostly flat. The aggressiveness is there but it sounds poorly done. The instrumentals sound generic and don’t excite. Overall this isn’t worth revisiting. 4.4/10

Thanks to Chef I have heard 1 song on this album before. And it’s the best song on this album. That song is Very catchy and fun to listen to. The rest of the album is some decent ska music but I never would’ve expected it to be as old as it was. Overall it was decent and mildly impressive. 5.2/10

This is some of Stevie wonders best work. The funky synthesizer sounds were ahead of its time and he was so good an experience ring while sounding proficient. The positivity and joy that exudes from his music makes it some of the most enjoyable to listen to. This isn’t as good as songs in the key of life but this is probably number two in his albums. Overall it is splendid and worth listening to many times over. 8.4/10

Depeche Mode is a band that you have to want to hear. Their sound is too unique to be able to enjoy at any moments notice. I find it interesting that their music was in clubs in the 80s. Feel like that would bring the mood down. Overall this isn’t as good as violator and I didn’t find any songs with revisiting really. 5.6/10

An alright album by Neil Young. It’s not nearly as good as either Harvest or after the Gold Rush. Also prefer some albums with crazy horse. Overall this wasn’t my favorite Neil young and felt like it was very generically Neil young. 5.5/10

A pretty terribly named album if you ask me. This album was in the bad to okay range. I was able to listen to some of it without issues but there were a few songs that I loathed. The definition of music often varies when it comes to albums like this where the worst singing and guitar noises come to life. Remove a couple songs and this album is tolerable but overall not for my pleasure. 4.3/10

Jeff Buckley has a stupendous voice and hallelujah is a song that can be listened to at any moment and chills will be felt. The rest of the album teeters on great singing ability and somewhat hymnal sounding music. Overall it’s a good album that featured his singing best. The songs themselves leave something to be desired with the talent. Would listen to most again. 7.0/10

Snoooooooop. Doggystyle has one of the best rap songs of all time in gin and juice. A lot of the album is pretty awesome as well with heavy stylings of g funk. Snoop is always best when he has a feature with him but this album is definitely his best overall with the best production and lyricism. A true classic 90s rap album that made snoop Dogg more than just a Dr. Dre sidekick. 8.2/10

This is historically some of the best music ever made. It’s before technology had an impact on music and artists had to be talented. Aretha sings her heart out on this album. Every song is well made and sounds great. This is an album that is done the way music is supposed to be made. 7.9/10

This was an album I haven’t heard before and exceeded my expectations. I thought it was light, minimal, and innovative. The beats were pretty simple and easy to enjoy. The lyrics were like an 80s tone of robotic speak. Overall it was something I’d revisit and listen to more. 7.2/10

Vastly underwhelming album. Felt like I was in a dated play performed by the boomer club of Britain. This list has enough modern albums that it could be updated enough to have this one removed. It’s not necessarily bad as some one star albums that I just don’t like. This is more just not important enough as other albums. 4.2/10

Pink Floyd is probably my top 3 favorite classic rock artist. They made the prog rock music genre commercially successful and celebrated. The Wall is a great album that cuts the album j to shorter song snippets that mesh together. The concept album brings everything together and makes it easy to listen to again and again. It’s not their most popular and maybe not their best but it’s still Pink Floyd doing what they do best. 9.3/10

A good album of Otis Redding singing some classic songs. I’d say this would be more impressive if the songs were originals but it’s mainly covers of the best motown and blues songs. Otis has an astounding voice and was able to make each of these songs really entertaining on his own. Overall it’s good but lacks originality. 7.1/10

This is a fun exciting album that makes you want to dance. Forget that it’s in Spanish the instrumentals say their own words that have a rhythm all their own. This is some great big band Latino stuff. Most foreign albums have been a miss but this was enjoyed and this is some great music to throw on while focusing on other things. 6.3/10

An overall unexciting and boring album. I couldn’t find much of this that was worth noting throughout. It seemed like a glob of British made by a band with a gun to their head in the studio. Overall it’s not worth a relisten. 3.6/10

This was alright as far as 80s alternative goes. This felt dated and its sound was mostly a wide array of instrumentals and clamoring behind bjorks singing. Obviously the singing is decent but it seemed too clustered while listening. Not worth revisiting. 4.5/10

An okay mellow album by David crosby. Overall it seemed to be a bit bland and condensed. His talents are definitely better used in the group aspect he was a part of. The songs on this felt like they were all aiming for the same goal but fell short of something really enjoyable. It felt better as background music for an older generation. 5.4/10

A classic album of songs that are often revered as some soft rock classics from the early 70s. The carpenters combine a soft melodic voice with instrumentals that are simple yet distinctively impressive. Some of the songs are quite popular from over the years in pop culture. I enjoy the carpenters and find the soft pop style enjoyable and distinct to a mood. 6.7/10

It’s nice seeing modern albums on this list but usually only if they are ones that are representative of good music that people my generation enjoy. This is another album that falls short of other albums in its era that isn’t as good as similar artists/styles. It seemed like this duo could’ve done better with a stronger sound on the production. The songs felt flat and unexciting. 4.1/10

An early 90s alternative album that has the sounds of shoegaze and feels like something a little more modern. Overall I thought it was okay and enjoyed the simplicity of most of the album. The instrumentals and beats were relatively the same in tempo and didn’t overload the songs. The singer has a good voice although sometimes hard to understand. There were a few songs worth revisiting. 6.0/10

This is a solid electronic alternative/indie album. The flaming lips always have a unique personality and Perspective and it shows in their music. Yoshimi is a great song. Do you realize is depressing yet inspiring. Much of the rest of the album is pretty low key with solid electronic and instrumental sounds. Overall this is a good transition album into the 2000s. 8.1/10

George Jones is an artist that knows how to make some of the saddest country songs. He has a good ability to make you feel relaxed and then hit you with the problems that life brings. His songs are short and concise. He made country music for everyone and country music how it should be made. This was a decent album, wanted it to be longer but still good. 6.9/10 (nice)

A classic in British alt rock music. The first album by oasis is nothing short of outstanding and a way to put a band on the map. Probably their second best album behind morning glory. This one has some solid catchy songs. It’s a shame the brothers couldn’t get along because they made great music together. Overall this is a relisten and super enjoyable for anyone that was young in the 90s and 00s. 8.3/10

A relatively uninspiring album. Felt like it didn’t know if it wanted to be alt rock or grunge. Either way the music felt a bit generic and lackluster. Not the worst thing I’ve listened to but didn’t enjoy it much. Could’ve used some editing. 4.7/10

Just had a good oasis album now I get the best oasis album. Morning Glory is one of the best 90s albums. Almost every song is well made and fun to listen to. It’s impossible not to at least nod along to wonderwall. It’s a bit poppy but it’s so well written. This album has my favorite oasis song, don’t look back in anger. There is a lot going right on this album. 8.8/10

This was a pretty poor album. It felt like it was made in a garage with good equipment. The lyrics seemed like they were written by a teenager, but not one with artistic ability. I could not find much if anything about this album that I’d revisit. Usually I can tolerate most albums with a normal structure but this was pushing it. 2.9/10

This is a solid album by the national. I keep going back and forth on if this is their best album or not. Either way it’s enjoyed and there are several songs on here I could relisten to often. He singer has such a unique singing style that when in the mood makes them very enjoyable to listen to. The instrumentals aren’t anything barrier breaking but the band is one of the better alt rock bands of the past few decades and this is one of their better albums. 7.9/10

A pretty oddball album by Can. Which is an equally dumb numb for a band. I just couldn’t find the good parts of this album. It was hard to listen to and harder to understand. Wasn’t the worst thing on this list but it won’t be revisited anytime soon. 3.4/10

One of the few albums that I instantly knew wouldn’t be good. Was waiting for done lyrics to give this album a purpose and it never arrived. This is an electronic document that is incredibly lame and annoying. Huge pass. 1.7/10

Would not ever consider this Brit pop but apparently that’s what it is and that they were one of the better Brit pop bands. This felt longer than it was. The album had a good variation in style and sound and there were a few songs that were a bit poppy and entertaining but it starts off pretty slow and the low points are pretty rough. Overall this isn’t worth revisiting much but it is okay. 5.3/10

What an incredibly hard to listen to album. Felt like this was a group of people just playing instruments at the same time and calling it experimental psychedelic music. The 60a were a weird time and this band encapsulated it. This wasn’t good and actually had to skip some of it. 1.9/10

This is a ludicrous album. Not really saying it’s bad but it’s weird. It’s goofy and for the 60s this seemed unlike a lot of the pop love songs. This is music about nothing really. It’s the Seinfeld of music. Except this isn’t as enjoyable and also German. The cuckoo song really gives that away but it’s also pretty annoying. Overall the uniqueness does not make up for how annoying some songs are. 4.6/10

This is like jam band music for the 60s. And what’s with every jam band having some sort of fish involved with them. This was okay. It had some good 60s rock sounds and continued into different paths of psychedelic and harder rock. The biggest problem was how long some of the songs were where there wasn’t much substance. It seems like a good precursor to a lot of music but not something I’d revisit a ton. 6.1/10

The flying burrito brothers are a band that gives off supernatural Hispanic vibes. Yet the music is a softer rock with country twang and instrumentals. This album is decent. It has a good genre blend while still sounding nice. The songs aren’t the most impressive but it has a niche that is worth filling sometimes a la burrito style. 6.4/10

It was hard to tell if this was actually live. It sounded not as sharp as studio sound but that may just be how the singer is. The instrumentals were decent and had some unique stuff but it was mostly rock/punk throughout. Not the worst album in this list but not worth revisiting. 4.5/10

Paul Simon and art Garfunkel knew how to make music. This is definitely their best album. It’s full of solid songs and hits that will always inspire people. The songs bend through the genres and it’s done seamlessly. Simon has always had a world view of music and been able to make it popular. Garfunkel helped make this duo one of the best ever. This is a great album but not a personal favorite so it gets dropped down a little. 8.5/10

Interesting to find out this is the Nico from the velvet underground album. This album was exceptionally boring and dragged. These ten songs were all pretty similar with the string instrumentals and slow singing style. The instrumentals were pretty well done but the singer just put me to sleep. 3.8/10

This was a decent album and had pixies best song with where is my minds. Enjoyed Doolittle and this one pretty much equally. Feel like Pixies were a good band that I missed out on due to being shut before my time and having bands come after them that are more refined and my style. All in all this is a good album and I’d relisten to it. 7.3/10

A rock band that disappoints isn’t too common for me but this is what happens when you have an album consist of mainly just one song. The same guitar riffs the same beat. It just continued. How many times can someone ask who do you love. I don’t quite get why this album is on this list. This was repetitive and not worth a listen. 3.2/10

Glad Elvis could come back. Really missed the guy. Elvis was better at making great songs than great albums. I’d say this one is no different as there were multiple songs that are good. The album just doesn’t have a consistent feel. Elvis hits all of his styles in this and it’s an enjoyable album. Hard to go against the king but this was 3 star stuff. 7.7/10

This was surprisingly decent for not understanding a word of what was said. This had more Caribbean vibes than African but I found it to be decent background music. It’s hard to rate something accurately when you don’t know what is being said but the instrumentals were enjoyable. 4.0/10

It’s an alright album of instrumental experimentation with decent singer songwriting ability. Interesting that it’s Jeff Buckley a father but it makes sense. Tim has plenty of talent and this album is well made but it’s just a tad boring. The songs are long and longer but Tim does what he likes and sings a Happy Sad combination of songs. 5.4/10

A pretty average album overall. felt like the smiths but slightly different. It’s not really great but for when it came out it seemed to fit the bill of pretty popular music. I liked the sound and the lead singer was very similar to morrissey. Not sure if I’d revisit it but it was a decent listen. 6.1/10

This is an odd album. It seems like if Norah Jones was a bit more experimental and less poppy and catchy. The songs are very 90s Esque with the style and melody. Overall it never really got me excited but there were a couple songs that were more enjoyable than others. It definitely feels dated and doesn’t give me much to want to revisit. 5.3/10

Another solid steely Dan album. Rikki don’t lose that number is a classic and one of their best songs. Pretzel Logic is a cover to cover enjoyable album with nice jazz and classic rocks components with a poppy lyricism that makes each song special. Overall it’s probably number 2 or 3 for me of steely Dan albums. Looking at past ratings I definitely would put this right there with them as a definite 4 with lots of replay value. 8.4/10

This is a fun beck album with songs I’m familiar with. Epro and girl are some older hits from my youth. The whole album had a nice mix of Spanish and 80s influences with a modern style that made it fun and refreshing. Beck has always been an interesting guy snd his music show that. This is one worth revisiting and is a fun listen. 7.1/10

A classic song surrounded by many other solid songs on this album. I enjoyed the album as it felt like a reinvention of some classic Motown albums. Aside from the big hit this album has a lot to offer and will be revisited. The vocals are great and it has a nice blend of disco funk. 7.2/10

This was an interesting album. Shocked I’ve never listened to this band before since they’re pretty much in my moderne wheel house of indie and chill. The electronic mix was like taking the 90s club sounds but making it fun and adding lyrics. Which improves it immensely. A lot of 90s club music would be awesome with singing later over similar to this. This was a solid add to the collection and I’d revisit it. Now to listen to the rest of their discography to see how it stacks up. 7.3/10

I felt that this album had a familiar sound but I was unable to recognize who they sounded like. Heir style with the soft singing and electronic beats has a modern style yet also feels like it was dated at the same time. Very melancholy yet upbeat. It was like a more depressed lcd sound system. Overall it was okay but nothing worth revisiting. 4.6/10

A pretty odd and obscure album. Not quite sure why so many albums are in this list and this is definitely one of them. The 80s sound of blah fits here but it’s the random instrumentals that make this so rough to listen to. Not sure if I ever even want to revisit this. There’s just no point to. There are significantly better albums yet this isn’t the worst in this list. 4.1/10

This was probably a top 10 instrumental album I’ve ever listened to. This was captivating right from the start as the Apache sound was so familiar. And then it hit me. Jump on it. A lot of great instrumental tracks that were used by hip hop on this album. The most surprising was the roots sample that was used. An absolutely great beat. Overall this was fun to listen to and I’d revisit. 7.0/10

This was an okay album. It didn’t seem that bad live since this came out in the 50s and people actually had to know how to sing then. Vaughan is a good singer and it shows on this album but this is a bit dated. Feels like a song grandparents would reminisce on. It’s rather short and listened to it twice but it’s hardly worth revisiting. 4.6/10

Sheryl crow has made some fun songs over her career. I thought this album was going to be more upbeat but it had a lot of slower melancholy songs. All I wanna do is the big hit here and it’s still good today. I’d say her album overall was lacking from my expectations. It wasn’t bad I just never listened to a full album of hers and this was just alright. Some decent options to come back to but nothing splendid. 6.2/10

This was pretty similar to the other talking heads album but with significantly less catchy songs. Overall it was still good and I enjoyed it. It has a decent 80s precursor for the sound that came during that decade without t being gimmicky. Overall I wouldn’t revisit this album as much as the one that came before it. 6.5/10

Another album on the list of “why is this on here” Holy shit was this album hard to get through. the cramps, what a name, had such great songwriting ability they created a song called in cramped. And that’s all they say the whole song. That alone should tell you how good this album is. Felt like I was listening to a bunch of crack heads with mascara. This was bad. 2.6/10

This is another album added to the evert confusing list of how is this must listen to music. Much of this was hard to understand as the instrumentals took over most of the sound. It was a little weird and overall not that enjoyable. It bewilders me the choices of albums on this list yet here we are. Not gonna revisit this one. 3.9/10

This was a 2000s album and I never really heard the whole thing before. I’ve heard the popular songs and that alone never really made me interested in Christina Aguilera. I always thought she was ironic how much of a hoe she acted but her songs are for fat girls. Either way this album wasn’t horrible in comparison to the rest of this list. I wouldn’t revisit it but it was ok. 5.8/10

This was a decent jazz album. Pretty short but still able to seem entertaining and enjoyable. I recognized one cover one this album but none of the other songs. The jazz keyboard was easy to chill to and it was nice background noise. Not too sure how technically impressive this was but it seemed like old school jazz mixed with funky disco. Wouldn’t revisit this often but potentially. 6.1/10

This is the perfect psychedelic rock album. Jimi hendrix is one of the best guitarists ever and his albums weren’t just guitar fluff. They provided interesting songs, introspective lyrics, a good jam and all around a spectacular album. Hendrix had years of talent still to go before it was taken away but what he gave us was some of rocks best and most long lasting music. It’s hard to say which album is better but both are top tier rock albums. 8.7/10

When art is so confusing only a few people enjoy it then it’s hard to consider it special. You shouldn’t have to be a jazz or music scholar to understand what is going on here but it seems that way. The free jazz composition of playing impromptu may work with one person playing at a time but when multiple people with the same instrument do it then it sounds like this chaotic mess that it is. Call it what you want but enjoyable is not one of those words. 1.7/10

A solid modern album from grizzly bear. This album has one of the most used songs in recent movies with one week. It is a great song and the rest of the album has trouble following it. Overall it’s decent modern indie music and overall it’s better than most of this list. Overall aside from one week the replay value isn’t too high but it’s a good album especially for 09 where it felt not too many bands were making this kind of indie music. 6.7/10

As far as live albums go this wasn’t too bad. It had a lot of his great songs together which is nice. He also solo’d on the harmonica like he was convincing people the harmonica was as cool as the guitar. Overall this album just doesn’t have the same stereo recorded sound that makes music so crisp sometimes. The live experiences heard after the fact never impressed me. Overall this is a decent album with the songs but the recorded versions are better. 6.4/10

Karma chameleon that’s it. That’s the whole album. Everything else is lame 80s pop that sounds like it could’ve been played before an AIDS event. This is another album that goes into the list of questionable albums on this list. Not the worst album but one song doesn't make this album. 4.9/10

Quite amazing that this band has now 5 albums on this list. Hopefully it’s the last. Their music may be great to some people but overall it’s not appealing to me. The curator of this list however must love this band. I would like to know what makes them so worthy of 5 albums. This album was okay. Somewhere in the mix of their others but nothing I’d revisit. 4.3/10

This is a hardcore punk album in that it is political, it’s obscene, and it makes you angry. First time I listened to this I didn’t love it but having it come up on this list I listened to it a little more and it’s pretty decent. I didn’t grow up when punk was popular so some of the appeal is missed on me but some of these songs do rock hard. Some were familiar from guitar hero. Yikes. Overall though this is solid and I’d revisit maybe. 6.2/10

The first song on this album was not that impressive and I thought it was going to be a lame older album. But then there’s do you love me. A good hot back from the day. But then there’s have love will travel and the blues rock crushes it. That’s one of my favorite black keys song and this original version was awesome to hear. The album was solid. A good rock album and plenty fun to listen to. 7.2/10

This was a bit too weird for me. The autobahn song was so repetitive I was starting to lose my sanity. And the fact it was 20 minutes long is absurd. The rest of the album would’ve been good music for a futuristic movie but to listen to and enjoy was far off. Overall this is one that isn’t great to me. I can see how some bands may have been influenced but that’s not gonna cut it here. 2.5/10

This was a decent album. Definitely had some post grunge style to it but also some early 2000s alternative. The comparison to nirvana is kinda comical as they are much more a standard alt rock band. Nirvana is one of the greats bands of all time. I haven’t even heard of these guys until today so that should some their cultural importance. But overall it was good. Nothing amazing. 6.5/10

This was a bewildering album. The first half was slow, instrumental, weird and not much of an older rock album. The second half of the album was much more typical classic rock that was enjoyable. The range of instrumentals on some songs were very cool. But it took so long to get to the enjoyable part of the album. Very curious the thinking behind the A and B sides. Overall the latter half of the album redeemed it and made it okay. 6.1/10

This is a staple of 90s alternative. There are so many good songs on this album and given how long it is, it’s be impossible not to have some good ones. There are several that have been thoroughly listened to by me for years. The only downside of this album is its length. But other than that it’s an album that just sounds reminiscent at times. It sounds angry it has so many emotional pulls in it and it’s splendid. 8.0/10

A dark crooning album mainly because the lead singer had such a distinct deep voice. I never listened to Joy Division until recently and found their music to be hauntingly nice. The band was short lived and this album is known for being great. Shadow play was a song by the killers I always liked and found this version equally great. I find it good and the instrumentals are solid. This is a stronger version of the band than New Order. Overall this is solid and will get replays. 7.8/10

This is a modern classic type album from the white stripes. Jack white is a Detroit et which makes him a little bit cooler too. You can’t go to one sporting event without hearing seven nation army. A song that will be heard for years. This whole album is solid too. Jack and Meg white had a good hold on alt music in the early 2000s and for good reason. They rocked hard. This is a good album. 7.8/10

It’s Britney bitch. Kind of weird to see this making the list but alright. The first couple songs are pretty standard pop hits that covered the early 00s. Everything else on this album was some pretty bad generic pop that seemed made in a lab to get as many listens as possible. The featured and R&B cohesion was a big miss on this album and out of place. This was only worth listening to the beginning and that’s it. 4.6/10

This is a darker album than unknown pleasures. You could get a sense of where new wave got a lot of their style from off this album as it contained a bit of a more 80s synthesizer into it. Overall this isn’t as good as unknown pleasures but it’s still decent. Having Curtis kept the band in check with a cooler less poppy style. 7.3/10

A great album by abba. This album has it all as far as pop records go. This is my wife’s favorite band so I’m sure she’d give this a 5. As much as I enjoy dancing queen I can’t let one song control the whole review. Luckily the production on this album is superb. The instrumentals vary and sound great. There are several songs on this that have replay value. 7.8/10

This was some excellent background music. But is that an accomplishment that the guy made an album that could be in a David fincher movie. Overall this was very bland but as good as bland could get. I didn’t hate it but can’t find myself listening to it again unless I hear it in the airport as my life slowly passes. 3.6/10

Another one of Lou reeds led velvet underground album that was really well done. This one is a bit less experimental and dark as their self titled album. I feel this one has some of their best songs though. Pale blue eyes is so simple and yet so good. Sometimes music that is simple is easier to enjoy the instrumentals and lyrics. Velvet underground is a solid band and this album may be my favorite of theirs. 7.9/10

This was an okay Bowie album which is still significantly better than most albums on this list. The first half was pretty solid. The second half however got a bit odd and very instrumental based. I’d say that the Berlin trilogy is not my favorite style of Bowie records but this was okay. The instrumentals had a real sense of dread and spacey sound to them. Slight replay value here. 6.3/10

This is like if you modernized David Bowie music but then took away the musical talent to perform the songs. Not too sure what appeal this has overall except maybe that it’s British and kind of has similar qualities to 70s glam pop. This is pretty poorly executed and not too enjoyable to listen to. Not gonna revisit 4.6/10

This was a nice country album by possibly the best country artist turned actor. Yoakam has a pretty distinct style of great enunciation and simplistic lyrics that create nice sounding songs. His instrumentals are pretty basic with a more classic guitar style. The combination of the two provides a quick easy listening country album that can be played many times. 7.5/10

An absolutely crucial album for music history. You’re my best friend is a great fun positive song that people will listen to for years. Love of my life is a nicely written ballad. The rest of the album has that operatic tone that rises and lowers in drama and entertainment. And then there’s bohemian rhapsody, possibly one of the best songs ever written. Some will say it’s overrated or overplayed but find another song that long people love to sing together. That’s why Queen and Freddie Mercury were so great. Their music brought people together. 8.5/10

The Led Zep that started it all. This is an amazing first album. I think if you listened to this first and knew they would make better albums you wouldn’t be able to believe it because this is a very solid album. Super late 60s and they’re jamming hard rock to what some say is early metal. Whatever you call it l, it’s awesome and it rocks. This isn’t their best album though so in the grand scheme of things it does get dropped a little bit. Probably ranked right there with physical graffiti but for vastly different reasons. This album was hard rock and to the point. 8.2/10

This was an album that seemed familiar but once I listened to it seemed very dislike what I thought. A 90s alternative album is usually right up my alley but this was like if a country writer wanted to make rock music. It wasn’t very good and the one song I did know couldn’t save this album. Was pretty surprised how much I disliked this one. 5.4/10

A very good country album that was pot outlaw but before the pop country. This is a good level of country music and rock sound that makes it enjoyable and still gives it a humble sound. More country albums should have been like this but instead they just aim to make money. A shame because this is quality. Would relisten but overall this isn’t anything groundbreaking just good. 6.8/10

This is just an album I can’t really understand and it falls short on my musical knowledge. It sounded fine but this is in a category of music that I have little knowledge of and don’t really enjoy. Not gonna revisit this one. 2.0/10

This was pretty much everything about the 90s that kind of sucked and is now laughable. This was some Disney produced funky love music that doesn’t deserve this much praise. Besides the most comical album cover this album was just bland and your typical everything’s alright stuff but with a dated 90s sound. Delighted to be done. 4.2/10

My first thought when I got this Coldplay album was another shit pop album. But as I listened to it I realized that Coldplay received a lot of unnecessary most likely from their later blander pop music. This was to me a pretty solid album. The instrumentals are unique but reminiscent of some typical British pop rock with more niche instruments. Chris Martin is a good singer whether people want to admit that or not. Yellow is a modern day classic song although it is 23 years old now. Overall this was a good album and does show first albums sometimes are a bands best. This album surprised me and I would listen to most of it again. 7.3/10

This was an interesting album. The music itself was just okay and never really excited me. The sun over of people speaking was interesting as I’ve mainly only heard it like that in rap music, specifically madvillany. This wasn’t anything too impressive but I never felt the need to skip any songs which is a plus. Overall I doubt I’d revisit it but it was interesting to hear a few times. 4.1/10

I had a difficult time enjoying this album as it just felt like poppy background music to a positive movie. Dream pop is an interesting genre to me and I’ve had a hard time enjoying it. This album isn’t much different. 3.0/10

This was a decent folk album with some really enjoyable songs and some somewhat annoying songs. Overall having Wilco as a part of this made the folky parts a bit mellowed out and felt more alternative. This was a good casual album to listen to. Bragg and Wilco meld together to make a simple yet enjoyable album. 6.5/10

My first album on this list was a RHCP album and shortly after that was an offspring album. Knowing what I do now and what comprises most of this list I will say I underrated both album. This is the RHCP redemption album. In this list and in their actual discography. Californication is a much more chill/poppy album that still delivers hits and deeper cuts. I enjoyed this album quite a bit and would revisit most of the songs. RHCP weren’t as cool in the 00s as they were in the 90s but I feel they are still a solid band that have made some memorable and important music over the years. 7.2/10

This was quite the curveball with the album artwork and Apple Music calling this pop. This was poppy but the closest pop album to country music prior to 2000. Overall I thought it was okay. She’s a good singer and the songs weee enjoyable but there wasn’t anything too memorable on this album. After a few listens it kind of melded together. 4.5/10

This was a relatively unique album. It’s hard to say if I liked it but it was interesting. This is best described as an alternative hip hop album but it felt kind of childish. Pharrell is hit and miss with me. Some of his stuff is good some is just bad. He clearly likes music and doing new things but I had a hard time enjoying this one. It felt like hip hop but for teenagers. 5.8/10

This was a great rock album. Rush definitely has some of the best instrumentals that get you excited to hear some music. This album has some nice hits as well as this is probably their most commercial album. This has a little less prog rock and more just classic hard rock. Overall it was great and will definitely revisit. 8.0/10

This was a cool hip hop album that differed entirely from what became popular in the 90s. These guys are almost entirely clean, funny, and witty. Their lyrics and stories are comical and yet they have the ability to make clever rhymes. The drawback on this album are the skits and some of the songs are less entertaining. There are a few songs that are great that would be replayed. For 23 songs this album did move pretty quickly too. 6.7/10

This was a unique album. It was very poppy and I didn’t realize until a bout the third song that the guy was speaking a different language. The catchiness of the songs made me just go along. Overall it wasn’t that bad for me not being able to understand some. It was catchy and there is some replay value. 6.1/10

This album seemed a bit better and more cohesive than the previous primal scream album. This is a poorly named band as well. Really gives the impression that the music would be different. This album had good instrumentals and the songs felt like an earlier Spoon. Overall it was okay and had replay value. 6.0/10

I thought this was a pretty good album especially for how old it is. It’s a shame this had to be listened to on YouTube because I would have added this to my music for future listens. Overall this was a good mix of early psych rock and some bluesy sounds. The instrumentals were consistent and good. The songs were relatively short but provided good rhythm and pace. 6.9/10 (nice)

This felt like typical big band music that could have been played throughout many years over many circumstances. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it, I’d say it just comes down to preference on how much a person likes big band jazz and how knowledgeable they are about the nuances. For me it was good but nothing I’d revisit. 6.2/10

Not sure if this was the same album Apple provided as apples version was 2.5 hours. Either way the first portion of the album which I assume is the right one was very old school folky with a country influence. This is pretty much just Fred Neil singing and causally Playing the guitar. This is like my last album with the big band music. It’s good and isn’t bad to listen but unless you really like this genre it’s unlikely you’ll want to revisit this one. 6.1/10

A pretty tame and uneventful reggae album. This must be on the list due to its political nature. Not sure how that’s going to make these songs was boring. They weren’t terrible I just expected more from the red red wine boys. Not much to revisit here. 4.4/10

This album seems to have the ability to sound pretty decent without ever making me want to listen to more of it. This album has a calmer 90s alt style with some jam intersections but overall it just doesn’t work for me. Maybe it’s that there are significantly better similar sounding bands than them. Not bad but not great. 5.3/10

This was a massive improvement from the other yeah yeah yeahs album. Actual singing and rhythmic indie music is Much more enjoyable. Heads will roll was a pretty decent pop song and have heard it before. This album has more Replay value than the other album but overall it’s barely decent and nothing spectacular. 5.3/10

The main song on this album is why I know of dusty Springfield. Never would have thought she was an English singer based on the soul aspect. This is the second album I’ve had of hers and felt like her music is good old school pop soul. It is worth revisiting and son of a preacher man will always have that pulp fiction memory. 6.6/10

This was some very stereotypical 90s love making R&B which is to say it isn’t terrible but it is a factor of its time. The smooth and slow instrumentals make this a pretty chill album overall and the singing is decent most of the time. It’s not bad but there isn’t anything too special about this album except that it executed in 90s R&B. 5.9/10

Lenny kravitz sure is a unique guy. This album was basically 1970s peace and love album with a 90s alternative guitar carrying much of the instrumentals. This isn’t a terrible album but man he wasn’t very good at singing when he first got started. The songs weren’t too exciting but they were okay. Probably would just let this one fly away. 6.1/10

A very creative album name for this band. This was a lot like typical 70s classic rock sound but I guess since it came out in 68 they were a bit ahead of their time with the sound. It was good but nothing really noteworthy. The songs were unwise and sometimes weird but they lacked a melodic element that a lot of 70s classic rock had that made it popular. It was decent but not amazing. 6.4/10

This isn’t as good as some other beck albums but he does do a good job of making some amazingly unique music. This is some funky alternative with an array of sounds. Most of the songs are still catchy and enjoyable. This album is good but not near his best. 6.5/10

Early Clapton and some heavy psychedelic rock. More rock than psychedelic but this is a pretty solid album with one of the most known guitar riffs with sunshine of your love. This was an easy album to listen to several times through and the balance between psych and rock was what made it fun and unique. 7.3/10

This was not the most exciting album I’ve listened to. This was actually a pretty bad album. I did not enjoy this album much. This lady sounded like she had a cold the whole time meanwhile making long songs that could’ve been shortened in half. Not sure who this appeals to or why it’s on this list but it’s not for me. 2.5/10

A pretty uninspiring Brit pop album that felt like they got the guy with the worst accent to sing some of these inaudible songs. Overall it wasn’t terrible as I somewhat like the sound but compared to other Brit pop in the 90s this wasn’t that good. Still better than a lot of this list though. 5.9/10

This was decent pop soul music that didn’t really make that much of an impact on me. Overall the singing was good at times but also pretty bad. This is a genre of music that may have fit the 80s a bit better than hearing it now. Overall it wasn’t for me but I can see how some people like it. Not sure if this was really an album I needed to hear. 4.3/10

This was a good 90s rap album. The title track is pretty well known for making ll cool j a huge hit. Much of the rest of the album is a combination of decent lyricism and situational stories. Overall it was good but the early 90s rap style is a bit dated lyrically with the hard enunciation of raps. Milky cereal is an example of a good song yet pretty corny. I’d listen to some of it again but some is a bit old. 6.6/10

This was better than I expected by a rapper from Massachusetts. Overall it felt like a step below the linkin park verses by Mike shinoda. Overall the beats were pretty good and the lyricism was better than I thought. Not nearly as good overall as the ll cool j album I just had but this was a decent album. 6.3/10

This was an average album to me. Felt Like a mix of Steve Winwood and REM. Overall it had some decent songs that were easy going and wouldn’t be bad to hear again. Not sure if I’ll seek it out since it felt kind of bland but its execution of simple soft alternative is well done. Doesn’t have the hits like its other album but it’s alright. 6.1/10

I like the who and many songs by them but this whole album I really only enjoyed one maybe two songs. The whole album felt like a gimmick and not as if they were trying to create good music. I’m sure in the 60s this may have had a different impact but to hear it now seems like a joke not making sense. This was still an early who album and could tell there wasn’t the hard rock sound in some parts as they were probably trying to keep up with the Stones and Beatles. Overall it’s average. 6.3/10

I love pink Floyd and enjoy most of their discography. This one, their debut, is not as enjoyable as their later albums. Some artists their debut is their best, others get better with time. Pink Floyd got significantly better with time. The psychedelic experimental sound exists in this one but it’s a little convoluted. Overall it’s okay and still decent but not as good as it could be. 6.5/10

Sounded cool but couldn’t understand any of it. Does that mean I’m not cultured enough? No, it’s the list that is wrong. Overall it’s an album I have now heard and am okay with it staying at that. 2.2/10

Not as good as elephant and not as strong of an album overall. It starts out strong for the first few songs and then starts to dip and never really recovers. Their sound is good when it includes more upbeat drums. The slower songs don’t show their strengths as much. Good album but not fear. 6.6/10

This was a nice jazz and funk album by War. Overall I’d listen to it again. A little different from some of their more popular hits as this one felt a little darker and more personal. The album only had a handful of songs but they were all pretty decent. 6.6/10

This was a great modern pop country album. Overall I don’t love a lot of the modern commercial country music but musgraves did a fantastic job of bridge by country sound with melancholy pop. The lyricism and singing make this an enjoyable album that can be heard many times. I feel like years down the road people will still like this album. 7.8/10

Not too sure why this one needed to make the list as their other more popular album was a bit better. This one sounded pretty similar with the Irish influence on it structure and singing. Some songs were catchy and worth listening again but the album overall isn’t that strong and feels like dated pop rock. 5.7/10

To say this was a better blues album than sticky fingers may be slightly accurate but for it to be a better overall album is incredibly false. This was a good album and it was a bit more blues rock than the stones were once they started making bigger hits. But the stones are significantly better. This album was enjoyable and for a US band they did a good job at having a popular 60s rock sound. Overall I’d revisit it as it’s a fresher classic rock sound. 7.0/10

This was a modern folksy record that didn’t seem to be that important. Add it to the list of how is this album on here. The style was a more poppy Tom waits without the raspiness. The instrumentals were simple and mostly boring. Overall this album is decent sound but it’s not a good album to listen to. 4.6/10

This was some Brit pop rubbish if I’ve ever heard it. The songs were so jumbled in sound and lacked cohesion. This sounded like a boy band trying to be oasis. It wasn’t very good however in comparison to many albums on this list it’s still okay but would not revisit it. 4.0/10

A very generic oldies pop sounding album. This came out in 60 which I feel was the tail end of this kind of pop music. It wasn’t bad but overall it’s just really dated. There are a few songs I’d revisit but overall it’s a product of its time and doesn’t hold up too well. 5.5/10

There is so much talent in the Jackson family. However having talent doesn’t mean you’ll make a great album. Janet seems to have followed the pop structure of Michael but without any of the excitement that makes his music so enjoyable. This wasn’t really a chore to get through as it’s upbeat and poppy but none of the songs had me feeling intrigued. It felt like a spin-off of a Michael Jackson album that flopped. Nothing to revisit here. 5.0/10

This was one album where the live versions didn’t fail to exceed the studio versions. Overall Janis Joplin had a sensational voice and sounded great however it was recorded. This album was 60s rock with a mix of psychedelic and lo-if sounds. This was counterculture enveloped in an album. Overall very solid. 6.9.10 (nice)

Not as good as electric warrior but still a good sounding classic rock album that has some variety in the songs. A couple songs sounded similar to the black keys with heavy blues sound. Some other were a bit more poppy. And there were some that were more guitar and rock. This is a good way to compose an album. Would revisit this one. 6.7/10

Don’t know who they’re pulling one over by not having their music available. Listening to this was not that great. It’s like having that weird uncle be in a band from the 80s. The folky songs were rather sad and depressing. It wasn’t upbeat enough to be classic rock. It was in limbo of both and wasn’t that great. 4.8/10

What an edgy band name. This album was pretty much known for the couple popular songs on it but other than that it’s a lot of pop punk material that misses. A weird blend of genres that only the 90s could produce. 4.6/10

Really don’t think this many punk albums are worth listening to. This one included. Not too sure the major appeal to this one other than it led the post-punk genre. Whoopee. This was some tough stuff to listen to. The only good thing about it was the instrumentals on a few tracks. Other than that it was pretty boring to me. 2.7/10

Never really listened to much Bjork. Overall it’s really nothing too appealing to me. The production is pretty good and some of the instrumentals were well done. It doesn’t save the rest of the album of bjorks repetitive lyrics and pretty boring singing style. Overall there’s nothing here for me to revisit. 5.1/10

As of now it has been 7 years since Radiohead released an album. They may be done forever. Therefore the lesser known or not as popular albums are always worth revisiting. I’m glad I got this album. I’ve always had it pretty lowly ranked but after listening to this maybe 5 or 6 times, I have enjoyed it significantly more. It has the electronic sound Kid A does through many of the songs but this time they are styled differently. There’s are songs with more guitar and heavier rock sounds. There’s one that’s more fluid and almost jazz like. The singing style of yorke is more like the later albums. Hail to the thief is underrated for a Radiohead album. It’s definitely not their best but to me it has climbed the rankings. 8.4/10

The doctor is in and out of this world. What finesse this album has when it comes to lyrical structure. This may not be everyone’s favorite album but I was thoroughly impressed with it. The production is great, ahead of its time with the trip hop and weird sound overs. The lyrics are quick witty funny and odd. Everything you want out of an octagonacologyst. This was like madvilliany if it had a father or something like that. 7.1/10

This was a pretty enjoyable jazz album. Only one song on this album I didn’t like. The jazz was pretty solid from the beginning. Each song was a little different and varied in instrumentals. The trumpet and sax songs were definitely songs I’d listen to again. May revisit this for when I’m in the mood for jazz. 6.4/10

The first solo album from maybe one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. This was a bit ahead of its time with the lo-fi harshly edited songs. Funny that people then didn’t care for it but yet so many artists have created a comparable sound. This is solid work by Paul as there are some catchy well written songs. 6.7/10

A live album consisting of several songs already featured on another album on this list. Definitely seems essential to be on here and not redundant at all. Not sure what criteria was made for this enormous list but this could’ve been left off. Live album of just the most common chords ever played to some prog rock jamming. Meh. 4.3/10

Just recently had a bjork album and it wasn’t that bad. Now my second one and I can wonder is what kind of hallucinogenic trip she went on to make this chanting noise of an album. This was pretty terrible to listen to. No thanks 1.6/10

This is an album I wanted to like more and expected to like more but as I listened throughout it I couldn’t find much to enjoy a lot. It’s rock. It’s grungy. It’s metal but it’s a lot of stuff that isn’t great. The cover of war pigs wasn’t that great and there were only a couple songs I’d revisit. 6.1/10

I never found Elvis Costello’s music to be that exciting. On his debut album he has a few songs that are a bit mainstream and poppy. To me he just plays into the Elvis thing and tries to do a modern hipster twist that falls flat. This album was fine but aside from Allison I won’t listen to the rest much. 5.5/10

What an interesting and diverse jazzy album. The assortment of instruments, noises, sounds, and singing made this album pretty hard to wrap my head around. Overall it wasn’t that great as it was some pretty artsy fartsy stuff that doesn’t appeal to me. Some of the jazz was pretty good though but it was in spurts. Hard to really like this one. 4.7/10

This was an album that feels like it could’ve been made for a play or a movie. Not quite sure the overall appeal of it other than for people who like to feel superior over others. The singing was good from Ute Lemper. The other people singing brought it down a little. Overall there isn’t anything I find worth revisiting here. 3.9/10

A New York punk album that created the style for many bands to follow. Pretty interesting this was such a well like album by many bands. Well before my time and a genre that doesn’t generally appeal to me. This may be liked but to me it wasn’t that exciting. This was harder rock but with too much punk sound for me to really like it. 4.6/10

An alright 90s alternative album. Some of the songs had the style and sound for what could’ve been pretty popular songs however they seemed to lack in catchy lyrics. The instrumentals are very typical for a later 90s alt rock album so they were good at that. The downfall of the album was mostly the singer just being bland. 5.8/10

This is pretty much of jazz and alternative music had a baby. It’s chill groovy sound mixed with modern production. The singing floats between two different sounds. Overall it was simple yet complex. Easy to listen to and pretty good. 6.3/10

This album was really solid. Definitely heard Anita baker before but probably the first time I’ve done a whole album. Her sound is splendid R&B done soulfully and with energy. Several songs on this album you can feel the emotion she has singing. This is good music and one the list got right. Everyone should listen to this. 8.0/10

The world is very lucky that miles Davis was born when jazz was popular because he can play the shit out of music. This is a great ensemble album with Davis leading the way with some really nice horn skills. The man was one of the best and this album is jazz worth listening to. Would definitely revisit this album when I want to hear more jazz. 8.2/10

I didn’t think these guys were that bad. Their most popular song which isn’t in this album had Bowie in it I believe. This album is very similar to that style but dialed back on the Bowie-ness. It may have been a way to get some easy fans back then but now it feels like they were trying to recreate a lot of the sounds of him. Overall though it is alright. There’s some good Brit rock in there and some songs are worth revisiting. 6.3/10

It’s interesting how Nick Cave had had so many albums on this must listen list but yet not one nickelback. I feel like the creator of this list is really missing what makes great music. The terribly sad style and lyrics didn’t make this any of the bit better. Listening to this was unappealing and boring. Just because something is sad doesn’t quite mean it’s good. This seriously made Nickelback seem like the Beatles. Give me a break. 1.8/10

A third my bloody valentine album. Just what we didn’t need. Well this one isn’t as bad as the most recent one but not as good as their best album. That puts this at still not that good. This is music you listen to when you don’t want to focus on the music and maybe do something else. 4.1/10

This is some generic 90s cool white guy stuff. “G. Love” is a ridiculous name and comes with it some really low effort lyrics. He may not be doing anything ground breaking but the combination of his laid back lyrics with the mix of the funky and jazzy instrumentals make this an okay album. It’s chill and laid back with just enough funk. 6.0/10

The British rap drill genre is always interesting to me. The beats and production are always pretty cool but the accents of the rappers make it either very difficult to understand or makes it sound cooler than some typical rap. This album was more of the hard to understand than cool but the production in this was pretty solid. Overall it wasn’t that enjoyable though as it felt very raw and unpolished compared to some other rap albums. 5.5/10
