1001 Albums Summary

One of those CDs that regardless of if you like the vand or not, really will hit with everyone. The only thing that stops me from giving it a full 5 stars is that the lows (the middle 2-3 songs are fully forgettable even before you finish the album) are true lows.

Solid wordsmith and song writing all around. One of the best albums to come out of the 2010s.

An uneventful, OK listen. What it does well though is give you enough of an itch to check out other Buffalo Springfield albums.

OK album.... I feel like they couldn't decide if they wanted to be soft rock or prog rock while thinking that a jazzy sounds was "smart". If you can get past the title track, it definitely gets better, but never really great.

Not their strongest album, but pretty solid all the way through. While not an album I'd say to give anyone to introduce them to the Doors or the greatest of Jim Morrison, likely a wonderful album for those already fans of the Doors.

Much like the Doors' "Morrison Hotel", a fairly solid album if you are already a fan of the Beach Boys. You can hear the classic sound undertones through most of the songs. You can hear/feel the heavy influences of the late 60s/early 70s in every song. A good album but not their best.

A great representation of 90s rap. While not an album that'd set the world on fire, it is solid through and through

This album is the perfect musical equivalent of a golf course you tough out the front nine specifically to be able to play the back nine. The album starts out great with "Blue Orchid" but then falls into a disjointed mess for the first half of the album. Meg's "Passive Manipulation" signals a change. The second half of the album flows exceedingly well and ends on one of, arguably, the greatest garage rock songs of the early 2000s.

The album is like a warm blanket - the more you snuggle in and embrace it, the more cozy and dreamy the album becomes. By the time it gets to "The Operator", the Flaming Lips are in full force, creating a dreamy sonic landscape that is exceptional. While the album still has some low points that rattle the whole feel and may pull some people out of the experience (songs like The Spiderbite Song and The Gash), the overall album is solid from beginning to end.

While undoubtedly an important part of music history, it's a real struggle to get through. I'm sure if you can get through the noise and random sounds (samples of car alarms, dogs barking, what I'm assuming was a running faucet), there's something to be gain. Getting through that noise though is a juggernaut of a task.

A quintessential 80's rock album! It is everything that embodies 80s rock - it is loud; it is fast; it is rude; it'll get your heart pumping and your head banging all day long.

The album that made 50 Cent. "In Da Club" is still a banger, even 20 years later.the album is solid through and through but doesn't hit the heights of other rappers, such as Kanye, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Wu Tang.
