Young is an icon, but not one I’ve listened to. I was impressed, but it blended into the background after the first couple of songs. I’m probably past the days where a 5 minute guitar solo appeals to me, but if it does to you it’s probably a 3.5-4
All I knew about Thelonius Monk was he was a pianist. Quite pleased by the amount of horns. Pretty good. Enjoyed myself
Wonderful album. Showcases Cobain’s ability as a performer to enrapture a room as well as Grohl’s versatility as a drummer
Call me ignorant but I didn’t realise Aerosmith were this heavy. Recognised a lot of the songs and it was cool to see the context. Is it just me or do Aerosmith just write sick choruses and put no effort into the verses?
Great album. The titular track is a personal highlight, and of course wild world slaps from beginning to end
Nothing catchy melodically or lyrically and while most of the album was inoffensive, some of it was actively offensive.
Fun background music. Veered between genres which was fun.
High quality recording of some classic songs. Has aged a bit but a fun little bop.
Navarro is underrated on the guitar.
Why did nobody tell me how much fun these guys are?
Pleasant vocals, but I struggled to get through it due to getting bored to be honest.
Beautiful lyricism, musical arrangements that are like Ringo - not overly flashy but perfect for the song, and Cohen’s moody baritone. I love it.
