Back To Black
Amy WinehouseOk straight up for me one of the best albums of its generation.. artistry at its best.. Ronson and Salam killed it in the production as well, knew exactly when to get out of the way of amy and when to support her vocals..

Now, don't hate, but it's gotta be a 3 point something for me. The hits are obvs much higher, but out of 15 tracks there are a lot of forgettable/cool but non stand out ones - they start to blur into one for me, some sharing similar melody and chord ideas, not really differentiating themselves form one another. I have to judge it as an album! But I enjoyed it!

Lyrics are a bit mental for me.. I dunno.. i’m gonna listen again! But I get it, there is a lot of young raw energy in there… I can totally see how we wouldn’t have are the bands today that we love without these guys! Wish this was out of 10! ;)
Great vibe, consistent, enjoyed it, can't believe it was made in 1976 - appetite for destruction came out in 1987? Loads of GnR influence in there!
Really enjoyed this, not totally sure what they were saying half the time, but loved the sampling and vocal energy, proper vibe! Great for doing jigsaws to! ;)
Really enjoyed this, loads of big samples and amazing how many peeps have sampled this album!
Really enjoyed this, will listen again! Hearing Hendrix, Andre 3000, Rick James, Marvin Gaye? (last track) and others!

Some big hits, but let down a bit by the other tracks, nostalgic as hell for me as I had these on CD back way back and remember countless nights hearing "living on a prayer" out on Camden! Also the guitar work is siiiiiick!!
Great listen.. 1 main hit and the rest were proficient and kinda cool background vibe.. defo higher that 3 but not a 4 for me.. again i need out of 10!!
Sick album reaaaaaaally caught some awesome vibes off of it, will defo listen again! It's defo more than a 4, but can't give it a 5 because of other albums which have played a huge role in my life and connected with me on another level. Still really sick though!
Enjoyed this, who vibe i didn't know existed, got some Vangelis vibes from it too! Dunno if a total 4 as it did get a touch fatiguing towards the end..
It's between a 4 and 5 for me and it's such and inspiring album for me. But i'm going with a 4 because I know that there are albums that have influenced me even more than this. Buuuuut it is amazing and on top of it I can hear how a lot of of stuff is made and even had (and still have) some of the same vintage synths and samplers that it sounds like have been used on it - which adds to it for me.
