Popular Reviews

You & I by Rita Ora

Cool! I'd heard of Rita Ora but had never listened to her. This was a solid pop album and I enjoyed the re-worked cover of Praise You. Nice to get something light and danceable on here. No surprise that the other reviewers didn't like it. God forbid something stray from male-oriented rock every now and again.

Clarity by Jimmy Eat World

Funny to get my husband’s favourite album for my first user-submitted album. Good call to whoever submitted this as I agree this is an omission from the list. I think I’m probably more partial to Bleed American but this is a good one too.

Wow, I live near Detroit and I'd never heard of this guy. I've driven past murals of him literally hundreds of times without realizing. I enjoyed this a lot and I'm surprised it wasn't popular at the time in the USA. This seems like it would have been a good inclusion in the official list. Nicely chosen.

METAL FORTH by BABYMETAL

I've had this sitting in my queue for six months, fully expecting to hate it. I don't plan to listen to it again but it wasn't as obnoxious as I expected. More like a 2.5 but I'll round up to be generous.

I'm angry that after so many overly long, mediocre albums, whoever submitted this decided a 2 hour live album was a good idea. I'm even more angry that I didn't hate it. I still think this was a ridiculous addition when a studio album would have been preferable.

Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World

Wha— I thought this was on the original list? It should have been. Solid choice for this list.

The Mantle by Agalloch

Completely tolerable for someone who hates metal (me)!

Really not my thing but I surprisingly didn’t mind it.

Not as terrible as I expected, but nothing I would come back to. I kinda like "Enter the Exterminator."

Ænima by TOOL
May 06 2026

My older brother had this album when it came out, so I sort of absorbed it via proximity. I forgot how dang good it is, even if it's not something I'd listen to regularly. A jarring omission from the original list.

Blink-182 by blink-182

YESSSSS! Such a great submission. Despite being a Blink fan, I didn't discover this album until 2005 and it quickly became one of my all-time favourites. I do think this would have deserved its place on the OG list had it been included.

In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson
May 14 2026

I chuckled a little bit when this popped up. I'm super curious if the submitter picked this because they felt like it should have been on the list or if because it's near and dear to them. Looking at their reviews, it looks like the latter. Anyway, this album will never not remind me of 2005, which was the year I moved out of my childhood home to live as an adult in a new and much larger city. "Banana Pancakes" was the background soundtrack to that era of my life as it was playing constantly at the time. I didn't mind this and I'd heard a bunch of the songs before. There are some real bangers on here but the rest did nothing for me.
