Mothership Connection
ParliamentDay 4: This album was amazing, I thought I was being too harsh with previous reviews but, an album or genre will just click. This deserves every right to be in must hear albums.
Day 4: This album was amazing, I thought I was being too harsh with previous reviews but, an album or genre will just click. This deserves every right to be in must hear albums.
Day 1: This is the first album of this challenge, I've listened to a few of Bob Dylan's songs before but this is the first full album of his I've listen to I'm surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. I feel like I didn't connect with the Album as much as others due to there being an almost 70 year gap, but I loved how every song was basically a Story. Favourite Song: Subterranean Homesick Blues
Day 2: I had no idea who Hole was or what genre they played, I was a bit cautious when I started the album but the first song "Celebrity Skin" was a pleasant surprise. The Album in general sounded very familiar and Generic, even though I haven't listened to much music from the 90's I could still tell the music was good but basic. Decent and easy to listen to though so far this challenge is going well. Favourite Songs: Celebrity Skin, Malibu, Northern Star
Day 3: I feel like I'm rating these albums too harshly, Madman across the Water was a good album and I'm almost tempted to give it a Rating of 4/5, Tiny Dancer and Levon were great songs and an amazing way to start an album, though the album kind of dropped into the background on the last couple songs and didn't grab my attention as much as the first half. Favourite Songs: Tiny Dancer, Levon
Day 4: This album was amazing, I thought I was being too harsh with previous reviews but, an album or genre will just click. This deserves every right to be in must hear albums.
Day 5: I'm a big fan of the Rap Genre but haven't listened to much old school rap. This album was very good the whole way through, loving this site for showing so many great albums Favourite Songs: It was a good day, Check Yo Self, Wicked
Day 7: A full week of daily albums, I've never heard of Sufjan Stevens, never heard of this album and also have never left Australia so this was a unique listen, Looking through some of the other reviews this albums seems to be very polarizing. I enjoyed the album almost from start to finish, and if I didn't get bored or complain after listening to a new sound for over an hour it must have done something correct. Rating: 3.5/5
Day 8: Didn't really enjoy this one, kind of felt mediocre the whole way through, the slow and quiet lyrics were getting drowned out by the instruments in the background most of the time. I can understand why some people might like this album, but I just don't have the time or desire to re-listen to it again, just so I can focus on the slow and quiet lyrics rather than trying to enjoy the music. Best Track: Sylvia
Day 9: Amazing voice, but most of the album felt very plain and moody, while I wasn't able to pay close attention to all the lyrics, (I listen to these daily albums while at work) I'm sure that the vocals are the main selling point. Regardless this wasn't a bad album, it was very easy to listen to and had a few really good songs, but I felt like much more could be done. Best Track: The Windmills Of Your Mind
Day 10: Artic Monkeys is a band I've listened to a couple times before, I enjoy there music when I'm in the mood for it. They have catchy tunes, decent lyrics you can follow. There music may not be ground breaking for me but I would definitely say it's good. This album did not disappoint, Couple songs that are already in playlists of mine were fun to listen to and the ones I hadn't heard before were still good. Overall an easy album to listen to. Favourite Track: Mardy Bum, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
Day 11: Very good album, Never heard of Fats Domino or any of these songs before, Was pleasantly surprised. Cant really peg any of the songs are being weak points and while some were hard to find on Spotify I used YouTube for many of them. A lot of the songs we're really good but I did feel like the album's later half did fall short compared to the first half. Overall I wouldn't have an issue re-listening to this album and many of the songs, I would also have no issues if I got more albums like this in the future. Favourite Songs: Honey Chile, Blueberry Hill, What's the Reason I'm Not Pleasing You
Day 12: Wasn't awful. I could see myself giving it a better rating if I listened to it in a different mood or time of day. I did enjoy most of the songs but felt that a lot of them fell into the background and didn't really interest me. Favourite Song: The Ocean
Day 13: Really liked this album. Easy to listen to, some good tunes and a decent voice. Favourite Songs: Coconut, Gotta Get Up, Jump into the Fire
Whole album felt very bland and boring, only song I kinda enjoyed was Starship trooper, most of the songs but dragged on for too long.
Very Mediocre
Day 16: Pretty good album, am always a fan of electronica and I guess that extends to older versions of it as well. Not all songs really stuck out to me but Personal Jesus and the start of Enjoy the Silence were absolutely amazing. Favourite Song: Personal Jesus
I have always enjoyed Coldplay, When I got this album for the day I expected the Reviews to be very positive and very high. never realized that Coldplay was hated by so many people until I checked the Reviews, I have absolutely no clue what the controversy or reason people hate them but I couldn't really care that much either. I enjoyed this album and while I can agree that it falls flat lyrically I enjoyed it the whole way through. Favourite Songs: Trouble, Sparks, Yellow
Pretty decent album. I've heard Bitter Sweet Symphony so many times that when I was given this album I was quite excited, Sadly I cannot say that many of the songs come close to Bitter Sweet Symphony and it's clear why it became such a hit there are a few other decent songs. Favourite Songs: Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Drugs Don't Work, Catching The Butterfly
This was a really good album, many of the songs I recognized and didn't really notice any "bad" songs. Enjoyed it the whole way through and never felt like I was forcing myself to listen to them. Favourite Songs: One Way Or Another, Heart Of Glass,
I was quite excited as this is the first MJ album I've been given, sadly that excitement died pretty early into the album, other than the breakout hits everything else in this album felts so basic, boring and a chore to listen through, with some songs like Liberian girl being actually dogshit to listen to. Even while separating the artist from the art, I still don't have many good things to say about this album other than the hits that became popular are obviously pretty good. Favourite Songs: Man in the Mirror, Dirty Diana, Smooth Criminal
It was alright, not sure what I expected from this album but can't say it was anything special for me. this album is probably a 2.5 maybe but ill give it 3 stars anyway.
Wasn't bad, but didn't feel like anything special. Most of the songs we good enough to leave on in the background but only a few actually had me invested enough to listen. Not sure if my opinion would change if I gave it another listen but for now it was very underwhelming.
Better than expected, A lot of the songs fell into the background but none really stuck out as being awful.
Enjoyed it much more than expected, many of the songs were so easy to listen to with some being very catchy. Haven't listened to much in this genre but I'm sure there will be more to come. Favourite Songs: Legalize it, No sympathy
Pretty amazing, Really enjoyed it throughout the whole album (some of the later songs didn't compare to the first half imo). Not anything really bad to say other than on some of the songs the lyrics did end up feeling a bit repetitive and bland. It feels like its only missing a little bit extra and it would be truly something great. Favourite Songs: Care of Cell 44, Brief Candles
Honestly better than I expected, while I did skim listen to a few of the songs I wasn't interested in, I did catch myself enjoying some all the way through. The duration of this album is just ridiculous but respectable, I'm sure if I was in love with this kind of music the sheer volume available would probably be a plus, but for someone skeptical it's just overwhelming.
It's alright, Nothing really caught my attention though.
Pretty solid, Enjoyed most of the songs. Best song: Heart shaped Box
Not bad, but nothing really special.
Very chill and slow. I can enjoy this kind of music as background music but It didn't feel like anything more than that. Burning was probably the most memorable song from the Album but it felt like the album was meant to be listened to in its entirety. Album probably a 2.5 but ill give it a 3
Pretty good, Short, sweet and never really felt like I was forcing myself through it.
Meh, Not awful but hard to really give it a rating higher than 2*. It kind of just sat in the Background and never really got my interest enough to listen thoroughly through a song, but I listened the whole way through so it's not a 1*
