Fela KutiNote quite my style. Very one-dimensional and repetitive.

Nice sounding folk rock album with some great tunes. Especially the slower acoustic songs. Starts off and closes great but falls off significantly around the halfway point. Suffers from a lack of continuity.
Amazing musicianship and very coherent throughout. I do however find the lyrics and vocals a bit lackluster. Raw and dirty guitar-riffs, basslines and electronics with the occasional slower acoustic break makes this a definite staple of the genre.
Most country really doesn't do it for me, especially the overly simple bass rhythm give all the tracks a very uninteresting vibe. And although I quite like Johnny cash's singing, the live recording with the audience chiming in like a if it all was a sitcom makes this feel more like disconnected sections of a comedy audiobook than an album.
Not much of a classical blues fanatic, but this one surely was soothing to but on during a cleanup session.
Nothing special, just some good but bland blues rock.
Astonishing what one can do with just an acoustic guitar and some storytelling, no mixing, no backing instruments, no extravagances. With the right audience. I can see the potential of this album, although it didn't quite resonate with me.
Aside from the great beginning track, this album did not cease to disappoint me. Endlessly repetitive beats and recurring sections, unattractive vocal *noises* and overall a lack of progression. Feels very stale.
Very average, no real highs or lows, just alright throughout. Although the concept is clear, the album is way too long and unmemorable.
I had never previously listened to The Smiths but will definitely pick up some more after this piece. Haunting vocals and lyrics, sense of story, amazing production, no weak tracks, understated rhythm etc. I'm conservative with my 5 star ratings, but this one comes darn close. Give me a couple of more goes at this album and band and I wouldn't be surprised if I listed it as a 5 star! I thank 1001albumsgenerator for this great suggestion.
Nice swinging pop-rock with some bluesy elements. Get It On is a classic and Cosmic Dancer was a pleasant surprise. The album can be repetitive at times with repeating basslines and very little progression within tracks.
Nothing special at all. Emmylous voice is great and the music is quite soothing, but I'm honestly a little suprised theres so much country music in this list and I found difficulty distinguishing between much of it. This was mostly just one in the masses.
Based off the cover art I unpleasantly expected some 70-80s raging punk. Although the punk-influences are undoubtedly audible, this album greeted me with at times very melodic Britpop, which I much prefer. Honestly this was all and all a rather good album that deserves more popularity. Waking Up, 2:1 and S.O.F.T. are definite high points for me.
I understand this album truly was groundbreaking and is loved by many, but I simply can't stand the genre. Too much seemingly random noise and samples. I didn't enjoy this one...
Classic! Halford's voice is as powerful and shrilling as ever but what really brings this album together is the drumming accompanying the catchy riffs. The reason this isn't a five star is because I find especially "Metal Gods", "Grinder" and "You Don't Have to Be Old to Be Wise" a bit stale and mellow. The ending, "Red, White & Blue" also doesn't do the album justice. One of my personal favorites, "The Rage", would have been much better suited for closing this iconic album. All and all a good but a overhyped classic album. This album is triumphed by many other Priest albums, "Sad Wings of Destiny", "Painkiller" and "Stained Class" just to name a few.
Classic country rock! Down by the river and Cowgirl in the Sand are staples of the genre for a good reason. The fantastic guitarplaying and Neils voice makes you wonder how the last 8 minutes of the song passed within what felt like seconds. Even after a second listen of this album it really leaves you breathless at times. This might very well be the best of Neil Young (and Crazy Horse) and deserving of the 5-star rating.
I really liked this album and was surprised to find that I enjoy it as much as I did as it is quite different from the music I tend to listen to. I think that the steady bass, drum and piano beats heard in most of the tracks of this album is what does it for me. The cover of Only Love Can Break Your Heart especially showcases this.
Fails to keep me interested for more than a couple of minutes at a time.
A cheerful and great album all the way through, although the sexual theme can get a bit much at times. I particularly enjoyed "I spy".
Wow, this was great! Very political, quite old sounding yet still very relevant and beautiful. Reminds me of the great speakers and fighters for racial equality, just with a senseful musical touch added. Very good!
Really quite a cool album. Not as good as their self-titled, but the way all their synthmelodies, funky guitar solos and classic britpop vocals blend together is somewhat unique. I especially enjoyed the track London Loves.
