Elvis' first proper album, and talk about energy. Even the ballads have a raw but poppy feeling that mixes the past and the present (at the time). Knowing the history for this album helps as well. He covers black artists, unheard of at the time for a white artist.
Classic rock 'n roll. As good as Elvis's first album was, this is so much purer of an expression of the early days of the genre. The black roots of rock are on full display, yet it's fully in this new type of music. This is fun rock stuff.
Post-hardcore punk that I haven't really listened to before. Definitely in the vein of Fugazi. It's ahead of it's time in sound, the next logical step after Fugazi. This is the stepping stone to some more popular bands in the late 90s/early 2000s like At the Drive-In. The distorted sounds and longer songs won't be everyone, but this is a great marriage of punk and noise rock.
The song American Pie starts off, hard to forgive how old hat this song is, but it is a well-crafted story song. After that overplayed song, we start more typical sunny folky 70s sounds. Vincent is the other big single, and it paints a much more intimate picture than American Pie.

Right at the start, you can see Loretta Lynn being more feminist than country fans were ready for when this was released. The title song is a classic, and it's followed by some good rainy day country songs.

Great soul music from the queen of it. Some songs you've heard plenty but don't get tired of. But the album cuts are great also.
I've always liked the one hit (Tainted Love), let's see how the rest of the album plays. The whole album feels like a seedy 80s club full of neon lights. It's definitely a mood. Overall, not a great album, but not bad.

Classic groovy rock. It's not my favorite Hendrix album, and there seems like a little bit of guitar filler here. But it's great hearing the song used in the 90s for the nWo and there are other classic bangers here.
Love this album for introducing me to more world hip-hop sounds. As a huge Clash fan, I always loved Paper Planes for sampling them. But the whole album is a banger.
Trash from a trash person.
Not my favorite Bruce album, but still heads and tails above most.
This is a classic but there is a bit of filler here also.
