I recall hearing a ton of this when it was huge, I don't think I ever owned it. I think this is great musically. Lyrically clever and with a winning flow but is there much any substance there? Still if it's all style it's pretty impeccable styles. The covers don't do a lot for me, and bunch of dudes belting out female power anthem I Will Survive is particularly meh.

This album is one of my absolute favorites of all time by my favorite band of all time, Cake. It’s so underrated, it’s a crime! I personally think it’s their second best album behind 2001's Comfort Eagle, but it was more important historically because it had their biggest hits from the 90s and helped build their fanbase (not including Motorcade of Generosity). 5 stars instantly.

This alternative rock album by Cake contains the successful singles "The Distance" and "I Will Survive". The rest of the album is not bad either. Funny lyrics and good guitar (and horn) performances. The songs that are covers really add something to the original versions.
