David Bowie
3/5
I am pretty sure I’m pro-Bowie..I am not anti-Bowie or Bowie-neutral. I am however still seeking the album that REALLY gets me into Bowie. I believe I am someone who can and should be really into Bowie. Aladdin Sane is coming across my musical path I think at the right time for me to discover MY Bowie album. Is this it? Time will tell - but I am inspired now to dig back into this catalogue.

I enjoy reading the wiki entries on each of the albums and this one was a good one that reinforced why this album stands out from the rest of the random late 70s to mid 80s British bands that have an entry on this list. tldr; “Richard Hell but good. See Black Flag, Robert Pollard, and Franz Ferdinand”

Echo And The Bunnymen
3/5
Classic Echo and the B-Boys, post punk yadda yadda with a touch of that gothy mystique
Grant Lee Buffalo
2/5
This is extremely 90s alternative in a way that I just don’t care too much about after 1018 albums
Jazmine Sullivan
2/5
R&B, like wine, I can tell you that I know when a unit is very good or okay but not explain quite why. Lack of exposure for certain, but that’s why this list has been helpful. There is really just a handful of random R&B on this list so that hasn’t helped. I can tell there is something here but am not literate enough to tell you what. That plus being behind made me just want this to be done. Sorry, Jazmine
The Zutons
2/5
Whoever named this band and album and song titles and ok’d the art thought they were one thing, and then the songwriters thought they were a different thing. And those songwriters also disagreed on what the thing was. None of this is bad, but I don’t know why it is here and it’s all over the place

Interesting mix of sounds Wikipedia potentially lists as ‘alternative country’ but largely sits in the broad label that is ‘indie’. Also great that it was a nothing burger in the US but found popularity in the UK and now is on this list from our UK writer
