...And Justice For All
Metallica
Frenetic guitar riffs, intricate harmonies, driving bass and gritty lyricism. An interesting almost entirely instrumental song in To Love Is To Die, which has a beautiful guitar part. Some songs overstay their welcome a little, but overall a good album!

The Who Sell Out
The Who
A strange concept album of unrelated songs framed as a faux pirate radio station, complete with musical advertisements. Still some really great music to be found on this album, and it's interesting to hear the seeds of what would become The Who's rock opera Tommy, in songs like Real and Mary Anne With The Shakey Hand. Definitely worth a listen.

Yes
Sprawling prog rock epics interspersed with some short little filler tracks. But, it all ties together sonically into a great album with some superb musicianship!

Bruce Springsteen
An uninteresting slog of an acoustic album, the songs all blend together and nothing really stands out. I'll admit I only really know the hits when it comes to Springsteen, but this really fell short of any expectations I may have had.

Deep Purple
An absolute powerhouse of an album, with some fantastic riffs and driving bass lines. Some highlights (not including the better known hits) include Lazy; an absolute banger with a mesmerising organ part, and Never Before; with an intro so good you can't help but pull that stanky face! Top album, definitely going into rotation!

Johnny Cash was a master of working the crowd, and the atmosphere in this live recording is absolutely electric. Just a hugely entertaining album from a true legend!

I've never actually listened to Doolittle before today and I feel like I've done myself an injustice. There is not one bad song on this album. Some great musicianship and sheer inventiveness in each song, everything sounds different and still balanced. Definitely going into the rotation!

Just an album of good old acoustic guitar pop, and there's nothing wrong with that. Some timeless songs on this record, and an all round easy listen.

Exit Planet Dust
The Chemical Brothers
An album with some interesting hooks and loops that provide an interesting listen. A lot of the tracks overstay their welcome, with loops getting a little bit repetitious too quickly. It's dance music with a pop flair, and it's done well enough; but I feel everything could be condensed and you'd have a more listenable and less tedious album.

The Rolling Stones
I mean it's the Rolling Stones doing what they do best; some good old fashioned rock and roll. This album has a few classics, Wild Horses, Can you Hear Me Knocking and Brown Sugar. It's just a good solid album at then end of the day!

Neil Young
A good classic folk / acoustic rock album, every song is wonderfully composed, and easy to listen to. I can't say I've ever really listened to Neil Young before, and this album was a great starter!

David Bowie
Bowie's "plastic soul" album was overall just a fun album to listen to. You can hear the R&B and Soul influences, and yet it also sounds very Bowie. There isn't a track on the album that feels out of place! Definitely recommend listening!

This is just Bob Dylan doing what he does best! The songs are enjoyable, the album flows with a nice pace, and the entire thing is just a pleasure to listen to. It's basically what you expect from a Bob Dylan album.

An album that really defined the Britpop scene. I've never really listened to Blur other than the the hits, and this album was a surprise. It's a nice patchwork of different genres and different tones, all woven together into a cohesive album. Definitely one to listen to!

Something/Anything?
Todd Rundgren
Something / Anything? is an album that touches on a variety of different sounds. It feels like a sprawling journey, one in which you don't know where you're going but you can sit and enjoy the ride. Overall a really enjoyable listen and one I'll definitely listen to again!
Of note is the fact that Spotify and Youtube Music don't carry the full album (both seem to only have the first 13 tracks. Fortunately, there are playlists to be found that contain the full album.

Finley Quaye
I must admit this isn't my usual cup of tea when it comes to music, but it was an enjoyable listen. There was nothing that stood out as particularly bad, but on the flip side nothing really struck me as being amazing. It was an easy going, generic reggae album.

This album is musically excellent. I can hear that this should be a classic, but for some reason I just couldn't get into the vibe of this one. Individually I think some tracks would be enjoyable, but as a whole the double album feels like a bit of a slog to sit through. Maybe I'm in the wrong headspace, maybe it's just not for me.

Massive Attack
No track feels out of place in this trip hop classic. The album starts strong with a driving bass line in Safe from Harm and doesn't let up. Musically diverse with a mix of different genre influences that all seem to work together perfectly. Stand out tracks are of course, Safe from Harm and Unfinished Sympathy; but each and every track is a killer. Great album!

Master Of Puppets
Metallica
It's textbook Metallica; massive energy, driving riffs, incredible harmonics, powerful drums, interesting and gritty to it's core. An album of classic tracks with Welcome Home, Battery and Master of Puppets. It's a solid album, maybe not their best album, but it's certainly Metallica being Metallica.

Alanis Morissette
This album is pretty typical of the era, an enjoyable enough pop rock album. If you've only ever heard a few of Alani Morissette's songs they're likely represented here, with You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket and Ironic. All in all, a good album!

There are a couple of enjoyable more melodic tracks on the album, which aren't a slog to sit through. But, unfortunately it felt like there were more repetitive tracks that overstayed their welcome, than there were real enjoyable pieces of music. After an hour of this, I'm not sure I ever want to hear it again!

This is an album of what I can only imagine are country music standards, or the equivalent. It's an easy listen, and has a nice country twang to it. It isn't particularly outstanding, nor is it terrible. It's just average, and that's okay!

Justice
There are a few great tracks on this album, these tend towards the vocal tracks and less the instrumental tracks. The album seems to have a loose running instrumental motif running throughout which ties it together, but also has the added effect of making it feel long and drawn out. With only a few stand out tracks, the album tends to feel a bit samey. Not terrible, but not great!
