1001 Albums Summary

Starts funky/ska style. Hits it stride in the middle. “I could have lied” helps the album progress through to their hits. Enjoyable. Longer album that covers several sub genres throughout. EDIT: After completing this list. RHCP was my fist album so I expected this list to be filled with way more albums that I’d like more than this one. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. This was one of the better alt rock albums on the list in general and deserves an update. 8.3/10

Excellent album. The weight is a classic and makes the album automatically a 3/5. The cohesiveness of the album makes it great. Not really any songs worth skipping it’s an easy listen and flows nicely. 7.8/10

Enjoyed more than RHCPs previously rated album but not as artistically good. Although many songs are similar in style the popular hits are great. EDIT: Again, this one needed to be updated. Having RCHP, The Band and The Offspring were such a strong start that didn’t prepare me for what this list held. This is also a fantastic alternative album that I play often. 8.4/10

Excellent album. Short and sweet. Crosses genres with jazz/blues/country. Album starts strong and carries throughout. 8.9/10

Alright album. Nothing special. Long songs that are filled with extended periods of instrumentals. One of the singers voice is slightly higher pitched and can get annoying. 4.7/10

Entertaining 80s pop rock. Title song is excellent but there are other enjoyable songs along the way. Very heavy 80s synth club feel which dates the album but possibly the best of its kind. 6.7

Not my taste in alt rock. Don’t love their big hits and the other songs aren’t any better. Started decent but never picked up. Fireplace is a bad song. 3.8/10

Not my style. Couldn’t get interested in it. Listened twice and both times I got bored by the third song. Apparently critics love it. I don’t get it. 2.4/10

Heavy ballad themed album. Meatloaf combines dramatic opera with rock music. I don’t find it interesting but it’s different. Two out of three ain’t bad is a decent song. Overall it’s just ok. 5.4/10

Bunch of casual beats which is great if you’re in a video game or high given the albums name. Not my type of music. 2/10

Enjoyable album of early hard rock, metal. Prefer this kind of Black Sabbath over their popular hits. A bit more raw. Songs are long and change up a bit which is unique. Slightly above average for me. 7.1/10 EDIT: This is one of the better metal albums ever and one of the better albums on this list. This album deserves its proper credit. 8.6/10

Pretty good album of guitar riffs and classic rock songs. Some of the songs get creative and pull inspiration from other genres. Longer songs that don’t feel too long. 7.8/10

Interesting album. Style is much different. The distortions and inaudible lyrics are unique and sometimes it’s easy to drown into other times it feels useless. A bit too indie for me but it’s definitely creative. Might grow over time but after two attempts it’s ok. 5.5/10

Excellent indie album. Fleet foxes has such a unique sound that is melodic and fluid throughout the whole album. 8.6/10

Songs drag on a majority of the time often reaching over 5 minutes except they just repeat the generic hook. Only a few songs are worthwhile which doesn’t make this Springsteen album much to come back to. 6.4/10

Trent Reznor creates some u inquest music and I’ve always enjoyed their bigger hits. The whole album is pretty good but just short of great. The songs are dark and instrumentals are experimental. 8.3/10

Above average album. Enjoy the beastie boys but this album had several instrumental interludes that didn’t seem necessary. Prefer their first album over this one. 6.6/10

Album starts as a unique indie song that is good. Everything after that is nothing special and a bit too indie for my taste. Overall not really pleased. 2.9/10

Ok album. Blues isn’t my favorite as it seems many of the songs blend together. Mannish boy stood out but everything else was ok. 4.8/10

Nothing special. Soundtrack album that’s mostly funk instrumentals. 2.3/10

Good classic rock album. Early Alice cooper is more tolerable than his stuff in the 80s and later. Maybe not his best but good. 6.5/10

Soulful and deep. A uniquely classic album that shines on its elegance and simplicity. Four Women is a beautiful and moving song. Overall enjoyed more than I expected. 7.7/10

It’s a pop/punk 90s album led by females. I can see how people Like it or how people Could say it’s good, but it is not for me. Sometimes annoying, sometimes Whiny, sometimes good but very seldom. 3.0/10

Great album. Lyrics go a bit deeper and resonate more as a younger adult. Music is catchy and easy to flow with. 8.2/10

Love this album. Digs deep and the music is masterfully done. The album just bangs through and rocks on. 9.3/10

Interesting pop album. First song was ok but everything else was meh and skippable. The jig song was even more questionable. 2.2/10 Edit: I received this album far too early in my list selection. I admit that I rated this far too low and this album deserves respect. Running Up that Hill is phenomenal. The whole album is deserving of recognition. 7.0/10

Alright album. Lyrically it’s above average. Beats are true to the 90s and only a couple songs stand out. Mostly it’s a standard 90s rap album. 6.5/10

Oldie country album that has short songs and simple lyrics which has made Loretta an icon. To me it’s an above average album but I don’t seem myself listening to it a lot. 6.6/10

Lovely oldie pop album. Some of the songs were heard prior but never knew it was Dusty. Enjoyed a majority of the songs and could listen again. 7.4/10

Old British rock album that was rather unappealing. Many of the songs go by without anything exciting happening. 4.1/10

Seeing kid rock in this lists makes me laugh but this album isn’t bad. Has some good hits. Some of the rapping is meh but the style changes makes it good for a wide range of people. 7.5/10

An album that is named aptly. An older album that has old punk style but has instrumentals and the sound of modern alt albums. Better than expected and could see the influences in modern songs. 7.1/10

Interesting album of smooth sounding singers. First three songs were good. Then the quality dipped. Each song is slightly different but some don’t hit. 6.6/10

Below average album. Several songs are just instrumentals. Sound and vision is a good song that stands out but the rest just drones along without much value. 5.1/10

Boring electronic album. A genre of music that just doesn’t interest me. 2.0/10

Bittersweet symphony is a great alt song. Most of the other album is slightly above average and flows well but nothing else really stands out. It’s good. 6.8/10

Always enjoyable finding a classic song that I never knew the artist. Some of the songs on this album are great. (Mambo sun and Bang a Gong) Some songs are ok but lacking that quality to get to the next step. Pretty good album just shy of great. 7.2/10

As an album it’s weird. As a style and based on year it’s ahead of its time but I still don’t like it. 2.6/10

Love album set in Japan. Some of the songs were good but live albums just aren’t as easy to listen to. Doesn’t hit the mark for me. 4.7/10

Another electronic album. Still pretty bored. Although it was somewhat better than the others. 2.9/10

Good classic rock album. Short and could’ve been longer. Enjoyed the hits and some other tracks were still solid. 7.6/10

Ok album. Genesis was better on the 80s when Phil Collins did more of the leg work. This album felt like he was underutilized and they focused more on the instrumentals. 5.9/10

Good album. This one isn’t as good as the other two as it has less hits but it’s still Hendrix and he doesn’t make anything less than average. 7.9/10

Slightly better than the last one but pj Harvey is not for me. 2.5/10

Interesting album. Thought the first song sounded like a Disney villain track. The other songs were pretty good. Enjoyed but might not listen again 6.0/10

Enjoyable calm jazz album. First few songs were the highlights. The second and third takes became a bit stale after a bit. But overall decent. 6.2/10

The third pj Harvey album and still not enjoying them. The mess were in is the best song I’ve heard yet from her only because thom Yorke sings with her. Still not an album for me. 2.6/10

So there’s two versions of this album. Uk and US. US has paint it black which is a classic but it also has the high hat going constantly on high and dry. UK is a little long and ordered differently. Overall it’s a good early stones album where they still have the blues influences but not their best. I’d say both versions are a 7.7/10

Great album from start to finish. Hard to say if there’s even a bad song on it. Many reggae classics on this. Listened many times before and will continue to listen to it. 9.2/10

It’s a pretty generic 60s album. Has its rock and psychedelic moments but there’s nothing that really stands out. It’s a long album and feels like it. Overall it’s meh. 5.1/10

Good Bowie album. Changes is a classic and the rest of the album holds up well. I enjoyed most of it and would listen again. 7.8/10

Decent jazz album with lyrics that improve the instrumentals. Some songs are dated and don’t hit as well but overall it’s ok. 5.6/10

Enjoyed this album more than expected. The first song has a unique start. Arc of a diver is a great song. All of the songs are better than they should be and the instrumentals pair well with winwoods singing style. 7.7/10

The clash is a legendary band of Brit Punk Rock. I feel London calling is a better album but this one was still pretty decent. Nothing truly great but it was a good listen. 7.1/10

For an early 90s rap album Cypress Hill made something unique. Some of the songs are heavily weed based but that’s what they’re known for. The album is good but not as good as Black Sunday. 6.4/10

Janis Joplin is famous for dying before her times. She has a unique voice that doesn’t hold back. Some of the songs on this album are great. Bobby McGee is a classic. Overall it’s pretty good. 6.7/10

Pretty good album by ghostface. The features were solid. Interesting to have the same song on there twice but with different artists. Lyrically it was good but not great. 7.2/10

The album is better as a whole than the songs are by themself. The standout song grounds for divorce is good. The whole album is relatively seamless but it’s pretty good. Nothing exceptional. For a first time listen I enjoyed it. 7.4/10

Queen latifah paved the way for female rappers. Lyrically she’s pretty good but the late 80s rap style is a bit bland in comparison to what’s been made sense. The album has some good moments and a few songs are worth a replay but overall it’s nothing amazing. 6.5/10

Nothing amazing but it was enjoyed at moments. Morrissey is a good singer and that carries the album. A few songs have anecdotal moments but overall the album lacks support and doesn’t hit the spot. 6.1/10

One of the better live albums I’ve heard. The bob seger cover song and combination of songs from multiple albums make it worthwhile. If it wasn’t live it’d be great but overall I still liked it. 7.5/10

Poppy R and B album that is just kinda there. Nothing really stands out besides Mariah’s vocals. 4.9/10

Very Melancholic and the lyrics are vaguely depressing. The tone is relatively the same throughout which is a drawback but the composition and instrumentals are great. 7.9/10

A poppy psychedelic indie album. A unique and creative listen but doesn’t really cut it for me. The instrumentals are there but I never really enjoyed it. 3.8/10

A vocally strong folk album. Some of the songs had a story that was a little dark or depressing which was contrary to Baez’s strong voice. It was enjoyed more than expected. 7.6/10

An ok reggae funk album. Probably would’ve been better without lyrics. The beats are good but the album runs pretty long and gets dull a bit. 4.9/10

Better than the last rem album I had but this one is still not that great to me. Their music seems too outwardly depressing but for no real strong reason. It’s kinda ok. 5.1/10

Not Aerosmith’s most complete album. Between Steven Tyler’s howling and the whammy bar this album left a bit on the table after the first song which was solid. 6.0/10

Solid 80s album that really separates itself from the 70s style. Rio and Hungry Like The Wolf are great songs. The whole album doesn’t have a bad song. 7.8/10

Felt like this album didn’t know what it wanted to be. Some times it had rock styles. Other times it was more jazz. Preferred the jazz songs most but overall it was a weird mix and never felt fluid. 4.3/10

Solid album all around. Best beastie boys album. Probably one of the few rappers/groups that provide humor in their songs. They come out hard and provide rap hits over and over but with rock stylings and rap punk beats. 8.8/10

This album was better than expected. For an instrumental it was very soothing. The music was vivid and it was easy to create imagery while listening. This is a good album for getting away from the complexity of life. 7.4/10

Excellent early rap album. Chuck Ds lyrics and rap style is among the best. The beats are hard and not overly funky like other late 80s early 90s. This album is far more influential than most other rap albums. Not my favorite rap album but it gets a bump for the legacy. 9.0/10

Better story than it is music. Famous concept album But for me not all the songs are that great. It’s definitely better as a whole but only a few songs are enjoyable as standalone pieces. 7.3/10

Such a bizarre electronic album. Continuing to solidify my lack of taste in the genre. Was ready for it to end. 1.7/10

A wonderful album of combined genres that makes this indie album stand out. An Co makes a nice trippy melodic album with this one. Their popular songs are synthy and up beat. I’d say this album is underrated amongst releases of the last 20 years. 7.9/10

Better than expected album from a name I haven’t heard before. It has a 90s feel to it which I like. It’s chill and transitions smoothly. Some songs are a little weird lyrically. 7.4/10

Ice cube is socially and self aware when it comes to rapping. His hardcore style is ok but is lackluster when it comes to a full album. Some of the songs have stood the test of time and are still relevant. Others feel dated. 7.5/10

It’s no what’s goin on but Marvin gayes harmonious singing and the funky jazz instrumentals make this a good listen. A more love/divorce centered album. 7.7/10

The style of country is too melancholy and drawn out with the singing. Not really enjoyed. 3.9/10

A near perfect album of melody, instrumentals, lyrics, and harmony. Van Morrison has a great ability to captivate with his music. This is his most well crafted album. 9.8/10

This early queen album feels like it should be better than how it sounds. Certain aspects of songs still feel a bit raw and not as known as the basic queen songs. This album has a good feel to it but this doesn’t show the true talent of queen. 7.7/10

Solid folk rock album. Their music does stand the test of time and still is unique and enjoyable today. Homeward bound is great. Sometimes Simon and Garfunkel’s music does bore me a little with the soft tones but it’s still a good album. 7.5/10

Enjoyed this album as it was my first time hearing it. The acoustics were well done and lyrically most songs were well made. Feels like an early Tracy Chapman. Would listen to some of the songs again. 7.1/10

It’s like a mix of moby and smash mouth except not a good combination. They have that 90s feel to it but it’s in no way a rap album. Nothing special here. 5.1/10

Deep purple I know from a famous riff. They have plenty of hard riffs but the album doesn’t feel like much more than that. The songs themselves aren’t anything special. 6.3/10

An average album. Nothing really stood out while listening either good or bad. 6.0/10

The album has a juxtaposition with the dark lyrics and melodic instrumentals and chorus’. The chorus’ seem too repetitive. The album has a sense where it’s easy to listen to but it’s hard to enjoy. 5.6/10

A non funky/disco bee gees album full of ballads. A few are ok and the first song is pretty good. However a whole album of ballads just gets old. 5.9/10

A slightly above average rock album. It doesn’t seem to special compared to all the music that has come out since but for a mid 60s album with such big names it has significance. 6.7/10

Electronic album that feels like a 90s European club. 2.1/10

Sounds like it’s pure 80s dance with the synth pop sounds. Not really my style as it’s slightly too poppy and too dance/electronic. I can see how people like it as the style and instrumentals are pretty decent. 5.3/10

This early 00s alternative album has one of the best songs from the 00s with take me out. The rest of the album holds up well. Part of it feels like the strokes. Others like arctic monkeys but not quite as refined. Overall it’s solid. 7.6/10

Vocally Apple is wonderful. The songs are strong and it doesn’t take much instrumentally to assist her as she sings. Delightfully surprised with this. 6.9/10

An all time classic rock album. Not necessarily Zeps best album but this one rocks hard and the solos show their talent. Not much wrong with this one. 8.6/10

This was a better deep purple album than the last one. Lyrically and style was it was much more refined around their guitar riffs that are still solid. Enjoyed this album but it wasn’t great. 6.7/10

Tusk is fleetwoods last real album. It shows the band separating with the different styles throughout. The album feels eclectic but it may be more due to the differences of the members showing through. It’s obviously not their best album but it also isn’t their worst. Would’ve loved to see what could have happened in the 80s as this album had great tunes and they were arguably one of the biggest bands. This is great as Fleetwood always is. As long as Stevie nicks is included. 7.9/10

Pretty solid album. Tom pettys guitar skills is far better than his singing. This album has some hits and some of the other songs aren’t that special. It flows well and started the stardom of Tom petty. Overall it was good. 7.2/10

Never listened to them before and thought this was a pretty entertaining album. The lyrics were pretty deep and at times dark. Sometimes political as well. The instrumentals were solid and had a good 90s rock punk feel but still some British influences too. The backstory on this album is also pretty interesting. Overall it was good. 7.1/10

First time listening to them. Could hear how iggy was an early influence in the pop punk genre. To me these songs didn’t really resonate. Maybe it was just before my time to understand. Pretty neutral here. 5.8/10

Not my favorite Springsteen album but it does show his talents of songwriting and ability to use his voice that makes the songs feel morose and tense. Springsteen always had a way of making his songs Americana but not always in the positive light. This album excels on that. Several songs are wonderful here. Overall it’s grown on me overtime. 7.4/10

A stronger party rock album from Aerosmith. The chorus’ are strong and there’s more variety in the songs. Better than “Rocks”. This had several songs that are worth going back to. 6.7/10

Ok album. Less of an edge than the other MSP album since they lost the main singer and songwriter. Don’t think I’d revisit this one much. 5.4/10

Nothing too special here. Couldn’t find a way to get really into it. The singing is fine, but the songs aren’t really poppy and they’re too dull to be interesting. 4.4/10

Solid rock album for the birth of one of the best alternative rock groups. There are some signs of the nirvana sound before they really hit their stride with the hits. This album was all rock which makes it strong and different from other bands from the 90s. 7.7/10

First time listening and enjoyed it thoroughly. Another album that had songs I’ve heard by never connected the artists. The group does a great job of being cohesive and mixing really well. This album has an excellent folk rock sound that can be replayed. 7.5/10

Probably a be of the best debut albums of all time. Besides the skits there isn’t a bad song on here. A much more humbler time in Kanye’s career. Also one of my top 3 Kanye albums depending on my mood. Could listen to this daily it’s stellar, exciting, fun, rhythmic. It’s just that good. 9.3/10 without skits. 8.7/10 with skits.

Pretty average album. What makes this album unique is most the songs are different stories about people. Musically it feels very generic for the 60s. 5.8/10

As hugely influential as this album was, I have a hard time enjoying it all the way through. Dre’s beats are stellar but cube and rens raps sometimes feel trapped in that 80s style. The hits are great but the second half of the album has me wanting more. 7.4/10

Lyrically these guys aren’t bad but the album drags on. One guys voice is hard to listen to. Overall it’s pretty meh and probably won’t be played much. 5.3/10

Really solid album. Michael Jackson makes pop hits. This album has plenty. It does falter a little and doesn’t round out as well as thriller but it still has great songs. 7.9/10

Not a bad album. Felt like it had a lot of different elements from the 60s in this between the psychedelic/guitar riffs/trippy lyrics. Feel like this was a pretty underrated album. 7.4/10

Excellent rock album. Holds up well and goes by quick. Their hits are great rock anthems. Their lesser known songs are still good. Easy listening album that can replayed all the time. 8.2/10

This album has some great hits but the latter half of the album isn’t anything special. Feels like it attempts to be better than it is. Overall it’s above average though. 6.6/10

A totally different and hard hitting album. The songs here tell stories that resonate. Listening to this album is always an experience. Overall it’s really good. Some songs can get a little dull. 7.8/10

Not really my type of album. The singer songwriter style of the 90s was really hit and miss. A couple songs were ok. The singing is not bad. Just not my stuff. 3.7/10

Pretty interesting alternative album. Felt like it had some Pink Floyd influences on some tracks. Never really felt like any track stood out but it was a pretty easy listen and maybe one I’d revisit. 6.1/10

Old school rap roots that paved the way for a lot of people. In the 80s I’d imagine this was amazing music. To hear it now it seems very rudimentary. I don’t love it but I can respect the talent of what was made. 6.4/10

Pretty meh album. No songs really stood out and at only 30 minutes it still felt like it dragged a bit. The songs feel repetitive and nothing really stood out in quality. 4.7/10

Pretty similar sound to the last album which makes me like both a little less. I still prefer Five Leaves Left but still enjoyed this one as well. This is really easy listening music that has more depth than most. 7.3/10

Didn’t feel like it was anything special. None of the sounds really stood out musically. The sound didn’t differ much throughout and it was hard to find a track that brought me in. 3.9/10

Pretty meh album. Definitely not pop closer to reggae but didn’t feel like it had enough to be something special. Got through it but didn’t feel excited to hear it again. 4.4/10

Pleasantly surprised with this album. Didn’t think it was overall great but it had a nice tone, the singers voice is soothing and sounds wonderful. As for the songs they didn’t impress me but they sounded nice. 5.6/10

Excellent album. James Taylor’s guitar and singing is one of a kind. He takes simple songs and makes them special. Fire and Rain is a classic and this album is great easy listening from beginning to end. 8.3/10

Pretty average punk style album. Some songs had good instrumentals and there were riffs that resembled that of grunge. Other songs had the classic 70s foreign punk style. 5.7/10

Besides the first song, never really hear anything from them. Their rap style isn’t too complex and their rhymes aren’t bad. But their songs feel generic and their beats aren’t anything outstanding. It’s an ok rap album. 5.5/10

One of my favorite albums. In my opinion Pink Floyd’s second best album but my personal favorite. It’s so easy to get lost in the sounds of shine on. Wish you were here is a beautiful song. Have a cigar really rounds out the album, helping it transition from the beginning to the end. Everyone about this album is outstanding. 9.8/10

It wasn’t anything special. Soundtrack album that was mostly instrumentals. The sound was quite interesting and ominous and one song reminded me of a tame impala voice over. But it still wasn’t that great. 3.8/10

Impressed by this album. Didn’t expect much of it going in but hearing chic cheer the song had a good beat and was grooving. Le freak has either been sampled or used in movies it sounded very familiar. The rest of the album was pretty decent and overall better than I expected. 6.5/10

Had a hard time enjoying this one. It felt long and I skipped a few songs. The singer was pretty rough and it felt a little too edgy. 3.1/10

Decent old pop album. The songs are upbeat and fun. Pretty quick easy listening album. Overall I thought it was pretty good. 6.3/10

This album was hard to understand and it felt like it was the far end of the grunge alt spectrum. The instrumentals were good at times and sounded familiar to other alt bands but the lyrics were tough to digest. 3.5/10

A very interesting album. Lou reed never does things the traditional way, which is what made him pretty special. This album probably required more listens than I gave it but what I heard it felt ok. Pretty average. 5.2/10

This was a really nice and wonderful album of some jazz piano. I listened to it a few times and each time it was more enjoyable. The sounds were impressive and the backstory on it makes it even more impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed it 8.0/10

Have zero idea what the appeal to this album was. Didn’t really know how to enjoy it. For me it’s just a big miss. 1.0/10

Decent punk rock album. Felt like it lasted a bit longer. The instrumentals were good and the sounds were familiar to other punk albums. In all it was a pretty average album. 5.7/10

Pretty decent rock album. Felt like this band combined a few elements of hard rock, hair metal, and pop alternative. The album had a lot of diversity it in which was good and bad. Overall it was decent. 6.4/10

This is the type of punk I don’t really care for. It feels whiny and too edgy. Some of the songs were skippable and couldn’t really get into the album. 2.6/10

Joni Mitchell’s lyricism and voice is a talent all it’s own. The album is pretty good and enjoyable to listen to. She does a good job but none of the songs feel like strong hits that stick with you. 6.2/10

Solid hard core metal album. Walk is a classic that hits hard. The album has a good mix of hardcore lyrics and plenty of flowing guitar riffs. Always enjoyed when in the mood. 8.1/10

Pretty solid funk album that has the right mix of funk r&b and experimental stuff going on. The first song is a bit slow but after that it’s significantly better. 7.7/10

Solid two album here. The seed is probably my favorite off this album. Some of the interludes seemed long though. The bets are solid and lyrically black thought does well. The appearances by talib kwali are solid too. 7.6/10

Pretty decent traditional country album. It seemed like ray price had the old traditional lyrics and songwriting but his guitar playing and melodies sounded a bit what the 70s and 80s turned into. I enjoyed it and didn’t find it too old and slow as some country albums are. 6.2/10

Nothing too special here. It seems the importance of this album comes from being a early punk rock album. The album has td moments of angsty lyrics and hard guitar and drum sections. The choruses on a few songs felt a bit annoying and repetitive. The album was short but with 16 songs it felt like rapid change. 4.8/10

Excellent metal album. Definitely their most popular and for good reason. From start to finish this album brings it hard and does metal to the point where it’s enjoyable for a wider audience. This is a must listen and is one of the best metal albums. 8.8/10

Alright album that has a few good songs. Song 2 is well known and a good hit and wish more of the album was like that. Some of the other songs fell flat and felt boring. 5.6/10

Decent album. It starts off good with Victoria. Their sound has a modern feel to it sometimes which shows their ability to influence. It felt like a pretty standard Brit rock album to me. 5.9/10

Knew of smooth operator but never knew the artist. Pretty good album. A few songs were repetitive and slow but it evened out with the first two that were substantially better. It’s a good album that’s a easy listening r&b. 6.0/10

Alright album with one great pop song. The album has a couple covers which doesn’t show originality but Tina Turner is a great talent. It’s a quick fun album but it’s highlight is the famous song. 5.6/10

Another good folk rock album. This one brings in Neil young who is great but I find this album a little bit more preachy and not as strong as CSN. Carry On Helpless and Deja Vu are all good. 6.5/10

This album felt as old as it could. The songs were twangy and the lyrics were pretty simple. The singing was ok. This felt like an album that was popular for its time and hasn’t had much significance since. It’s not bad. Just doesn’t feel relevant anymore. 4.3/10

Solid country album. Usually don’t prefer live albums but given the theme of the album and the setting it does fit. There are times where the live interruptions do take away from the songs. However this album has many classic hits and is classic Cash. 7.7/10

This may be one of the most perfect albums made. Between the theme, lyrics, beats, and hooks it doesn’t get more consistent and monumental than this album. Hill created one solo album and it’s arguably one of the best ever made. Such a shame she didn’t do more but what she provided was nothing short of historically significant. 10/10

Pretty heavy blues centered album. Nothing really bad but sometimes blues songs have similar sounds and don’t differentiate much. This one wasn’t bad but it ran into that same problem. 4.7/10

Solid indie rock album. Possibly one of the staples of the genre. The lyrics are deep and melancholy. The music is upbeat, unique and the sounds of various instruments makes it unique. Jesus etc. is an amazing song. This is a great album. 8.3/10

Pretty rough album that may be the most punk sounding album I’ve heard. The lyrics are messy. The vocals aren’t good. The instrumentals are chaotic. It’s punk but not the kind I like. 2.7/10

This album has a little bit of everything. It’s got a long instrumental track and groovy tune pop hit and an activist song. It’s an alright album. Probably be better without the long instrumental one. 5.8/10

Probably the Beatles most well known album but not necessarily their best. Still great in its own regard. It has 17 songs and still short of an hour. It’s a refined, simply curated album. The Beatles mellowed out with this one compared to yellow sub and magical. The songs flow exceptionally well throughout and makes the album an easy listen and yet there’s still depth to the songs. 8.8/10

This was a band I’ve never heard of but felt like I have before. Their style is unique but also what was done by other bands later in the 90s. At times it felt like radiohead a little bit. This was a good album that was a new experience. 7.3/10

Little Simz has been on fire with her newest album and this one is also solid. Very impressed with the lyricism and the beats. She’s probably one of the better female rappers without being only vulgar as well. 7.4/10

It’s raunchy it’s crude. It’s vulgar. It’s violent. It’s amazing. This album solidified Eminem as one of the best rappers. He’s doesn’t hold back and his rhymes are fantastic. The beats are well done by Dre. This is a classic rap album. 9.0/10

Decent old school rap album. Feels as though this was kind of the middle ground between what tribe made and the original styles of rapping. These guys had rhythm and were very black forward. The African themes are pretty strong here. They also mix it up with some 80s beats and djing. Overall it’s decent. 6.1/10

Probably Aerosmith’s best album yet still not an album that I thoroughly enjoy. Walk this way and sweet emotion are some of their best songs. Steven Tyler still finds a way to do some annoying things in this one. The sound was pretty good thought out but still just a over average to me. 6.8/10

A pretty decent alt rock album. Never listened to this band before but their sound wasn’t too unfamiliar. Their choruses were pretty good on some of the up best songs. This album was incredibly long at over 2 hours. There are some pretty nice chill songs on the album. You trim the album in half and it’s probably one of the best electronic albums. However it’s not like that and it feels like a chore to get through. 5.7/10

My personal favorite boss album. This is everything great about him. Hardcore Americana lyrics with soulful sax solos. His singing still has its flaws but this album not only rocks but has some great ballads too. It’s excellent. 9.0/10

There are some good songs here but my oh my this was the longest album ever. This was seriously more of a triple album. I was pretty interested in the beginning so it is good. Just something I won’t revisit. 4.6/10

Average pop rap album. Paper planes is a great song and will be played for a long time. Most of the album is hit and miss. Some songs are catchy with cool beats. Others can get annoying and feel repetitive. Album could’ve been better if it was shorter and trimmed some songs. 5.6/10

Enjoyed this album more than expected. Haven’t listened to him before but knew of songs from his other albums. I thought this album was really good as a whole. It has a lot of musical elements involved, and kiwanuka has a pretty solid singing style and voice. 7.5/10

Just an ok album in my opinion. The hives seem like a modern punk band that tries to sound mainstream. Like a cross over of arctic monkeys and 80s punk. I don’t really care for it. The singer isn’t that good and the instrumentals are pretty generic. 5.1/10

Didn’t enjoy this one much. Had a pretty rough sound. Didn’t find too much value here as it seemed like a lesser quality alternative album. 3.7/10

This is a great mixup of a supergroup. Clapton and some solid blues players make this a really good album. Layla is so great and known from goodfellas. The album has some classic rock staples and some nice blues rock songs that make it a little genre bending. Pretty cool album. 7.8/10

Not very good at all. A weird and not so good combo of alternative and electronic. Skipped several songs as they just weren’t listenable. 2.1/10

Ok album. Some songs felt like quintessential folk songs from the 60s. The album was enjoyable however it felt like there’s been stronger albums of the same style. In 65 this may have been viewed better but to me it’s just ok. 5.7/10

Decent album. Wilco is a band that always sounds good but halfway through an album you feel like it could still be the first song. Or that it could be any of the other albums. I’d say being there was probably the first one where they really found their style that is unique to them. Some of the songs are solid but this album isn’t as refined as some of their others. 6.0/10

Pretty enjoys album. Didn’t know Steve Windwood was in a band prior to his solo stuff. Enjoyed this album as much as any other Steve Windwood stuff. This was very instrumental heavy which at times was cool and others it dragged. Overall it’s decent. 6.3/10

This one was better than expected. A lot of their songs had a unique style that feels special to this group. The combination of electronic sounds with certain drums and beats make these songs pretty engaging. Plus the lyrics and singing isn’t too bad. 6.5/10

Felt like this may have been more popular when it was released compared to now. Really only enjoyed maybe a couple songs. Other than that didn’t find it too interesting. There were glimpses of pretty good pop dogs but none that stood out. 4.0/10

This is like if the beastie boys Mets up with limp bizkit mixed with some reggae. It’s nothing special and feels kinda corny. Some of the beats and raps are catchy but lame. And the alternative songs just feel like typical 90s alt that doesn’t really shine. 4.5/10

Another solid David Bowie album. This one is more pop heavy and nothing too crazy but it’s succinct and enjoyable. A good cover of a Beatles song and a couple of classics on this. Bowie is pretty special when it comes to consistent albums. 7.9/10

This is an album that starts pretty good and progressively decreases with each song. I enjoyed the first track and then maybe the next two. And that was it. Album couldn’t stay consistent and felt like it became too much of a hippie rock album. 4.3/10

Ok pop album. The female singing is pretty good and has a good voice. The songs are all pretty slow and relaxed. Nothing really too bad. Just not for me. 3.7/10

A bit more of an interesting album. Pretty indie alternative feel to it like car seat headrest or neutral milk hotel. Some of the songs are a bit deeper and darker. Not necessarily bad but idk how much is listen to it. 4.8/10

Thought this was a pretty good album. Very 80s synth electronic feel to it but also had some good rock elements. Some of the songs I’ve heard before. This album is pretty complete as it’s not too long unless you add the bonus tracks. Would listen again. 6.9/10

Really like some of the songs on this album. Always felt like it was a quintessential 80s pop album. There are some songs that aren’t that great and seem like filler but overall it’s pretty good. 7.7/10

I liked this album. Stay with me is a classic and knew of the faces prior to this. The whole album is pretty good. It’s relatively short but brings plenty of energy. It’s fun and the instrumentals seem good. Rod Stewart is a classic musician. 7.2/10

Probably Green Day’s best and most popular album. A lot of classic alternative hits in this one and some that have gone forgotten. Jesus of suburbia is a solid tune. This album as a whole is pretty good without the bonus tracks. 7.1/10

Not a bad pop album. Definitely have some mixed feelings as some songs were catchy and good and others were almost skippable. Definitely a product of its era as well which made this one just ok. 5.8/10

Decent album. Sometimes a little poppy. Sometimes a bit jazzy. Feel like mixing it up worked or better instead of getting bored of one style. The singers voice is smooth and consistent. Felt like it was trying to do a modern take on Stevie wonder. Overall pretty decent. 6.0/10

Nice alternative album by the gorillaz. They have their own style and it’s pretty awesome. A few songs on this album drag it out and could’ve been cut off but most this album is good. Clint Eastwood is a solid song. 6.9/10

This was an ok electronic album but really just felt like background noise. Didn’t hate it but it just went by and then it was over. 3.1/10

Pretty solid album by Tupac. Album isn’t as hard or gangster rap as some of his other albums. A bit more introspective but still a good listen all the way through. 2 pac has always had an ability to make a diverse album that has a song that appeals to different people and Dear mama is a classic. 7.6/10

Another pretty weird electronic pop album. There were a couple songs that I could listen to and didn’t mind. There were some that were awful and I had to skip. Overall not too great. 2.9/10

Pretty good album here. Much better than raw power. Lust for life is a classic song and the pretender is solid with the help of Bowie. The whole album had a softer Bowie/punk vibe. It was a good listen. 7.1/10

Wonderful album and probably Stevie wonders most complete. Between the Melodies and great songwriting this album is an R&B classic. Almost half of the album is full of classic songs. This is a must listen and relisten all the time. 8.9/10

A pretty good album that I have not heard before. I enjoyed the various genre bending this album provides. Some various levels of prog rock, alternative creates an enjoyable album that feels modern and important for future bands. 6.6/10

Didn’t care too much for this album. Never felt like it really made strides to differentiate itself. The album wasn’t necessarily bad just seemed like generic British pop rock. 4.6/10

I don’t know how a cee lo green album made this list. He’s not very good. This album felt like it would easily forgotten during the 2000s. There were several better albums then. Only a couple songs on this album were okay. His voice and singing style is a bit weird. The beats and vibe was ok but nothing special. 3.9/10

It was an ok album. Tainted love is a popular song but this album is very much 80s pop. It’s a genre you either are into or not. This one wasn’t my favorite overall but the singer has a good voice. 5.0/10

Didn’t care much for this album. Felt that this had little similarities to Pink Floyd. This was a few years before they got bigger but we’re still around. This album felt more like a recording session than an album. Some may like that but it wasn’t for me. 4.4/10

Pretty awesome funk album. Don’t think many people have done it better than parliament. This album has some classics and some other nice songs that were new to me. This is a nice funk album. 8.0/10

I thought this was a pretty good album. 70s Neil young is always half decent. This album had some melodic rhythms and was good lyrically. Could listen to this one again. 7.4/10

This was a particularly bad album. The songs were pretty bizarre and it felt that they were unpolished. All this makes sense when I read they were an early ska style band. Ingenuitive to some they may be but to me this was pretty tough to get through. 3.3/10

Pretty decent album. Ray Charles is a legend and his music is all around good. I felt this album was easy to listen to and it was entertaining. It didn’t blow me away or make me replay any specific song but it was good. 6.7/10

An okay album. Apparently an early alternative album before the genre got a bit more famous. don’t necessarily think being early to a genre is special if the music doesn’t bring a lot of entertainment. It wasn’t bad just felt very bland, very long and nothing stood out. The singer would be hard to understand at times. 4.5/10

Pretty odd album. Basically just instrumentals and ambiance type music. Never really felt worthwhile or enjoyable. 2.0/10

One of the more influential and political rock albums. Rage makes a very strong and hardcore album. Roche has a great way of vocalizing and making his voice carry into your ears and thoughts. Killing in the Name is one of the best rock tracks ever as well. A phenomenal album. 8.6/10

Decent rock album. Felt like this band is pretty much not as known and somewhat underrated. They have a stones/the strokes feel to them. Felt like this album was pretty good given they were doing what a lot of other bands were doing. 6.3/10

Not a bad reggae album. Pretty typical vibe and what the songs are about. The beats and instrumentals are good and pretty average reggae tunes. 5.7/10

A solo album by a beach boy. Definitely a different feel that what The Beach Boys normally provide. This is a slower,sadder, more artistic style album. Incredibly long which brings it down a bit. It’s not terrible just slightly depressing which in its own way is ok. 5.3/10

An ok funky, soul album. It’s mainly grooving instrumentals with a few moments of singing. Didn’t find it too great but it did ease through in the background. 5.0/10

Fantastic album by zeppelin. They really dig deep into the heir style with this one as it’s heavy in the riffs and rock blues style. This album may not be my favorite of theirs but it’s one of the best compilations of songs that are everything Led Zeppelin. 8.3/10

Did not really care for this album. It was pretty meddling and the songs felt unfinished. Sometimes the 60s rock has that issue. The singer was a bit nasally and the instrumentals were ok. For a rock album I can’t see myself revisiting this one. 4.3/10

To me this was pretty boring and felt like background noise. Basic elements of techno 90s music. The album was long and didn’t have any exact moments of highs or lows. 2.7/10

Excellent rap album by the best rap duo of all time. This album varies stylistically in many ways and it’s good from front to back. This album has several interludes that break up the flow and in my opinion don’t add much. This album is good but I’d OutKast’s 3rd or 4th best.(Idlewild is obviously last) Which shows how good they are. 8.2/10

Not much interesting about this one. Kinda glam pop synth pop feel from the 80s. Very subtle lyrically and the album feels like it drifts along. Pretty mediocre. 3.7/10

Ok album. Didn’t feel like this one broke the mold of the British alternative style. They did what I feel oasis does better. Their songs are enjoyable yet somewhat repetitive. It’s good but nothing special. 5.6/10

This was an album that was hard to pinpoint what I really felt about it. It’s good. Artistically it’s really good. In my own terms of enjoyment it’s nothing superior though. This album isn’t as catchy as some of other prince’s. However this album shows his massive talent. Between his singing range and guitar ability it’s hard to overlook how good this is. I myself just don’t like it as much as some of his other albums. 7.6/10

This album was in Spanish which makes it difficult to enjoy. The singer has a good voice and felt Norah jones Esque. Overall it’s value was lost on me. 1.9/10

I enjoyed this album and felt it was one of lcd’s better albums. Their songs have such an interesting style and range. The beats are solid and unique. Lyrically there is some depth but sometimes it feels a little pretentious. Overall pretty good. 7.0/10

Fantastic rock album. CCR never disappoints in their limited albums. This one has a couple covers and some absolute classics. Could listen to this album all day. Doherty has an amazing ability to belt out some solid swampy rock songs. The instrumentals are groovy, funky, and fun. It’s quick, cohesive, energetic. Probably their best album and collectively my favorite. Not much wrong with this. 8.7/10

A pretty gritty electronic album. I found some of the songs not that bad but overall it still get pretty boring like most electronic albums. 2.6/10

A decent pop album with some major hits. The album has its main theme of love affairs and feelings T Swift has about them. And then there’s just generic pop hits thrown in the middle. As an album it’s ok. This does better with just the few good single pieces. 5.8/10

What an odd album. I mean kudos for the guy that can play all these instruments but it doesn’t make the music more enjoyable. This was pretty dull. 1.7/10

Was originally pretty excited to have an Elvis album to listen too. However this album disappointed me a bit. It’s 12 songs and just under 30 mins. The songs are short and quick. Some are up tempo and feels like it plays at double speed. Some of these songs his voice is a bit higher pitch which felt odd for Elvis. Kind of underwhelming overall but it did show that he had potential. 5.3/10

This is a very short and concise album. I’d say it’s instrumentals are very basic but it brings out the singing and lyrics more which is the real component of this album. And this is his best work. 8.0/10

This is a decent pop album. A couple of the songs are pretty enjoyable. Beyoncé makes some songs relatable to her fans and others about her wealth. A majority of this album is about love and sex which gets tiresome after a bit. Overall it’s okay. 6.2/10

Very fun and nostalgic album. A few classics on this album which will be quintessential feel good songs. Some of the other album is a bit trippy pop and is okay. The second half of the album is not nearly as strong but overall it’s an impressive and joyful album for the youth. 7.3/10

Nice east rock album. ELO made this one pretty unique in the rock sense with an arrangement of instruments and stylings. The songs are easy going and mostly cheerful and fun to hear. The album is really just enjoyable. 7.7/10

This is a pretty good classic rock album. The first half of the album is all hits. The back half of the album isn’t bad. Just pretty generic classic rock. Overall it feels pretty timeless and the songs are enjoyable. 7.6/10

A fantastic jazz album. Coltrane is a wonder and this album shows how much of a genius he was. Between the stylings and composition this is a really brilliant album that makes jazz very enjoyable. 8.5/10

This was an enjoyable album for the first time listening. Interesting Jeff beck only put his name on it when rod Stewart sings every song. I think rod stewart helped make this album better. The guitar playing was solid as well. Lots of variance between blues and harder classic rock sounds. Pretty enjoyable album overall. 7.3/10

Ok pop album. I can see how people like her music i as it’s melancholy and sometimes soothing. I don’t find the album as a whole that special. It felt like listening to another persons story that is uninteresting. 4.9/10

An interesting album that felt like it was a mixture of songwriting styles. Lyrically it was diverse and different than most albums. Felt like it was like a father John misty album mixed with bo Burnham. I listened to it multiple times and as much as I enjoyed the instrumentals it got somewhat annoying as the album progressed. 4.4/10

Was hard to have a decisive reaction to this album. It’s pretty long and the songs while they are all generally alternative it feels they vary throughout how the mesh together. The album felt a bit messy and like a compilation of songs the writer had ready to go. Nothing I would revisit. 4.2/10

This is probably my favorite album of all time so a very easy review for this one. Everything about this is so well done. 10/10

A instrumentally strong album that really strives in the prog rock/rock opera category. The album is pretty short and most of it is the 20 minute song which if you’re a fan of rush is probably great to hear. I found the album a bit lacking. 5.7/10

This album was difficult to get through. A prime example of how a bad singer can ruin an album. The instrumentals weren’t entirely that bad but it was hard to get past the rough voice. Wouldn’t not re-listen. 2.3/10

A wonderful Beatles album with a variety of songs. This album is long but being a fan of the Beatles it’s only appreciated. This album has a little bit of everything that made their other albums great. Obviously that means this one isn’t too cohesive or flowing but it doesn’t necessarily matter if you just want to hear more Beatles. Excellent album. 8.4/10

Fantastic rap album by Nas. His first album at such a young age gives an insight to the New York street life. The lyrics are raw and visual. The beats are great and still entertaining today. This album is historical in Nas having it produced by various people. This album is one of the best. 8.9/10

Good album by rod stewart. It has one of his best songs with Maggie May. The rest of the album is similar in tone but not really many other hits. Nothing too bad about the album except the amazing grace outro In one song felt unneeded. Would listen again. 6.9/10

Never a bad album by the Beatles. This is more their pop boy band style than when they transitioned into rock legends. A good album with some decent covers. This album has a long track list but is only 36 mins. Overall this may be my least favorite Beatles album, but still great. 8.1/10

A pretty good album. This song has a couple timeless hits on it that helps elevate it. Some of the other songs are either political or slightly depressing. Definitely a deeper, darker album overall. Even fast car is pretty sad but it’s a good song. Overall it’s enjoyable. 6.8/10

Awesome rock album here. Probably their best collection of songs and it’s their first album. This one has a little bit of everything, ballads, classics, guitar solos. It’s an amazing first album from a band that was cut short on life. Really solid stuff. 8.2/10

This seems like an album that people could listen to or they would hate it. Celtic rock isn’t terribly but I would say I wouldn’t seek it out. The album did have a good rock sound. The lyrics and singing were heavy on the Irish theme which made it hard to enjoy. Not a bad album just a niche taste. 5.7/10

I was shocked to see this make the list. I love this album and it’s hard to determine if I prefer this one or a deeper understanding. They are both great, smooth instrumentals to a t. I can’t and do listen to this album all the time. 9.0/10

When this album first came out and people were praising it, I didn’t quite understand why. Now having listened to it fully, I still don’t get what’s enjoyable about it. It’s pretty bland r and b. So Lange isn’t the best singer and most of the songs are very dull. I think maybe one or two I thought ok this isn’t bad but a majority of it is missable. 4.3/10

It was an ok album. Heavy drum and bass beats comprise most of the album with some experimental stuff going on as well. It showed that a good beat is better accompanied by a good lyricist. 4.0/10
