Gets rolling pretty quick, wild to think how many great songs this guy whipped up in his first handful of years. The first half sounds superb: the room, the dynamics in his strumming and voice, the rippin’ tin sando – it really feels like your sitting in front of the mixing board. The less-intimate back half also sounds great, but I’m not quite as engaged by big volume Bob for some reason. Regardless, I’d come back to this one. 3/5

I've never been a fan of Dylan, and this performance does nothing to change that. Dylan's "style" of singing always rubs me the wrong way, and takes away from what might otherwise be pretty decent songs.

Usually not a fan of live albums unless it’s Audiotree. But I’m open minded.

Credit to Dylan for his live sound. However this album was terribly boring for me. The first half of acoustic songs all blend into one long drone of ole BD. The 2nd half is better, but could not rise me from my bored state

The first half was only passable by me. It wasn't offensive, but I was definitely bored. I dislike Dylan's vocal style with his upward inflections. I was ready to just slog through it, but did the research quickly and saw the back half is electric so I waited for that. I found the electric half much more enjoyable, as I'm way more taken with interesting guitars and drums and such than the lyrical content. The electric saved it from being a 1-2 star listen.

Never been a fan of this style of music, but I can appreciate its status. Songwriting is strong, though it does grow samey for 1,5 hours of acoustic strumming, harmonica and Dylan's signature vocal inflections.

I'm a Dylan fan, but not a Dylan stan. He has some works I really like beyond just their reputation, but Petty has always been my Traveling Wilbury of choice. So I have heard this concert performance before once or twice, but it's not exactly what I'd call a fun time, it's honestly more of a history lesson. A history lesson with some incredible songs, including a couple of my favorite Dylan tracks, but I don't see much need to listen to this other than to understand this point in his career. As a historical artifact, it's terrific. As a recording of this particular setlist, it's still quite good, but I'd honestly take this out for something a little more daring instead. And I find both halves pretty equal. B

Not a fan of Bob Dylan's singing style with the constant upward inflections, but his songwriting is on point. The first half of this release, the acoustic half, also has a really intimate feeling that is very enjoyable. Dylan's singing style bothers me a lot here though. The second half, with The Hawks, is a masterful performance. Atmospheric, psychedelic, folky, and rockin'. Dylan's singing is a bit more restrained, which fits the music better and is far more enjoyable.

I don’t understand why anyone would think Bob Dylan live in concert is good. He isn’t.
