At first it felt like an eclectic mix of genres that I couldn't really connect with, until I got to "Lord Only Knows". That track feels like a mix of the Killers and the Fratellis and it was then that it dawned on me how influential this album must have been for popular musicians that followed in the next decade. By track 4 I was starting to understand what Beck was about, some tracks feel like they were inspired by Frank Zappa, to the point where I feel like 'Devil's Haircut' kind of betrays what Beck is truly like. A good album, but not entirely to my taste.
